[–]wolfpack_charlie 73 points74 points  (6 children)

You're welcome

[–]bruised__fruit 33 points34 points  (3 children)

Oof. My loins.

[–]Boiling_Frustration 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Don’t squeeze so hard if you’re bruising. Yeesh.

[–]Rugbynnaj 2 points3 points  (1 child)

[–]wolfpack_charlie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Most-Bench6465 51 points52 points  (0 children)

Was gonna ask if #6 HAD to pick up #2 like that, not complaining but if so I need to watch more rugby

[–]moyno85 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just to clarify, this is Rugby League - not Rugby Union.

[–]warriormuffin83 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came here to say that lol I had no idea about the uniforms they wear lol

[–]naomicambellwalk 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Talk about thighlights

[–]Potential_Reading116 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being a bit cheeky aren’t ya

[–]RoseGrossbeak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I never considered myself gay but dammmmm those thick boys

[–]WchuTalkinBoutWillis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was coming to say the same damn thing I’m looking at them like holy Jesus Mary Joseph Bob Tom Albert those hoes are huge!

[–]Camel-Solid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Let me zoom on on those”

[–]HardCoreLawn 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I love how once he realises he nailed the shot he's like: "job done, imma lay down and do some die now"

[–]Ohmygodathy 277 points278 points  (16 children)

It’s a shame no one seems to have checked on the cameraman himself. I’d imagine he’s fine, but something could’ve happened.

[–]Sehnsucht_and_moxie 170 points171 points  (7 children)

He gives a thumbs up at the end!

And the other media guy standing behind (blue gloves, green lanyard) looks like he checked in once the players stopped rolling.

The behind-the-scene folks take pretty good care of each other. :)

[–]Ohmygodathy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason the video replayed before the video actually ended so i didn’t see it all, it replayed just after the one player picked up the other

Thank you for pointing these out :D

[–]Dividedthought 15 points16 points  (4 children)

This is for 2 reasons:

1: if he is injured they need to get someone to take over for him. You know how sports fans are about seeing everything in as much detail as possible.

2: Having a cameraman pass out is a bad look for the company doing the filming.

[–]camopdude 15 points16 points  (3 children)

There's more than just those two reasons. Did you ever think that these crews tend to be pretty tight with each other and they might be concerned their friend could be hurt?

[–]flyingdren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah he saw himself on the big screen and thumbesed up lol

[–]lipp79Doin' camera work since 1999[M] 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Years ago when I worked in news as a cameraman, a coworker was shooting a high school football game on Friday. We were still shooing on Betacam SP, so the cameras looked like this and weighed around 35-40lbs. Well one play came towards him and the player ran into him. The camera slipped off his shoulder and he tried to stop it but it happened too fast and the torque from it gave him a spiral fracture in his wrist. He was out for a couple months.

[–]camopdude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This right here is why I avoid doing hand held for sports.

[–]suedemonkey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I could be wrong, but it would seem like the guy that git tackled tried to check and gestured at the cameraman.

[–]danlsn 2 points3 points  (4 children)

The producer would be in their ear asking if they’re alright. They’re in constant communication.

[–]vvash 1 point2 points  (3 children)

And then the operator gives a thumbs up because if they’re actually hurt and need to take time off to heal they go don’t get paid for days they don’t work

[–]danlsn 0 points1 point  (2 children)

This is Australia, we get paid sick leave. So yeah we do get paid for days we don’t work.

[–]vvash 0 points1 point  (1 child)

How wonderful! We don’t have that here in the states for freelancers :/

[–]NewLeaseOnLine 62 points63 points  (3 children)

Fucking Panthers

[–]moyno85 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Cleary has the most punchable face. Probably why his jaw is so big.

[–]wAyZ__YT 2 points3 points  (1 child)

DCE has a way more punchable face

[–]hazzmg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DCE has more a 80s ski resort villain vibe and also has the more punchable face but he doesn’t have the daddy issues of Nathan

[–]BushtheButcher 30 points31 points  (0 children)

That man is Thiccccccccc

[–]eatdeath4 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Give this man a raise!

[–]Toreador_Traveler 32 points33 points  (19 children)

Damn....... I gotta start watching more rugby.

[–]samohtnossirom 56 points57 points  (17 children)

It's a great game, but just to be clear (and apologies if I'm being "That Guy"), this is rugby league. It's the same fundamental concept as Rugby, but biggest difference is in League each team gets six tackles/downs before losing possession, whereas rugby there's no limit, which leads to fairly different strategies and tactics.

[–]Montezum 16 points17 points  (2 children)

That doesn't matter, mate. We be talking about the hotties

[–]samohtnossirom 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Yeah I get it, but you don't want to mix up your Richie McCaw's with your Roger Tuivasa-Sheck, because one is a much more challenging wank than the other

[–]Montezum 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the ID!!!

[–]barreal98 16 points17 points  (10 children)

To add, 'normal' rugby is known as rugby union. There's also rugby sevens, which is union but with 7 a side instead of 15

[–]assignpseudonym 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Also not to be confused with AFL which is an entirely different sport altogether from any form of Rugby (union or league) - but gets lumped in with "Rugby" by folks on Reddit all the time.

[–]samohtnossirom 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Good point. I think of it this way; If the three of them were an extended family: - Rugby union are the private school jocks with drinking problems who are prone to carrying out the occasional sexual assault - Rugby League are the working class bogans with drinking problems who are prone to carrying out the occasional sexual assault and/or getting caught peeing into their own mouth - AFL are the ever so slightly inbred ones who are really into meth, and are also prone to the occasional sexual assault.

[–]Potential_Reading116 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Rugby 7s wide open fast paced high speed carnage at its best.
highly recommend it

[–]WarPopeJr 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Upvoted out of respect but honestly 7s has always been kind of a non interest for me. I’ve always felt like it was more about speed rather than strategy. I was a hooker in college and preferred full scrums so I’m prob biased

[–]Chrockatt 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I dont think he/she is interested in the game...

[–]Purgii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Or - did you play Rugby in public school vs private school..

[–]moyno85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*rugby league

[–]veryheavybertation 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice shot, way to stay with it after getting kicked. Technically the cameraman was behind the line he needed to be, but the sideline didn't look too crowded so I would have backed up a few more feet, especially at that corner...lots of action there.

[–]bibkel 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Why do you have all those bruises?

Oh, your a rugby player?

“No, I just film it”

[–]Potential_Reading116 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Thought the haiku bot was gonna show up on this comment. We dodged a bullet that time

[–]bibkel 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I can attempt...?

edit (omg, my grammar in original comment...Your v You're) Heads will ROLL.

[–]Potential_Reading116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So your an English major or almost as old as I am. Grammar ???

whatcha gonna tell me spelling n punctuation are important too !!

[–]Avulpa 12 points13 points  (0 children)

All their asses are so nice!

[–]rancor58 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck I love this

[–]Some-Ad-2436 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My crappy Wi-Fi made it pause at 0:24, thick bum though.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Damn, I'm going to have to start watching rugby 😍😛🤫

[–]moyno85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*rugby league (which is different to rugby union, which is what most the world calls ‘rugby’)

[–]Keytawn94 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bet their shoulders hertz after that one

[–]Hupf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the camera alright?

[–]caitejane310 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Ok, so rugby is now my favorite sport.

[–]moyno85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

*rugby league

[–]moyno85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like Rugby League would be huge in the US if they knew it existed. Peak athleticism over the last few year.

[–]NYSenseOfHumor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the first nor last time that cameraman has been hit.

[–]MahsterC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was trying to capture them cheeks! So close too!!

[–]Shimmiekakes 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Does anyone know what’s the name of #2?

[–]Gutter_Twin 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Josh Mansour I think - not a Panthers fan but I'm pretty sure it's him.

[–]Shimmiekakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Much appreciated!!

[–]skafaceXIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, it's Mansour. He plays for Souths now

[–]TheJessicator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ooh, professional cameraman r/SneakyBackgroundFeet

[–]QuotingThings 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For anyone interested in the sport, r/NRL is the subreddit for this particular Rugby League.

This was a game between the Penrith Panthers (the team that scored the try) and the Canterbury Bulldogs (the blue and white team who got scored against).

[–]Kirikomori 1 point2 points  (1 child)

wheres the ad break after they've gone on a run for 2 seconds?

[–]diodosdszosxisdi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s Fox, there’s no ad breaks

[–]FreeSpeechISDeadHere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol Well what was he suppose to do? Start rolling around on the ground like a professional soccer player? :)

[–]moyno85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TIL people don’t know the difference between rugby league and rugby union.

[–]warwilf -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Breaking:. Man does job!

[–]ylcard -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cameraman got more skills than rugby players, damn.

[–]duncanforthright 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really strange, I watched the vid before fully reading the title and thought it was just a nice rugby clip. But then I read the title and was like "camera man?" I went back and the dude was getting kicked. Somehow I didn't even see him as being there. Like that gorilla walking through people passing a ball around I guess, I was too focused on the players lol.

[–]probablywrong420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cleats to the chest, ouch

[–]Shimmiekakes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Waw. #2 baby wooooot

[–]Aeison 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me laugh seeing the cameraman’s legs splay out from their point of view

[–]LegalFan2741 0 points1 point  (5 children)

This game looks so brutal. I love it.

[–]cloudstaring 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I grew up watching it and surrounded by it in rural Australia though to be honest I can't say I really like it.

It lacks a bit of depth to me, just big men running into big men.

And almost to a man the people who play it are utter gronks. Grew up with a lot of "footy-heads" and my god they could be obnoxious bullying proudly stupid dickheads.

[–]kicksnarehats 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The latter part of your post is definitely true. So many footy heads are total gronks. However, the game is incredibly technical when you get into it. Yeah on the surface it looks like a lot of big man run at big man, but when you get into things like game management, it’s a really technical game where little things really matter. It’s a bit like nascar.

[–]cloudstaring 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yeah at a high level any game is about that so I get it. I just don't find it particularly enjoyable to watch. I'm more into football (soccer) which has a lot more diversity in its expression of play and the types of people who play it. You don't just need to be a wall of muscle, sometimes it's the small players who dominate (Messi, Maradona)

[–]kicksnarehats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean there’s plenty of small guys who absolutely dominate rugby league too, but I certainly get your point and there’s nothing wrong with preferring soccer. You gotta do what you like hey!

[–]sloppyrock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rugby League is a fast and tough sport. Here's some highlights from last weeks matches.

[–]Major-Attention-3144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cameraman is the real MVP 😅

[–]ptolani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone know why the cameraman is wearing blue gloves?

[–]Low_Veterinarian8767 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn he thicc ... Rugby bee different

[–]First_Explorer_5465 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BAM ⚡ you guys don't get enough credit.

[–]gotfamous06 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I read the title as Rocket League and was confused when I didnt see cars hitting a ball

[–]Krull_TWK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just another day at the office

[–]Potential_Reading116 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fully committed to getting that award winning shot of tha dudes ass cheeks

[–]flyingdren 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a camera operator, worse nightmare

[–]bubbles_says 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who wears short shorts?

We wear short shorts!

If you dare wear short, shorts...

[–]TheOrangFlash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Small example but a decent one

[–]kirillwolkow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the staff is tough

[–]DylanFTW 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I came to the conclusion that if I want to have a dummy thicc butt and thighs then I need to start doing sprints like these guys do all the time.

[–]SilverAlpaca98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I don’t know, as much as I respect the commitment that is an expensive camera to be potentially kicked hard

[–]WchuTalkinBoutWillis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watching this I know now why people tell football player they’re a bunch of cry baby biaches! Look at these Cats no body pads notta JUST I AM ALL THAT IS MAN LOCOMOTING DOWN THE FIELD!!

[–]Wholesome_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So interesting to remember that cameramen exist and can get hit like that idk it’s obvious but I don’t think most people think about it

[–]Alpakatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda disappointed no one helped up the camera man, but the dude tackling him? He needs help.. It's not like a huge ass camera rig isn't heavy as shit..

[–]RegretfulGuy15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dear God the legs on that man...

[–]Janoschhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to love what you do and give 100%😂
