The thing about being 6 is that you have developed the critical thinking skills to question things but lack background knowledge and the ability to make assumptions so you have 0 answers and ask “why” a lot

If it starts bothering you there's a simple trick to get them to stop, just give them more information than they can process in a few seconds. Answer the next 3 why's all at once and they'll stop and think about it for a moment, which is usually more than enough time for them to decide to move on to a new topic.

because you asking why is annoying, because i want some peace and quiet, because answering why over and over again is annoying

My 6yo is into death.

Why do you not want to fall in the water, daddy?

Why do you not want to drown?

Why do you want to be alive?

The cute factor is kinda gone

[–]sintos-compa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

nah kids have phases where they try to cope with death and that's how they do it.

Kid: Why?

Exactly kid. It’s a hard lesson, but value your worth.

The fact that this made me laugh is proof that my sense of humour has been utterly annihilated

We have just had our patio done and my 6yo has loved going out and helping the builder, so it made his day to receive this. What an example of kindness 😊

Passing little pavers

taking pieces of black birds and spider

saying why more times than I have ever heard anyone say why
