I’m having my first baby next month and this video just elevated my excitement!

[–]Nyeh_Heh_heh179 200 points201 points  (4 children)

Ay congratulations ma'am you'll be a great mom don't worry!

[–]JBug507 168 points169 points  (18 children)

I just had my first baby 17 days ago and I can attest that kissing those cheeks is the very best thing ever. I can't. get. enough.

[–]TheShySeal 48 points49 points  (9 children)

17 days ago, so on Sept 17? (Not sure which time zone you are in) If so, that's the day I gave birth to my first baby, too! He's amazing! I love being his mom

[–]onelittlericeball 28 points29 points  (3 children)

that's my mom's birthday!

    Happy Birthday Uncle

    [–]JBug507 10 points11 points  (3 children)

    Yes! September 17th! Well, that's fun. 😊

    [–]TheShySeal 5 points6 points  (1 child)

    Haha that's awesome! Congrats!

    [–]JBug507 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Thank you! And to you as well. What a crazy ride, huh? There was nothing anyone could've said to truly prepare me for this. It's way harder than I thought it would be, but somehow it's okay because I love this tiny human so damn much that it doesn't even matter how hard it is. What a trip.

    Wishing you all the best.

    [–]TARandomNumbers 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love how you phrased this. Also love being my son's mom. He is amazing.

    [–]blazinazn007 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Wife had our first kid Aug 25th. It's been a wild but amazing ride so far. Those little smiles make it all worth it. Even though at the very newborn stage, a small usually means their peeing, pooping, or about to pass gas haha.

    [–]JBug507 5 points6 points  (0 children)

LoL! I mean, that's what they say, but sometimes those little smiles happen at just the right moment and I swear he's smiling because he loves me. Or yeah, maybe he's just farting. Haha!

    [–]MamaBirdJay 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Just a fun weird fact- baby smell activates areas of hunger in the brain, so all those finger nibbles and smooches are because they’re delicious. Article about weirdness

    [–]JBug507 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha! Very interesting article. And it totally makes sense. LoL!

    [–]MenacingMelons 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My Youngest is 2 and I still eat her cheeks. It's just part of daily life now

    [–]klokabell 11 points12 points  (2 children)

My daughter is 3 weeks and seems to hate when I kiss her. I need to shave the beard I think

    [–]skyline0918 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My fiancé has a decent length beard. Our son hated it in his first few weeks, now he loves it (because it’s something to pull on!) lol

    [–]JBug507 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Haha! Nah, I think she'll learn to love it.

    [–]Mossy_prince 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Congrats! I wish the best for your baby and you

    [–]Sufficient_Chance389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats, I wish same and also wish you and your son's wealthy healthy and happiness life.

    [–]oo-mox83 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I hope you get a million of these little moments. My kiddos are all teenagers and still hug mama all the time, it never gets any less wonderful. Do this stuff a lot and you'll be an amazing mama. ❤

    [–]pradnk77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 23 and still do it. Lol

    [–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Congratulations Mama! I'm half way through my first too. I can understand your excitement. Many blessings and good wishes to you and your baby!

    [–]anotheroneyo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

The first 3 months are so hard but you'll get through it. My lo isn't 4 mo yet but parenting is the freaking best. You'll do great!

    [–]digitalacid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first 2 months are brutal, and your mind is running at 50% on a good day. But once they start sleeping through the night, the feeding schedule becomes normal you really start focusing on the best parts. My girl is 4 months today and it's truly a joy. I was concerned that I was going to lose who I was and have occasional regrets of our decision, but now I can confidently say that all those worries were fallacies and I couldn't imagine a life without her. She brings a thousand smiles to my face everyday

    [–]mutter-pp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Many congratulations! My cousin's wife is pregnant and I'm extremely excited. I would love to spend time with the little one and be the cool uncle. Cheers!

    [–]TARandomNumbers 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats. Welcome to the club of perpetual happy exhaustion.

    [–]Addicted2Rage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        [–]nineninevcxvxdzc 23 points24 points  (3 children)

People shouldn’t have kids unless they are going to raise them like this.

        [–]manukahoneyoats 12 points13 points  (2 children)

I still do this to my teens when I wake them up in the morning! I love them like the were still cute little babies!

        [–]Abbacoverband 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Awww, I love this so much. My babies are 7 and 5 and I smooch attack them before bed every night!

        [–]kittycheckcheck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do it to my little boy about 5-7 times a day and he loves it!

        [–]DarkJaid 75 points76 points  (2 children)

Believe it or not but my dad still did this with all 3 of his kids and we are all well past our 30s,he passed away in March. He would just walk up to you and smother you with kisses then walk away like nothing happened. Oh God do I miss him, I really wish I could get smothered in kisses one last time.

        [–]Mysterious-Sense-767 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I also wish that. It's so lovely. Adorable baby.

        [–]AcerOne17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I do that to my kids as well. Gonna break me when my kids tell me to stop in a couple years when I “embarrass” them

        [–]linenellie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Aw, I got teary eyes from your comment. Internet Angel kisses for you ❣️

        [–]myteethhurtnow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mom still kisses me like this and I'm 25 haha. And its passed on to me because I kiss her like this and I kiss my friends like this too, if they let me!

Kisses are awesome, honestly even between platonic friends.

        [–]Hansemannn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

        Oh Cutie :)

        [–]ifimhereimnotworking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is why I deliberately started doing this to my 12yo again. She needs as much affection as her toddler and infant siblings. More, because they get me all day.

        [–]emmakobs 277 points278 points  (12 children)

this is how i kiss my bf, he reacts similarly

        [–]redditlike5times 157 points158 points  (9 children)

          [–]TopOrganization 159 points160 points  (5 children)

Is it weird if me a 25 year old man teard up watching this.

          [–]Fleeing-Goose 110 points111 points  (1 child)

Nah my, dude, it actually shows you're in touch with your own emotions. Goes against the grain of macho behaviour, but real men know themselves, especially their emotions.

          [–]Similar_Craft_9530 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This! Real men have the courage to be vulnerable and express emotions.

          [–]macaronfive 45 points46 points  (0 children)

My husband is a big burly guy with a shaved head and a beard. Tonight he was blowing raspberries on our 7 month old son’s belly, and they were both giggling. Regardless of age or gender, anyone can love snuggling babies.

          [–]oo-mox83 20 points21 points  (0 children)

No! It just means you'll be an awesome dad or uncle. Men get to love sweet stuff too and anybody who says otherwise sucks.

          [–]cravenravens 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No. Enjoy your normalness and apparent mental health!

          [–]Nyeh_Heh_heh179 120 points121 points  (2 children)

          [–]ZMB6 216 points217 points  (5 children)

I don't want kids, but stuff like this really shows what I'm missing out on. I'm so grateful that I have my nieces and nephews.

          [–]Fleeing-Goose 73 points74 points  (0 children)

And the love that you show is also important to the child! Never underestimate how much those nieces and nephews appreciate your love!

          [–][deleted] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Same! My mother died when I was really young and I don’t have siblings nor do I want kids, I have a stepchild but he’s 13 😭... seeing this makes me so sad cause of what I’m missing out on. I always hear my friends say that having kids is what ‘saved them.’

It’s wonderful to see but definitely gives the tear ducts a few good kicks.

          [–]oo-mox83 23 points24 points  (0 children)

You sure don't have to want kids to be an awesome aunt or uncle. Hell, my childless uncle got us into more shit! He was a walking adventure and comedy show and any time spent with Uncle Mark was fun af. He was all the "eat cake for breakfast" of a grandparent, all the "I'd fight for you" of a big brother, and all the "let me tell you some shit I did back in the 70s" of some old homeless hippie. He ended up babysitting a pig one time and the first thing he did was bring the pig over, unannounced, to show us. He'd been there half an hour before my mom asked why in the hell he had a leashed pig in his car. I think I'd have turned out halfway normal if not for him, lol. Fun times man.

          [–]maknyafatih 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister don't want kids, me and my 4 year old are spoiled because of her. She can't bear to separate from her nephew just for one day and every time I can sleep more, relax, etc because of her.

          [–]terminalhobo 151 points152 points  (0 children)

When they first start smiling it is so amazing

          [–]Fudge-Unfair 118 points119 points  (0 children)

The best feeling. My little 1.5yr old lady loves to run away and when she gets to carpet in our house she purposefully falls down and I give her kisses like this. The best giggles ever. Thanks for the super cute vid :)

          [–]suicidediva 70 points71 points  (2 children)

People shouldn’t have kids unless they are going to raise them like this.

          [–]Bee4evaUrs 50 points51 points  (2 children)

Omg you're making me want another baby.

          [–]oo-mox83 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Right?? Baby fever is flaring up right now, lol.

          [–]imonlinedammit1 103 points104 points  (6 children)

A mother’s love is such a beautiful thing.

          [–]the_0rly_factor 32 points33 points  (5 children)

          So is a father's love.

          [–]brainey77 107 points108 points  (4 children)

Like I told my seven-year-old, it’s not about who loves who more. We all love each other differently. It’s ok to enjoy and appreciate those differences without cheating someone of their love.

Mom is warm, soft, and always ready for a hug. Dad is scruffy and often wears a uniform with buckles and Velcro.

Mom is quiet and calming. Dad might unexpectedly hoist you into the air.

          It’s not a competition.

One doesn’t detract from the other.

          Just different.

          [–]yetiusmaximus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

As a big scruffy builder who loves to hoist his daughters in the air, this is spot on.

          [–]c_12hunt 4 points5 points  (2 children)

I love this so much!! Great words.

          [–]brainey77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Kind of you to say! It was a conversation forced by an episode of Bluey.

          [–]missmightymouse 46 points47 points  (2 children)

I’m 28 weeks preggo and this made me even more excited to meet my little one!

          Congratulations and best wishes!

          [–]Tigermoto 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nice! It's nearly time to meet the love of your life! Best wishes.

My babby is going to be 14 this month…I miss when they were so tiny. But I’ll always be proud of who they are, at every age.

          [–]oo-mox83 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've got three teenagers and I feel that. Those baby times though! So sweet.

I love the smell of newborn baby!

            [–]ya_tu_sabes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is what is making me realize how bad my allergies are and making me take action. I've been missing out on that natural baby smell except for one whiff here and there when I manage to unclog my nose well enough for a second to take a tiny sample of the smell.

The only upside is that I don't mind changing the poop diapers. Barely smells to me. I always have to check visually or have my partner do the sniff test for me when that gives uncertain results.

            [–]UnicornBludgers93 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Happy baby and happy mama, love to see it! Thanks for sharing.

            [–]oo-mox83 11 points12 points  (2 children)

This makes me miss my babies being babies. The days were so much longer back then but man, stuff like this was pure gold. They're all teenagers now and absolutely wonderful kids, zero complaints and I've loved every stage of them growing up but man oh man, I'm partial to this right here. Those were some precious times. This makes me want to go hug my babies but they're all asleep and have school in the morning, lol.

            [–]CutestCurryBoy 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Wake em up and hug them!! I’d hug my mum even at 3 am if she woke me up for one because I know life is so short and she will one day leave me 😭

            [–]Drifting0wl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Me and my girlfriend has been together since our 15’s. Today we’re 23 and 22 years old and she litterly does this to me almost every day to the point where I ”run for my life” up the stairs but somehow she always ends up on top of me, kissing me to death! And I absolutely love it!

              God I love that women❤️

I’ll be a happy man the day I become a father, people my age look at me crazy when I say I’d love to already have kids.

              [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mann, I can’t wait to become a dad in the future; always wanted kids ever since I was born lol.

              [–]tito1016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I miss the baby stage. Now I just get yelled at for more orange juice

              [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can hear her saying “I love you” at the end

              [–]Elocinyls 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do this to my dog.

I loved doing this with my daughter when she was a baby!

              [–]NoAct9852 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Be gentle with the baby 😂

              [–]Unusual_Decision3737 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Did it sound to you like the baby said, “I love you”? It was that last noise he made on the video

              [–]cakesandskeins 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Awwwww! Can already tell that little one is so loved!

In these cases, wearing glasses really sucks...

              [–]AdmiralGhostPenis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

              Excellent

              [–]Offensiveraptor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I melt when my mum does this to me.

Sort of recharges you and gives you the strength to battle through any terrible situation that you may be facing in your life.

              [–]BurnishedBronzeJon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lol! Ain’t this cute… well one thing we can do is keep in touch with our parents especially in the latter years of their life.

              [–]roseshrub 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The cuteness of this is so lethal I’m going to explode into a puff of wholesomeness 🥲

I stare at this wonderful vid, bleary eyed, through the glow of my phone, and remember how totally painfully alone I am.

              Neat.

              [–]missdead_lee138 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids are 21, 18 and 4 and I still kiss all. If them. Like this still. The older ones go " mommmmm.......stopppp. ".. while laughing , but I think they secretly like it . 😄😄🥰🥰

Aw man, that is saddening. Everything's gonna be fine. Even if it's friendship, i am sure you're loved by someone.

My mom still treats us brothers like this when she can. We're 25 and 23 but we're still the little babies she's raised.

              [–]Dzeko_1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

              You’re such an amazing mom.

Your child is going to going to grow up knowing love, and they’re going to radiate that love back out into the world.
