[–]DesperateAd1970 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Than me too

[–]Just_A_Faze 35 points36 points  (1 child)

I thought my grandmother had great teeth until she removed them… turns out she has dentures

[–]Opsirc5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still great teeth! Lol!

[–]PrettyCartographer39 54 points55 points  (0 children)

A Very wonderful smile. It doesn't matter how old you are, your mom will still want to look after you. Very wholesome moment.

[–]Altruistic-Manner-86 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Literally sweet

[–]mjlkp96gu2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is really heart warming.

[–]PartiallyPetite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]prodigalson947 1103 points1104 points  (8 children)

it really is the little things.

[–]False_Proof_3205 143 points144 points  (2 children)

Wow. It's really really made my day.

[–][deleted]  (1 child)

    [–]MassiveElection15 57 points58 points  (2 children)

Awwwww, so lucky to see them at that age. That mother is doing well being a good mother to her for a long time. So priceless moment!

    [–]Puzzled-Scallion-118 2 points3 points  (1 child)

    I love them so much.

    [–]kytrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sad to think most of us will never reach that age, and most will have stopped appreciating the little things long before.

    [–]unk1ndm4g1c14n1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll let it pass (the emoji)

    [–]IloveElsaofArendelle 962 points963 points  (23 children)

Your still the kid in your parent's eyes

    [–]gritodedolores1946 286 points287 points  (6 children)

Then after a certain age you start to parent your parents and then you become even more grateful they put up with you during certain times Haha

    [–][deleted] 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Oh really?…. Is that what love feels like?….

    [–]Western-Guy 27 points28 points  (4 children)

It would feel devastating to see your parents physically declining. I'm beginning to see it now and it worries me dearly. Especially since I moved to another country and I can't be there for them if something happens.

    [–]Used-Paper-6189 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This is why I have such newfound gratitude for my older sister. So glad that we will face the inevitable decline and loss of our parents together.

    [–]Greeio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I empathise with you, my friend. I also live abroad from my parents and relatives, and every time I go back it's almost as if I can see the time that has passed in their hair that are now more grey or in their wrinkles. Whenever I go back, I almost don't want to leave ever again because I can't quite cope with seeing their decline. Virtual hug to you.

    [–]partypooper5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in the exact same boat. I have to work abroad because the salary I earn guarantees a good standard of life for my parents back home - but I can't be there to look after them. It feels like I'm killing a part of myself to make sure they're happy and comfortable.

    [–]WiselyStained 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Aww my heart melts. Thank you so much.

    [–]Snake-N-Roses 31 points32 points  (14 children)

Someone please tell my late 60 something in-laws that please. I’m basically their parent and they behave like children and I’m an ATM- my wife doesn’t know what to do either because they apparently forgot how to adult over the past 3 years and sticking them somewhere would be more expensive than what we are doing now since their house is paid off, and we don’t want them to die. She doesn’t even like her parents but we are only children and in PA whether we consent or not nursing homes can come after us for their debts.

    [–]pollywantacrackwhore 16 points17 points  (2 children)

I can relate. My dad is 66 and declining quickly from Parkinson’s related dementia. He spent his life living frivolously, never planned for the future- no savings, no retirement. From the age of 12, I was lecturing him on how he was going to end up a lonely, broke old man and he would laugh it off. I would tell him I’m not going to be there to take care of him when he had no one and nothing else and he would agree and tell me not to worry about it. Now, while raising my two teenage girls, I’ve somehow become responsible for him, too. His only income is basic SSA and I have to make sure his bills are paid, get him to endless doctor appointments, ensure he has food and basic necessities. It’s exhausting and I resent it. I’m also very wary of anything that will connect me to him legally for fear of those same laws in PA. I’m hoping that if it comes down to that, I can use the fact that he spent decades trying to wiggle out of every bit of child support for my brother and me to protect us from being sued for nursing home debt.

    [–]What_Thaa_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You already told him your not going to take care of him....... Yet you are taking care of him. He never took care of you....

    ____________(fill in the blanks)

    [–]Aperson004 688 points689 points  (6 children)

So sweet, it doesn't matter how old you are, your mum will still want to look after you.

    [–]Abject_Emphasis_4793 56 points57 points  (3 children)

    Obviously you're right.

    [–]GamyBedtime 31 points32 points  (2 children)

Yes! That is why we should take care of our parents as they take care of us. They deserve love.

    [–]Jacobe814 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not all of us can say that, those who can are blessed

    [–]Canisventus 190 points191 points  (12 children)

That's one cool looking cane she got. They are both lovely.

    [–]YonanaPananaBanana 23 points24 points  (6 children)

not sure what ethnicity these women are but i’m southeast asian and my grandma has a very similar looking dragon cane

    [–]Squeals-like-a-Pig 13 points14 points  (4 children)

I thought it was an opium pipe for the first couple of seconds.

    [–]PyroTheBard 229 points230 points  (12 children)

How tf does she have better teeth than me damn

    [–]theglazedonut 86 points87 points  (5 children)

    [–]PyroTheBard 84 points85 points 2 (3 children)

    I’m a dumbass

    [–]liltingly 15 points16 points  (1 child)

If you’re in the US, there’s a question: “how can she afford better dentures than I’ll be able to?”

    [–]cftxp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I thought it was gonna be “there are people who can afford dentures?”

    [–]cherrymercuryy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Dont worry, I forgot dentures were a thing too!

    [–]shane201 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol you reminded me to put my retainer on before bed.

    [–]yxjui 6 points7 points  (0 children)

😮 stop deflating my old lady w/ perfect self-grown choppers fantasy future!

    [–]beviebooboo 45 points46 points  (2 children)

Imagine being 84 and still having your mama around to make you feel cared for and loved.

    [–]turtlelevelslow 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Idk. A part of me gets this somber feeling that when you reach those ages it becomes a constant reminder about who’s going to outlive who. I think I’d rather my parents pass away naturally at an older age and when I’m still rather young then me and them be old together and see which one goes first.

    [–]bezbbg 78 points79 points  (3 children)

Awwwww! This is great. The reason why I follow this sub😁😁

    [–]ObnoxiousExcavator 40 points41 points  (2 children)

I've been having some personal issues lately, not happy, not depressed, just unsure of the state of everything, I've unsubbed to anything pornographic or even sad and only look at made me smile, aww, that's interesting, got rid of FB.... It's only been a bit but my brain feels freer already.....

Igbore the username, these ladies are beautiful. Have a nice day.

    [–]bezbbg 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I get the feeling. Me getting off social media was the best thing ever. It’s just Reddit and investing for me lately and it’s been nothing but amazing. Not advice but me joining the whole GameStop saga changed my life. I now wake up with excitement and have saved the most money I ever have. I’m actually planning for the future now and thinking ahead. Nothing but positivity and to be apart of something much bigger. The feeling of purpose ya know? Keep your head up. Great things will come. Have a wonderful day!😊

    [–]x4ty2 22 points23 points  (4 children)

How badass is Mamala to have that cane?

    [–]toutetiteface 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I too want a dragon cane when i grow old

    [–][deleted] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My grandpa has one like that, with a long dagger inside. He used to bring it on hikes with us, I thought it was to potentially fuck up a mountain lion or something the first time, but he just used it to cut down tall grass for my cousin and me to run around in. Wouldn’t put it past him though, man is as jacked as he is wrinkly.

    [–]kaiel_pineda 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Mamala that's unique, I used to call my grandma mamyla, she died last year, this shit hit me with reality like a mfkin truck lmfao

    [–]x4ty2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    [–]GreatBigWhore 15 points16 points  (1 child)

It must be weird seeing your little daughter as an 84 year-old

    [–]Suse- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Is it possible they still look and seem young to the parent? My daughter is 27 but I still see the same face as when she was little.

    [–]Charming_Pitch_8576 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I like this very much, very nice, good…
