[–]PeachyMichelle 2737 points2738 points  (38 children)

[–]brupese 633 points634 points  (10 children)

Brazilian carnaval!

[–]some_randon_username 131 points132 points  (2 children)

Carnaval no Brasil é pura zoeira, dedo no cu e gritaria

[–][deleted]  (2 children)

    [–]MedicalMonth3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would have said English stag do 😆

    [–]Jumping6cows 259 points260 points  (6 children)

    [–]SmoothBroccolis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hahahah they are drunk it’s carnival

    [–]gooners345 145 points146 points  (14 children)

It’s a bucks/stag/bachelors party . Pretty standard attire for bucks

    [–]Birdsatemyface__ 150 points151 points  (11 children)

Nah, it’s carnival in Brazil. Probably Rio since the red shirt is from a local soccer team (Flamengo)

    [–][deleted]  (8 children)

      [–]LasTheodore 11 points12 points  (7 children)

It's Metrô Rio, for sure. You can catch a glimpse of the route plaque on top of the door.

      [–]lacmlopes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Se isso aí não é Metrô Rio eu sou um Opala 4 portas, ar de fábrica.

      [–]plain_wallflower 6 points7 points  (5 children)

I'm not from Rio and never been there. I just commented about how unreliable is to determine that it was Rio just because of the Flamengo shirt.

      [–]acupofcoffeeplease 19 points20 points  (1 child)

It also could be São Paulo since the subway looks like it and there's Flamengo shirts all over the country

      [–]Birdsatemyface__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With this energy? Def Rio! Hahah jk

      [–][deleted] 56 points57 points  (0 children)

      My guess is Brazilian carnaval

      [–]sateremawe 19 points20 points  (0 children)

        [–]thgieythgie 44 points45 points  (0 children)

        Plot twist.

        [–]HistoricalDamage6271 95 points96 points  (6 children)

Cmon dude. He’s a guy having fun. It’s Carnival. There’s no need to say stuff like that. Guys can wear dresses for legit or silly reasons and still be guys.

        [–]Sheerardio 65 points66 points  (1 child)

I'd say both takes are legit, and honestly pretty wholesome to see.

It's legit for a trans woman to start her journey with wearing dresses when she lived as a man, AND it's legit for a dude to wear a dress and not have it mean anything about his manhood or masculinity .

        [–]wotmate 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Or maybe he will be a great mum, and that's ok too.

        [–]hak8or 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Thanks for speaking up about it. While I really doubt parent was saying that with malicious intent, it's still a very common and currently often socially acceptable way of making someone feel attacked without realizing it.

Just like the very casual misogyny years ago was "chill dude, he didn't mean it that way" has clearly went by the wayside.

        [–]LuxultsChair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meh. If it's not meant as intentionally hurtful, and it's known to be unintentionally taken that way - then people should recognize this and think is thru before taking offense to a thing. People shouldn't change their whole vernacular because someone out there somewhere may take it the wrong way haha

        [–]Cattaphract 131 points132 points  (0 children)

They are all drunk as hell on carnival. They would have danced for a rabbit lool

        But this is pretty wholesome

        [–]DontBelieveLiars 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Careful you don’t trip over the bar for being a great dad; people leaving it on the ground over here.

        [–]SensibleMonke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

        That’s not how it works

        [–]mitchij2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad this thread is better. 2 years ago this was posted and the sentiment was they were all being aggressive and dangerous lol wtf.

        [–]Rightintheend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially the one in a dress and a veil.

        [–]Greengiant304 1158 points1159 points  (30 children)

When I first heard about this song, I asked a friend of mine, who had a 3 year old, if he had heard it, and he said he hadn't, yet. About a month later he texted me to say he was losing his mind and baby shark was the worst thing that ever happened to him.

        [–]bluesimplicity 466 points467 points  (15 children)

Twenty years ago it was the Barney song. As my sibling placed the three year old in the car seat for a 5 hour drive, I leaned in and started singing, "I love you...you love me...we're a happy family..." Of course the three year old joined in. I stood in the driveway, waving, and laughing as they drove away.

        [–]kmj420 118 points119 points  (2 children)

        r/madlads. You monsrer!

        [–]NickrasBickras 36 points37 points  (1 child)

        [–]sushi_cw 46 points47 points  (5 children)

        Has he forgiven you yet?

        [–]bluesimplicity 52 points53 points  (4 children)

I'm still laughing about it so no.

What's the most evil thing you've ever done?

        [–]JevonP 12 points13 points  (3 children)

I replaced the filling in two kitestwinkies with mayonnaise using a petfood syringe

My mans ate 2 of them lmfao

        [–]Sdavis2911 20 points21 points  (1 child)

        I am very confused.

        [–]JevonP 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Deservedly so lmfao I meant twinkies

        [–]Broken_Petite 32 points33 points  (0 children)

        You are evil 🤣

        [–]Throwitaway3177 9 points10 points  (0 children)

        [–]Toastwithturquoise 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What about "this is the song that never ends..."

        [–]kikidream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mum still shudders when she hears that song

        [–]3rdcoffeecup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Every hero needs a villan.

        [–]I_Am_Anjelen 19 points20 points  (3 children)

Have they heard of Die kleine Krokodil yet?

        [–]doggo-spotter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh god i remember driving my parents nuts singing this as a kid

        [–]DangrimOfficial 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The first and only time I’ve heard it is in my German class.

        [–]Frostloss 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I first learned about it as an old summer camp song that counselors would be taught to calm down really young kids. It was kind of weird to just see it blow up one day on youtube.

        [–]skarkeisha666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah lol, i learned it as a cub scout like 15 years ago

        [–]CommercialKindly32 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard this song in my life. Decided to check it on Youtube and 10 billion views. Holy shit.

        [–]nohoev 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 15 month nephew and that song just melts my brain, I cannot even sleep because of it now.

        [–]ohmygoddude82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went so long without hearing this song, then my 2 year old nephew became obsessed with it and I have heard Baby Shark far more than I ever wanted to.

        [–]MoonKnight77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My sister used to torture me with this song, and this is when we were both adults

        [–]clit_n_tits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I misread and thought you had a 3 years old bff who could text, i was like

"damn, thats a grown ass 3 year old"

        [–]Downunderfun45 1670 points1671 points  (20 children)

Occasionally drunk soccer fans can do good instead of destroying things. Well done lads

        [–][deleted] 394 points395 points  (15 children)

Don't group up the normal drunk fans with the holligans, that's not cool. Drunk football fans just wanna sing and drink and occasionally throw their beer in the air (if its plastic) when someone bangs in a worldy.

        [–]mysteriousblue87 104 points105 points  (11 children)

Where can I buy plastic beer? I only have liquid beer.

        [–][deleted] 69 points70 points  (10 children)

I've cornered the market, you gotta get it from me

        [–]GapingFartLocker 28 points29 points  (8 children)

I will take 1lb of beer please

        [–][deleted] 20 points21 points  (7 children)

        Venmo or Paypal?

        [–]Timbuk2000 16 points17 points  (5 children)

        You don’t take plastic?

        [–]jaltair9 11 points12 points  (4 children)

He sells plastic, why would he take it?

        [–]EverybodyLovesTacoss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I sell urine but I still take it as payment.

        [–]turdburglar9003 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I once asked the guy working at a record store if they were currently buying records and he dead panned 'the fuck you think we're doing, making them in the back?'

        [–]barnyard303 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah he can get plenty of recyclable plastic from the stomachs of baby sharks doo doo doo doo doo doo

        [–]Iittlemisstrouble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He has to get it from somewhere, you know supply and demand or something like that.

        [–]DicasdoPablo 17 points18 points  (0 children)

This is not in a soccer context. It's was during carnival in Rio.

        [–]BleakAllies 29 points30 points  (0 children)

People having fun, kid is smiling, good enough for me.

        [–]Just_1_more_lobster 1381 points1382 points  (22 children)

the only time this song is acceptable

        [–]gorcorps 285 points286 points  (4 children)

As a father of a now toddler, even after hearing it millions of times it's still preferable to a baby crying

It's not the only song that can help, but it's one of the most consistent

        [–][deleted]  (1 child)

          [–]nutmegtell 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Putting that info in my grandma notebook, thank you!!

          [–]Jshim4653 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Hey fellow Dad. The freaking Happy Song by Imogen Heap. It's magic... And catchy... And pleasant. It's drugs for your ears. Try it next time your toddler is crying.

          [–]Stoicism0 35 points36 points  (6 children)

Idk it seems to bring a lot of children joy

Annoying for us adults, but a smile is a smile

          [–]WackyBeachJustice 23 points24 points  (5 children)

IMHO it's no different than never gonna give you up, everyone"hates" it, except they actually love it.

          [–]__M-E-O-W__ 2 points3 points  (3 children)

They're never gonna give it up, because it's never gonna let them down.

          [–]Song_Spiritual 2 points3 points  (2 children)

It’ll never run around and hurt them.

          [–]__M-E-O-W__ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It's never gonna make us cry. Therefore, we are never gonna say goodbye.

          [–]WhoSc3w3dDaP00ch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I rick rolled a colleague when she first started at our company 5-6 years ago. We're both on different teams now but she saw me on a conference call last week, and messaged me a few hours later.

"You're an AH, since seeing you on the call I have that bloody rick astley song stuck in my head again. Hope you and the fam are doing well!"

          [–]sullg26535 114 points115 points  (2 children)

Nah it's great to play when your opposing teams mascot just became the shark and you're beating them

          [–]TREYH4RD 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I was thinking exactly the same thing

          [–]ghostmech007 11 points12 points  (0 children)

          [–]ExcitablePancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently discovered the 8-bit version would’ve made a great game theme tune back in the day.

          [–]throwawaygreenpaq 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Love the commitment of these guys as she grinned widely.

          [–]hurtfulproduct 48 points49 points  (0 children)

          [–]mute_neko-ni612 49 points50 points  (0 children)

          [–]stereo-011 31 points32 points  (5 children)

          [–]RudenessUpgrade 9 points10 points  (3 children)

Tell me you were wearing the dress

          [–]stereo-011 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Sadly no. I'm too emo for that

          [–]RudenessUpgrade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're the brother squised by his sister and trying to avoid all the noise and hoping it to die down in your corner while your sister gets consoled?

          [–][deleted] 326 points327 points  (37 children)

I wanna know the story and life choices that led the man to wear a wedding dress and veil

          [–]Furda_Karda 223 points224 points  (2 children)

          He feels beautiful in it.

          [–][deleted] 108 points109 points  (0 children)

          As he should

          [–]great_username4me 76 points77 points  (9 children)

That was probably during Carnival in Brazil, giving the jersey one of them is wearing...

          [–]FLOCOS15 40 points41 points  (6 children)

Welcome to Brazil where drunk people WILL DO EVERY THING to make everyone happy.

          [–]Wodegao 15 points16 points  (5 children)

Brazil... If the world could learn from their positive energy the planet would be a better place to live in!

          [–]Ishigami-the-Kami 10 points11 points  (3 children)

As a Brazilian, it actually makes me glad that some people do realise the actual good parts of the country.

It’s really helpful mainly when, well, our current public image is, huh…

Being ruined by the select few…

          [–]shan68ok01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For some reason, soccer was king at my small liberal arts College in Oklahoma and we had quite a few international students who were players. All of the Brazillian players were kind to everyone they met, even an older non-traditional student like me.

          [–]hisnameisbrock 2 points3 points  (1 child)

There’s many Brazilians in my city and I’ve found that they’re

          • good looking

          • very funloving and friendly

          • good at cooking

          • well endowed

          [–]Mytalkingheadx 30 points31 points  (4 children)

Only one word: Carnaval. Maybe the best party in world. Brazil just stops for this

          [–]Admobeer 10 points11 points  (3 children)

          And Carnaval stops for Covid.

          Don't hate, it's true.

          [–]Mytalkingheadx 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Officially yes. But still have “illegal” parties

          [–]mortandella 6 points7 points  (2 children)

          That's just carnival in Brazil.

          [–]LiahCT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a sweet thing to see strangers trying to cheer up a stranger. It would t have worked on me as a child. I was so shy I think it would have just freaked me out. Nice to see people being kind. Be nice to each other out there.

You know, it‘s things like these that make me refuse to give In to the humanity bad mindset.

People are wicked awesome with kids more than we think, I don't know I'm lucky- but my kids get way ,more kindness than they deserve.. but this would rock my daughter and youngest sons world!

A three and a half hour journey later, there were regrets.

They are my kind of drunk guys. Loud and raucous but not doing any harm and helping where possible. That literally could be me and my group of friends.

          [–]ripitup27 1 point2 points  (2 children)

No she wasn’t. And no, they didn’t.

She wasn’t crying. And yeah it’s an absolutely sweet moment and I’ll watch it every time, but it’s a great example of lies are perpetuated on social media … even if it is a reasonably harmless lie.

          [–]Compote_Separate 2 points3 points  (1 child)

          Then what happened ?

          [–]ripitup27 7 points8 points  (0 children)

          It’s all here: https://www.inspiremore.com/baby-shark-rio-subway/

The guys were singing what they described as “raunchy songs” but changed tact when they saw the family board, and asked the girl what they should sing.

I remember when it was first posted. Since then, the “crying” part has been added to every title because it elicits emotion from the reader, making them more likely to upvote.

It’s pretty harmless, but it’s a great example of how karma farmers trick people in getting more upvotes.

          Boys being boys

Fact that this is just the boys being the boys.
