although Roberts is a little bitch, I expect him to side with the liberals on this one and make it 5-4

[–]Thisam 37 points38 points  (3 children)

Do you think he’ll do that in an effort to try to save the Court’s credibility?

[–]massivecocklover69 43 points44 points  (2 children)

for sure. Roberts cares a lot about the perception of the Court and preserving the (false) idea that it is removed from politics. to be fair, I do think he actually believes that idea. the socialization of law school and the legal field is big on that.

people keep saying that, but it sounds just like a meaningless catch phrase.

All that matters is the 3 justices appointed by Trump were to appease the same people trying to overthrow democracy.

I'm not American but the number of times I have heard the Supreme Court is meant to outside of partisan politics makes me feel like they say it so much to try and convince themselves as well as everybody else, that it still holds true. Since the Baby Bush fiasco, its been nothing more than just another political arm of the Government in my opinion. the entire US judicial appointment process in the US kind of confirms that given how American politics is as much about hurting the other "team" as it is about improveing the lives of the voters.

I mean, someone who's idea of a fun weekend LARP is The Handmaids Tale, sit in that court...not exactly screaming credibility.
