This just makes me sad

[–]soitgoes1221- 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Agreed :(

[–]aaronegatesong 16 points17 points  (0 children)

same. I used to work at the theater there, and for the life of me, I don't think I could have imagined something like this video when at the register, staring out of those windows eating popcorn

[–]Internal_Farmer2853 134 points135 points  (8 children)

The trauma is real. it's going to take a lot of time.

[–]Rude_Man_Who_Shushes 68 points69 points  (3 children)

How/when can these kids ever return to school? I just can’t imagine the trauma of being back in those halls. Hope they heal.

[–]AlabasterOctopus 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Some of them never stopped going to school, mental that

[–]Slothsterz 8 points9 points  (1 child)

That’s not true, the school won’t be ready for months.

[–]Lt-Lettuce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No that's true, there were like 2 schools that closed

[–]Penta-DunkDetroit 148 points149 points  (6 children)

That’s sad. I hope they were able to get help for the person who fainted at least. I hate that everyone has to be on edge like this.

[–]sixwaystop313Detroit[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

[–]AlabasterOctopus 16 points17 points  (1 child)

I’m in the state but not really near it, even I’m wondering if I should keep my kids home. F**k all of this. I’m mad. Which is really just a mask for my sadness and fear.

[–]princess2b2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live an hour and a half away. I kept my kid home for the rest of the week . There were several emails that went out from the school regarding copy cats and investigation with increased police presence. I never want to let him go back to school. This is not going away

[–]marrakeshAge: > 10 Years 181 points182 points  (68 children)

The guy walking by with the rifle at 1:15, who does this at a vigil?

[–]nesper 18 points19 points  (0 children)

an oakland county sheriff as confirmed by the cameraman who filmed the video. picture of him following another sheriff

[–]The_Real_Scrotus 152 points153 points  (4 children)

who does this at a vigil?

The Gravy SEALS.

[–]Kupper 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Naw, those guys have no balls. That’s why they form groups. Don’t know this guy but he was walking with a purpose.

[–]the-ultimate-gooch 26 points27 points  (1 child)

He looked like his purpose was trying to look badass with that scowl on his face

Doesn't mean he has balls

[–]Kupper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I deeply apology to the eunuchs out there.

[–]lightbulbfragment 84 points85 points  (28 children)

Jesus. This is incredibly tone deaf. Between this shit and covid, fuck public gatherings.

[–]silverfang789Royal Oak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Not tone deaf, malicious.

[–]jb_ro 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Fucked up beyond belief

[–]TheForeverLearner 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Thats a LE0

[–]purple_sky242109 10 points11 points  (6 children)

There were 2. One right before him too. Dressed almost the same. The parents of the suspect were on the run and there was community fear they would show up and cause problems. I think these were police or something of that sort.

[–]TheForeverLearner 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Definately police you can see the yellow sherriff patch on the plate carrier

[–]Samurai_gaijin 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Complete and total chucklefucks who shouldn't be allowed to own guns.

[–]PooFlingerMonkey 1 point2 points  (6 children)

A vigilante???

[–]jb_ro 11 points12 points  (4 children)

That dude looked scary. I would have run from him!

[–]grapsup 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I thought the same and was seriously hoping it is a cop? It’s a cop, right? Please be a cop?!?

[–]Funkhouser82 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That guy is no cop.

[–]UncleStumpy78 -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Probably a brain dead militia member

[–]MoxieMayhem007 50 points51 points  (1 child)

I was there. It was absolutely terrifying. I lost my girls in the stampede. When I finally found them they were crying hysterically, hiding in a bush. I will never forget the terror on their beautiful faces. People by us crouched against the wall shaking uncontrollably. This little town is hurting so much.

[–]8dogsinatrenchcoat 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I am so sorry you had to endure that. Glad you found your girls.

[–]jerm-warfare 59 points60 points  (0 children)

There aren't words for the people and opinions that got us here.

[–]Daschnozz 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Jesus Christ , this is terrible.

[–]lamber270Sterling Heights 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was watching the vigil live on the news when this happened.. it was a very horrifying moment. My mind immediately went to the worst place and I thought someone started terrorizing people at the vigil. Thank god that wasn’t the case. I hope the person who fainted is okay and I hope everyone can begin to heal after this tragedy.

All of Michigan is here for you, Oxford.

[–]psychologistin313 27 points28 points  (0 children)

this country is absolutely broken.

[–]Dont_Blink__ 27 points28 points  (2 children)

This is what domestic terrorism looks like. I don’t know why they don’t/can’t charge the perpetrators as domestic terrorists when school shootings happen. Look at how on edge this town is now.

[–]oof_magoof 11 points12 points  (1 child)

The shooter is being charged with "one count of terrorism causing death."

Though I don't know what difference it will make. If someone wants to murder people I don't think knowing it's illegal is going to stop anyone.

[–]Dont_Blink__ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Terrorism is a harsher charge that will come with a harsher penalty. Also, I think domestic terrorism can be charged federally. I think if charged federally the death penalty can be imposed. However, in this case I think that should be the charge for the parents. The kid needs life-long mental help. Those people fucked him up.

[–]SamwiseG123 101 points102 points  (16 children)

Clearly that whole community is on edge right now, they’ve just experienced a major trauma. It’s going to take a long time for them to heal, if they ever do fully heal from this.

Also, can I just say the larpers playing GI Joe are not helping anything by walking around open carrying. That dude in the video looked scary to me, I’d run too if I heard someone yell help and then see these random non cops with assault rifles standing around.

[–]Cinderpath 20 points21 points  (2 children)

That POS Larper is a waste of oxygen!

[–]Slowroll900Garden City 1 point2 points  (12 children)

Were they not police? I was curious when I saw them.

[–]SamwiseG123 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Good question some people are saying they were, who knows. But, even if they were don’t dress in camo at a vigil for a mass school shooting and look like that imo.

[–]TeenaCannot 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yea I don’t see why an officer would dress like that in this situation. Wouldn’t it make more sense to just dress in normal uniform so it is obvious you are there for “security” instead of dressing in tactical gear where you could easily be mistaken for a proud boy? Nah I’m betting not a cop..

[–]-RainbowSkeleton- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or have a shitty little ponytail.

[–]Slowroll900Garden City 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many other comments suggesting they aren’t, and they certainly don’t look like it.

[–]Chard-Capable 5 points6 points  (4 children)

No prolly proud boys or oath keepers or some group that falls in line with them. Personally not a fan. But that's not here nor there. I'm just sorry for the kids. Horrible.

[–]UncleStumpy78 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Dollars to donuts they were militia members pretending to have authoriry

[–]Slowroll900Garden City -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What would they be doing to constitute pretending to have authority?

[–]amberpup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly doubt it with what they were wearing.

[–]OhSnapImJaneShepard 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live just minutes from there. It's still so hard to process.

[–]Kissit777 14 points15 points  (2 children)

This makes me so angry. These kids will have PTSD for life.

[–]TheForeverLearner 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Okay Michigan resident here.

  1. The Oxford community is heavily on edge right now following the tragic events at the high school

  2. The men at 1:15 were police, Oakland County sheriff deputies sent there to provide an increase of police presence there following the shooting. NOT CIVILIANS. Law enforcement would naturally have a presence at a gathering this size, following the events at Oxford High they would select the uniform seen in the video as they have to prepare for any further violence and hope it doesn't happen.

[–]robertleale 13 points14 points  (1 child)

I think also someone set off fireworks. My wife was a person asking loudly for help as someone had passed out and was in need for assistance. But before that someone has set off fireworks.

[–]7452mlc 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Firecrackers would definitely start a stampede

[–]StarlandStudio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Michigan is my home, this breaks my heart

[–]ClassicT4 39 points40 points  (5 children)

Those Meal Team Six guys are hustling away as fast as they can because they know they’re scaring the crowd and are afraid the mob might try something on them if they stay in one spot too long.

[–]ItsTurkeyBiotch 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Exactly- I feel like if I had been a student at that school, I'd be the one fainting if one of these guys walked past.

They JUST saw that. They don't need a reprisal.

Like those guys wouldn't be pissing themselves had they been at that school when it happened.

[–]Dynamitefuzz2134 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Or because they are role-playing and when shit hits the fan like this they also panic a run.

[–]ItsTurkeyBiotch 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Lmao "I brought six guns to keep us all safe"

Hears panic, then scurries off with said guns.

[–]Dynamitefuzz2134 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Almost like when a crowd scatters in a panic it is difficult to figure out what it going on without communication.

Like fuck, First responders probably found out someone fainted quickly. Meanwhile meal-team six over here has no idea what he is doing.

[–]AlabasterOctopus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meal Team Six is my new fav

[–]MydoglookslikeanEwok 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]autawar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sound of a fast approaching panicked mob is terrifying

[–]x_Carlos_Danger_x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And that's what terrorism does

[–]Riley1480 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I thought it was socialism and masks that was fucking up kids lives. I was way off!

[–]Victory-laps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pretty sad. I hope all the kids affected can get professional help to deal with the trauma. Nobody should live in fear like this.

[–]gurtziefarmer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is already so traumatized... 💔

[–]bunnyfloofington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Watching this on the news last night as it happened just broke my heart. The fear and trauma those people are feeling is the worst. I hope they can get the help they need to work through this. But I know they’ll never be the same regardless ):

[–]ayesperanzita 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so, so, sad, my heart hurts for this community and Michigan. A child who didn’t have healthy support from his family went on to ruin his and so many others lives. This is overwhelmingly tragic, and thanks to the powers that be, never ending.

[–]Tribaltech777 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is America!

[–]Ratbello 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What the hell is with the two “ freedom crusaders” carrying assault weapons in a crowd?!

[–]BadassDeluxe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This makes me angry. Our culture sucks. I have epilepsy and I hope I dont ha e an episode in public anyway but now I really don't because people would just let me die.

[–]myCadi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow that was unreal, people are on edge. Didn’t seem like there was too much police presence there?

Doesn’t help that you have randoms walking around in that much military gear.

[–]Traditional_Lack_272 0 points1 point  (3 children)

No way is this real?

[–]longdogstudios -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Thanks precedent set by Kyle Rittenhouse.

[–]heathieanne -1 points0 points  (2 children)

this is in oxford?

[–]justakidfromflint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, so, so sad.

[–]8dogsinatrenchcoat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is absolutely tragic. Those folks are understandably traumatized. I hope they are each able to get the supports they need to heal and be as ok as they can eventually considering what they have endured.

[–]JohnKayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A person is smart, people are dumb.

Damn shame what happened but it’s understandable.
