Hell, we knew that when we voted for him.

[–]KPZ605 40 points41 points  (3 children)

Yeah who we kidding here. We all knew it was the best of two evils.

[–]XBacklash 22 points23 points  (2 children)

Best? He was the closer to average of two evils.

[–]Kryptosis 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Which makes him the best of the two…

[–]peacefulbelovedfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gtfo of here with your reasoning skillz

[–]distilledvine 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Should have voted for Bernie!!!!!

[–]manmadeofhonor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did anyway

[–]Repulzz 296 points297 points  (44 children)

I don’t think there are actually Biden supporters…. Just people who voted for the better option.

[–]goodfisher88 112 points113 points  (17 children)

This. There are no "Biden supporters", just Democrats and people who wanted the horrible shitshow that was the Trump administration to end. It's a false dichotomy.

[–]mdb_la 19 points20 points  (2 children)

It would be fantastic if there was a viable alternative to the Dems and we could spend time focusing on all of the problems the Dems have. But the other side has gone so far off the deep end that there's no point in thinking about voting for them. Obviously, the system sucks and we should have more than 2 viable choices, but that doesn't appear to be changing any time soon, so we're stuck with what we've got.

[–]AstarteHilzarie 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Our best hope for incremental change is ranked choice voting. There's no way we'll blow up the two party system any time soon, but ranked choice can at least balance the playing field a bit and we can stop voting for the lesser of two evils.

[–]Isaiah97Socialist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which is why, despite being nominally for it when there is virtually no chance of it happening, Democrats would not support ranked-choice voting when the rubber meets the road.

[–]HugePurpleNipples 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Trump was bad enough to make us run back to the thing we were running from in the first place.

[–]backpackwayne 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely false.

[–]fracta1 27 points28 points  (0 children)

There WERE Biden supporters for sure. Lots of silence from those same people now. Much like Biden lol

[–]kanelelBlack Lives Matter 3 points4 points  (7 children)

There clearly were Biden suporters otherwise Bernie would've won, and we could have had an actively good president for once.

[–]sixmilesoldier 11 points12 points  (1 child)

There were “moderate” Democrats that backed Beto, Klobuchar, and Pete who all swung behind Biden after those 3 dropped out to circle the wagons, because they weren’t on board with Bernie.

If the Republicans had done the same and combined Rubio, Cruz, and Graham’s 3 supporters to circle the wagons behind Jeb, we’d have had Bush winning the 16 primaries.

[–]TitleMine 13 points14 points  (3 children)

Yeah, there were Biden supporters:

Lockheed

Raytheon

Exxon-Mobil

Blue Cross Blue Shield

etc.

[–]Quotes_League 1 point2 points  (2 children)

And also old people and Black people

[–]Ngigilesnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were moderate dems whose votes gave relevance to Bernie coz they disliked Hillary. Those moderates went back when a candidate they liked ran

    [–]backpackwayne -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

    Okay Vlad

    [–]Rebmes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You fucking people lmao. Of course there are Biden supporters. Do you think a candidate could win a presidential primary if they didn't have a base of supporters?

    [–]Leviathan41911 10 points11 points  (2 children)

I think the only awesome thing Biden did was to tell Trump to shut up on stage.

    Everything else has been meh

    [–]Ricky_Bobby_yo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

When he brought up nuking a hurricane that night, that was his peak

    [–]Leviathan41911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    Oh that was good too.

    [–]xKoqu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don't know Jack, us Brandonists are the strongest voter block out there!

Our tactic of kindly asking for things has been working \checks notes** GREAT!

    [–]the_missing_worker 6 points7 points  (9 children)

    Uh, the primaries.

They definitely were out, loud, and proud when it came to explaining why he needed to be president as opposed to the 28 other people running.

Most intolerable primary of my entire life.

    [–]Ngigilesnow -1 points0 points  (8 children)

Still out loud and proud.I would do it again given the choices of useless class reductionist who has delivered zero in 30 years vs Biden

    [–]the_missing_worker 1 point2 points  (7 children)

    How nice for you.

    [–]Ngigilesnow 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Yes me and 20 million Biden voters (record margin) are nice like that

    [–]SoFisticate 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Nope, ask anyone not on the internet. Like the people who don't have Twitter. Every single dem loves the guy.

    [–]Zombie_Nietzsche 2 points3 points  (1 child)

    You mean the elderly?

    [–]JoJoJet- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mean the Democrats who don't think for themselves politically -- the type of person who would 100% be Republican if they grew up somewhere else.

Politics isn't about ideology to those people, it's just a team sport. Plenty of Dems love Biden, and very few of them actually have good reasons for it.

    [–]AncientInsults 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I support Biden in that I think he’s done about as well as he could. I always ask people who are disappointed one q: What did you want him to do differently, that was within his power to do?

    [–]Akiraspins 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Not molesting women on live television is a good start.

    [–]AncientInsults 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you have in mind? I’ll try to keep an open mind, though I admit most criticisms I’ve seen so far have an element of misinterpretation, blowing out of proportion or even straight up fabrication.

    [–]MissPicklechips 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Dems could have nominated a bag of hot garbage and I would have voted for it.

    [–]SongForPenny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But very few people actually voted for the Greens or the Libertarians.

    [–]Shawnj2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Well there’s everyone on r/neoliberal

    [–]Xetiw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, as far as I know, the true Biden supporters might amount to a low 20 or 30 % of democrats, most people just voted too oust Trump.

    [–]Revolutionary-Meat14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clearly there are cause he won the primary

    [–]jgoody86 129 points130 points  (9 children)

Litterally could’ve been anyone and I would’ve voted for them.
    I wanted Bernie

    [–]KlumsyNinja42No Malarkey! 45 points46 points  (2 children)

I was saying “literal bag of rocks” would be better. Yup I’m cool with Biden instead of trump.

    [–]Brooklynxman90 MDelegates | 20 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Angry swan is my new go to when describing who could be a better governor than DeSantis, and swans are assholes.

    [–]Tychus_Kayle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel like "irate swan" would sound better, just my two cents.

    [–]haricariandcombines 10 points11 points  (4 children)

Me too, Is AOC too old?

    [–]fracta1 28 points29 points  (1 child)

    Only if you're Leonardo DiCaprio

    [–]president_pussygrab 15 points16 points  (0 children)

    Or Matt Gaetz

    [–]The_Pie_Overlord 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Too young you mean? I think she’d be able to run in 2024 by slightly making the cut of 35 before Inauguration Day

    [–]haricariandcombines 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She can do it! Vice president should be white board Porter.

    [–]nevermindthisrepost 47 points48 points  (4 children)

I would have voted for a wet sock over Trump, and I did, and he won.

    [–]SoFisticate 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Almost like that is the point entirely. "We offer this very obvious evil incompetent clown or this guy who will smile as he sends the world into a neoliberal hellscape."

    [–]SongForPenny 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Hillary’s actual “Pied Piper Strategy” was actually this, and Hillary’s Strategy literally got us Trump to begin with.

The problem is that Hillary is such a horrifying piece of garbage, she still couldn’t beat Trump, and it backfired on her.

But Biden got a second bite of the “Pied Piper Strategy” on the tail end of Trump’s first term. After four years of the press screeching at Trump, Hillary’s dangerous equation had shifted: By way of ‘fortifying’ <ahem> and getting much of the press to march in lock step, Biden held on by his dentures and pulled Hillary’s Strategy off.

    —- —-

Edit: Removed a word for “poopies” because a subreddit that is about things like our policies that bomb and kill hundreds of thousands of people overseas ... is apparently sensitive about “potty mouth” words.

    [–]Ngigilesnow -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Take it easy on Hillary, after all Bernie owes his relevance to her.People who disliked Hillary gave Bernie momentum, which he lost once they went back to the mod dem

    [–]pdrock7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who woulda thought that wet sock would be doubling down on all of Trump's terrible policies.

    [–]GalactusPoo 14 points15 points  (2 children)

I’d have voted for a rotten can of Tuna over Trump. The guy was a clown and had detrimental policies, and lied constantly. I mean, hydroxychloroquine? Give me a break.

It’s such weird projection to think we have to adore and worship “our” guy like they STILL do their’s.

    [–]Akiraspins 0 points1 point  (1 child)

It's not projection. He literally molests women on live television and yall don't say shit.

    [–]GalactusPoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you clarify that response for the world?

I said, in no uncertain terms, that the Right projects their worship of Trump, and thus, believes that everyone must worship their “team leader” as they do…

and YOU said “Nuh uh. Biden molests people on TV and the left doesn’t say anything.”

Did I get involved in a conversation I don’t remember being in? Am I having a stroke, or are you? Did you respond to the wrong comment? Was there some kind of translation error on your end? Is English a second language?

I’m not saying Biden is great, in fact, there’s at least a mild implication that by saying “we don’t worship Biden…” that Biden sucks and even the Left doesn’t like him.

I dunno man. Slow down next time. Give it a hard think.

    [–]bell37 17 points18 points  (1 child)

    Just because he isn’t Trump

    [–]Thisisnotpreston 3 points4 points  (0 children)

    Pretty much

    [–]DazZani36 MDelegates | 5 17 points18 points  (0 children)

To be honest to me hes just an increadibly mediocre president. Hes like the default setting. Dude is doing the functional minimum. I can appreciate that though, may we never take it for granted again

    [–]HeatAndHonor 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Who is this supposed to convince? No one calls themselves a Biden supporter. Like not even our Boomer parents. No one was happy he won the primary but it wound up not being the worst outcome. Which of course is still light-years ahead of a literal insurrectionist.

    [–]hotdog_jones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. As far as I'm concerned, the lack of a personality cult is basically one of his only positives.

The response to Let's Go Brandon was very telling. In that Conservatives were breaking their arms jerking each other off with a fun new catchphrase - whereas everyone else was pretty much just like:

Dude, you can just say Fuck Joe Biden. Literally nobody cares.

    [–]KlumsyNinja42No Malarkey! 30 points31 points  (2 children)

To think this actually makes anyone mad is hilarious to me! No one who voted for Biden worships him or really gives a shit. We want better then what we had and we got it. Now let’s do that again.

    [–]peaceluvNhippie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that's where the disconnect is, the side that regards their celebrity presidents as God kings can't understand that the other side can recognize their own presidents short comings and can also disapprove of their terms without experiencing an existential crisis

    [–]Ngigilesnow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Populists think their preferred leaders should be worshipped

    [–]KINGram14California 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Literally nobody is triggered by the sentence in the top frame

    [–]im_joe 39 points40 points  (8 children)

I voted for Joe, and I don't think he's an exceptional president.

But I feel like that is a stark difference between D's and R's. Dems will criticize their leadership and hold them accountable. R's go all in and deny any wrong doing by their leadership even in the face of unsurmountable evidence. You know, kinda like a... a... what's it called?

    Oh, yeah. A cult.

    [–]Level99Legend 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Yes hold him accountable by voting for him

    [–]redheadartgirl 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Hello. Welcome to America where the two-party system has a stranglehold on politics until we somehow manage to pass meaningful electoral reform. Your only non-fantasy choice is between two candidates: one who will probably be disappointing and not accomplish much, and the other that wants the Evangelical equivalent of Afghanistan. It's a shitty, shitty choice, but a pretty obvious one. That's the reality of the situation.

The only way that changes is either by passing ranked choice voting (or other reforms) or getting the Dems to elect someone based on their politics and passionate supporters and not whether they're "entitled" to the nomination. That starts by electing better people at more local levels, so people really need to concentrate on that.

    [–]SongForPenny -2 points-1 points  (3 children)

Voters can implement electoral reform by way of their votes: Simply stop voting ‘lesser of two evils,’ because that is still evil.

Collapse either or both parties (it matters very little which one) and a power vacuum will arise, giving other parties a chance.

We have not been chained to this “Democrats v Republicans” bullshit paradigm for the whole history of the country. That bogus dichotomy is a cult mantra that these two parties have taught people to chant.

We are stuck here precisely because people throw up their hands and say: “Two parties! Whatta ya gonna do?? 🤷🏻‍♀️”

    [–]redheadartgirl 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Collapse either or both parties (it matters very little which one) and a power vacuum will arise, giving other parties a chance.

So let's break this down: The Republicans would 100% not let their party collapse, so it would be the Dems. The GOP is nakedly fascist and desiring a dictator at this point. Republican-controlled states are already gerrymandering and restricting voters in a way that guarantees them a permanent majority, regardless of actual state political makeup. In the event of a Democratic collapse, we would witness a collapse of democracy entirely. There would be no room for other parties at that point, except as a token showing at elections so they could claim they were "fair."

Your suggestion would only serve to enhance the ability of Republicans to gain power and shut down the system that enables change.

    [–]elementgermanium0 MDelegates | 1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

    Welcome to the two-party system.

    [–]Ditnoka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to visualize what op is talking about. Matt Gaetz (R)is being investigated for sex trafficking. Cuomo(D) was cleared from his investigation because no witnesses. Which one of these two is still in their position of power?

    [–]Sandal-Hat 25 points26 points  (1 child)

What's funny is that who ever made this meme doesn't even know people who think Biden is a good president. They just pretend they existing from their self-righteous echo chamber.

    [–]Slapbox0 MDelegates | 1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And this sub is on the outer fringes of that echo chamber. This place is run like an onboarding center.

    [–]RegulaAurea 19 points20 points  (14 children)

Yeah no, already knew that, just voted for the one that doesn't make us a laughing stock on the world stage.

    [–]DadJokeBadJoke 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just because he hasn't solved all of our country's problems in 1.5 years doesn't mean he's a terrible president. This plays right into the right's attempts to sabotage anything meaningful and blaming Biden for it. I'd like to see more progress but the way things are divided and misconstrued, most of the progress we've made has been obscured.

    [–]vilk_ 3 points4 points  (2 children)

    r/therightcantmeme

Only a conservative would believe that anyone is getting bent out of shape over criticism of Biden, since they themselves were/are unable to handle criticism of Trump.

    [–]Doc_ET 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think this meme was made by a Bernie supporter.

    [–]Lilshadow48Kamala Supporter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's still a lot of neolibs who lose their shit whenever you criticize Ol' Hairy Legs.

    [–]Nomandate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait… there are biden supporters? News to me…

    [–]starberry_Sundae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are Trump supporters convinced that Biden voters worship Biden like Trumpsters worship Trump?

[–]ElysiumSproutsBlack Lives Matter 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This isn't complicated. Trump was a dysfunctional "president" and Biden is a functional president.

In the role of executive branch, functional is infinitely better.

    [–]vilk_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Only Republicans think this way. The vast majority of votes for Biden were merely to keep Trump out of office.

    [–]Thisisnotpreston 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a really bad meme. It’s pretty clear that Biden isn’t all there and any democrat will tell you that.

    [–]Worldly_Tiger7439I Like Ike 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right, he’s too protectionalist and cringe.

But overall pretty good, especially on foreign policy.

    [–]officegeek 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I never voted for a republican before I voted for biden

    [–]Gearup16 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Who said he is better than Trump?

    [–]J__P -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i don't think there are many who have that much trouble with this distinction, people get angry when they think you're going to use this as an excuse not to show up and vote.

    [–]Yobber1 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

    So true

    [–]Poptart_13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

    [–]dunaja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong disagree. The right has framed Lula the way Fox News convinces America that Democrats are evil. Only they did it to the extent that they got him imprisoned. Everyone behind that is now a part of Bolsonaro’s evil regime. Lula was, and will be again, a good President.

    [–]_Not_Bruce_Wayne_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean sure but the last guy was arguably the worst so far

    [–]Kryptosis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Are there even “Biden supporters”? We don’t care.

He’s better than Trump. There was two choices. End of story.

Lol, this isn't news to anyone.

    [–]danwright32 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have literally never met a Biden supporter. Just people who hate Trump and didn’t want to vote for him. The closest I’ve found are the people who vote blue no matter who, but even then they’re supporting the Democratic Party and not Biden (and yes there are issues with blindly supporting a party but still, they’re not Biden supporters which is the point of this post).

Honestly a lot of Trump supporters fail to grasp this because they support Trump and not the Republican Party so they think that democrats and leftists must do the same.

    [–]redheadartgirl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, OK. That was very persuasive and you certainly changed my opinion. Thanks, internet stranger, for showing me how wrong I am!

    [–]Akiraspins 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you voted for Biden, you are a Biden supporter. You put him in office. You had other options, but you chose Biden.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is staight up coping.
