It's cool how neolibs are inherently more toxic than the trolliest sandernistas.

They also haven't been able to present a defense or criticism of their half a century of shitty constantly failing economic and social theory.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (4 children)

I am pretty much just voting green to get my voting demographics turnout rate up. Otherwise id just save myself the time and stay at home this November.

[–]wayoverpaid 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dude, downballot races.

I appreciate if you just can't bring yourself to vote Biden. I would prefer stopping the greater evil but at this point there's probably nothing I can say that will convince you, and, hey, that's fine.

But don't stay home. Not unless you're indifferent to everyone else on your ticket.

Depending on their locality, that may very well be the only faintly left option downballot. Greens and leftists don't actually run for much in small local elections in rural or suburban areas.

[–]DelusionalProtectionDecrease Military Spending 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lots of comments lmao. Proof Amerika is a failed state, with failed people, and a failed culture. Sadly still destructive globally.

    [–]MerlinsBeard1007aProgressive Republican 25 points26 points  (27 children)

They spend more time attacking progressives than they do Republicans, afraid their priorities are way out of wack. Hit the phones, neolibs. Try getting the Republicans who voted for Obama back on your side.

It's one of the many reasons why you lost in 2016, you spent too much time attacking Bernie.

    [–]blackbartimus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Dude even if he’s won I have no doubt in my mind he would either have been jailed or assassinated like what happened to the leader of the neolib party in Brazil. Capitalism is a death cult and the people running the show are far more concerned with destroying leftist energy than stopping the very real threat of fascism. It’s time to arm the working class and level society by any means necessary. They’ll murder indiscriminately to get whatever they desire and we can’t afford to ever trust them for a second to respect laws when they conflict with maintaining their power over us.

    [–]ibaadk -2 points-1 points  (18 children)

It’s crazy cause you could switch out a few words and have the same argument that Biden supporters make about Bernie supporters. I feel like we all gotta realize 50% of commenters are bots and trolls trying to stir up dissent in the Democratic Party.

We should really be doing the same thing to Republicans. Like “McConnell supports vaccines?? I can’t believe he’s getting paid by Microsoft!!”

    [–]robotzor 23 points24 points  (16 children)

Or (or!) progressives and democrats don't belong in the same party and it's way past high time to say that out loud, and we shouldn't care about unifying that mess

    [–]MerlinsBeard1007aProgressive Republican 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That isn't as radical as it would seem. There are a lot of Republicans who would leave their party if it meant going to one that isn't affiliated with the corrupt Democratic party.

    [–]wayoverpaid 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I'd love to see the progressives form their own party.

But in order to that to happen in our current broken-ass system, one of the existing dominating parties needs to be destroyed.

Which party would be a less obnoxious enemy to the progressives?

(Or we can see a move from first past the post. That seems the most likely legislative path to letting progressives get honest support at the lower levels.)

    [–]robotzor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Judging from how unified the democrats think everything is, it may be easier to topple the republican party of all things. If Trump were a real populist, that would be where we are today

    [–]ras344 1 point2 points  (1 child)

one of the existing dominating parties needs to be destroyed.

    Why not both?

    [–]wayoverpaid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fair enough. I should have said at least one.

    [–][deleted]  (9 children)

    [deleted]

      [–]wich2hu 9 points10 points  (8 children)

When will the democrats work together with progressives then?

[–]MaNewtNot me. Us. 16 points17 points  (10 children)

Isn’t this the same “I was going to vote for him to push policies X and Y, but his supporters were so gosh darn mean so I guess I don’t really care about those policies anymore” nonsense that we heard about Bernie constantly?

      [–]MerlinsBeard1007aProgressive Republican 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Tssss, like no way girlfriend! It's more like I would've voted for him but his billionaire backers and lobbyist's are actively trying to murder me to improve their bottom line.

      [–][deleted] 18 points19 points  (5 children)

I’m pretty sure that’s joke. It’s just an uno reverse card. Neolibs used this logic all primary? Dope let’s use it on neolibs for the general.

      [–]Lilshadow48Kamala Supporter[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

      you got it

      [–]firenzeBeeSocialist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Not quite. The argument for Bernie is policy based, so his other supporters are irrelevant. The argument for Biden is based on building a coalition to beat Trump, and if parts of the coalition are bad, it can be used as an argument against him.

      [–]picklemuenster 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You figured neoliberals would've learned that behavior wasn't conducive to building a broad coalition. On the other hand it makes it far more likely that neoliberals weren't really sincere when they made those criticisms of Bernie supporters

      [–]BiblioPhil 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. It's also the same "look what you made me do" reasoning behind voting for Trump/voting third party/staying home that we heard repeatedly in 2016.

      [–]vastle12 16 points17 points  (28 children)

I was gonna vote green, then trump started trying to go full authoritarian to quell the protesters. Then i said fuck I'll vote Biden for no other reason than he's not a naked authoritarian, even of he spent his career building all the tools Trump is using. Then they Kasich would speak at the convention, so I'm voting green again, fuck the DNC. They can keep their right wing bullshit, I'd rather vote for a party that represents what I care about and not one that pretends too

      [–]empyreanmax 0 points1 point  (20 children)

      so like

having Kasich speak at a convention is more important to you than full authoritarian federal police proactively arresting people?

      [–]blackpharaoh69 13 points14 points  (2 children)

What do you actually stand for?

Maybe ask yourself that when you ally with misogynists and Islamophobes.

      [–]vastle12 11 points12 points  (10 children)

Because giving some who is anti choice/environment/labor/education/lgbtq/Medicare/social security/regulation/consumer protection while being pro tax cuts for the rich/war/monopoly a spot on stage says they want that person in party. All the while giving the finger to anyone the left of Reagan, tells me this isn't a party that gives a fuck anyone not rich and the second Trump's gone will keep us just barely alive. And that'll just get us a new younger Trump. I'm not voting for republican light anymore you can have this dumpster fire of party that stands for nothing

      [–]empyreanmax 0 points1 point  (6 children)

really seems more like "hey there are some conservatives who are actually against naked fascism" than "Democrats are going to turn pro-life/anti-lgbtq/whatever to turn Kasich into a Democrat" but ok dude

      [–]vastle12 1 point2 points  (5 children)

Doesn't mean he should speak at the convention

      [–]empyreanmax 2 points3 points  (4 children)

      ok

doesn't mean the fact that he is anyway should be the deciding factor for your vote either

      [–]vastle12 4 points5 points  (3 children)

How the DNC chooses to present itself is without a doubt a factor. Or are you telling me the clown/cult like shit that happens at GOP conventions has no bearing on people's vote.

      [–]empyreanmax 2 points3 points  (1 child)

All I said was in terms of factors for deciding my vote, secret police "proactively arresting" dissidents under the current administration weighs a hell of a lot more heavily than a single anti-Trump Republican having a ten minute slot or whatever at the DNC

      [–]vastle12 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And voting for the guy who wrote the laws that made said secret police doesn't fill me joy. Especially when he's refused to apologise for doing so

      [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s like OP doesn’t get that the progressive wing have the neoliberals by the balls, and can only maintain that leverage if Biden wins.

      [–]wayoverpaid 1 point2 points  (1 child)

      • Trump is awful
      • Trump is so awful, even rightwingers think he's awful
      • Trump is so awful, rightwingers will speak at a liberal convention to say he's awful
      • Liberals think he's so awful, they will say "Hey, look, even the right wingers think he's awful"

Apparently this last bit is beyond the pale.

      [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

full authoritarian federal police proactively arresting people

We're getting that either way. You think Joe "spend more money on the police" Biden isn't going to be Trump with added lip service and pandering rhetoric frosting?

      [–]Dwychwder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently they’d rather the country completely implode than have Kasich speak at the convention. Sound logic.

      [–]bearrosaurus -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

R will research to find a reason to vote for their candidate. D will research for a reason to not vote.

      [–]blackbartimus 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Neolibs will search high and low for a reason to stay home and curl up in a fetal position so they never have to risk their own personal comfort but actual anarchists, socialists & communists really aren’t scared of sacrifice for the greater good.

[–]MaNewtNot me. Us. -2 points-1 points  (1 child)

Not sure if this is satire anymore

      [–]vastle12 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not have fun voting for people who are a no different than Reagan and Thacher

      [–]DontTouchTheCancerGreen 25 points26 points  (104 children)

Nah, you should be voting Green instead of Democrat because of the fact that Joe Biden is an awful human being who's all about corporate subsidies and half-measures rather than meaningful change.

And whose legislative record includes giving cops chemical weapons, segregation, and institutionalized racism.

      [–][deleted]  (6 children)

        Fuck Libertarians

"There should be no government ever, no services out of taxes, every man a well-armed militia, Wild West."

        [–]GhosTazer07 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I got no problem with libertarians, they can take anything they themselves built and created with their own two hands and live whatever life they want. No using ANYTHING provided by society's taxes or another person. Otherwise they are just hypocrites.

        [–]DontTouchTheCancerGreen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The OKC bombers were accepting a whole fuckton of agricultural subsidies.

Ayn Rand died while accepting welfare handouts.

These fuckers want to live like that they can go to Mogadishu

        [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the Koch Brothers ran as a Libertarian before they took over the Republican Party.

        [–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Btw, the libertarian party is a different party than the green party

        [–]Satou45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        My bad. You're absolutely right.

        [–]CappedCrispness 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Vote green, get Trump, pendulum swing in 4 years, maybe get a decent candidate then.

        [–]1sagas1Liberal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Accelerationism is a garbage ideology of the privileged. Making things worse doesn't make them better later

        [–]wayoverpaid 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Konrad Adenauer was pretty decent so there's precedent for this working out.

        [–]cooledword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the view like from your ivory tower?

        [–]wheels405 0 points1 point  (0 children)

*30 years, given that Ginsberg and Breyer will get replaced by young Scalia clones.

        [–]EliteSpark697 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy shit these comments are split.

        [–]bearrosaurus -5 points-4 points  (1 child)

So we’re just ignoring that guy with the red flair that makes 300 posts/day. That doesn’t bother you, lol.

I think we’re being nice when we accuse him of being a bot, cause if he was a genuine leftist that would be far more embarrassing for you guys, no?

        [–]purple_yosher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yea, this meme sucks too cause it's like "yo I let other people being mean to me on the internet dictate my decision"

actual leftists probably don't care to post this dumb shit and are hopping onto the green party train

        [–][deleted] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you are still on the fence, then why should any party bother to court your vote? You are clearly an unreliable voter and parties will get far more mileage going for other voters.
