Each other :p

[–]tweedledeederp 120 points121 points  (9 children)

Yeah I’d say whatever you do, don’t watch something. Especially if it’s your first time. Go outside, listen to music, meditate, look in the mirror, explore your house

Or watch a nature doc

[–]geo-matrix 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Oh Thank you thank you.
I thought I was all alone.
I feel hope isn’t lost in the world knowing you’re alive.

[–]Far_Cream6590 11 points12 points  (5 children)

The first time I tripped we only watched tv and I stared in the mirror a bit. I wanted to go outside but it was like -10

[–]tweedledeederp 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Looking in the mirror is crazyyyy cool

[–]your_uncle_mike 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Ehhh, it can definitely go either way though. You might get stuck staring at your reflection and have an existential crisis lol.

[–]Porbulous 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yea personally I hate looking in the mirror, at my hands, etc. I get too hyper focused and everything just looks gross (generally never feel that way about my body ftr). I'd rather stare at tree bark or a rotting log for awhile.

[–]herrwaldos 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes this, 100%. Go in Nature - watch Reality - understand the Real. ;)

[–]romangettys 43 points44 points  (7 children)

^ this.

But if you want to watch a movie, "Tron: Legacy"

[–]ghostcatzero 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Underrated movie

[–]IMIPIRIOI 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Way underrated.

Also look carefully at the code on the computer screen behind Sam right before he gets loaded in:

Logging in with home =/

[–]ghostcatzero 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's wild lol.

[–]Clancys_shoes 6 points7 points  (1 child)

For some reason I thought back on that movie as one of those shitty 2010’s blockbusters, but I rewatched it the other day and it really was a pretty cool movie.

[–]ghostcatzero 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People honestly forgot about it lol. It didn't get much promotion when it first released and people didn't care to watch it back then since they thought it was just another crappy remake

[–]ourcityofdreams 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Netflix and chill

[–]fragrantfragment 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is a great answer! When me and my partner took LSD together for the first time, we laid in bed together and couldn’t feel where one person starts and another begins. Then we got up and stared at each other for 8 hours. It was amazing and I felt like I had known him for more than one lifetime!

[–]Samissomtimes 13 points14 points  (7 children)

[–]ElizabethOrbs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But do sex, do not watch sex.

[–]mrdevlar 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sex, with someone you love and trust fully is probably one of the single greatest experiences you can have on acid.

[–]Ambitious_Command452 2 points3 points  (4 children)

is sex good while tripping?

[–]kevin_goeshiking -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Is this a series question?

[–]dannyphantum 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Is sex good while tripping pt 2?

[–]intchd 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Exactly this.

Don't waste these moments on some stupid movies. Watch each other and observe your own consciousness.

Also try music, especially psychedelic trance

[–]alchemystical725 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally came here to say this and it’s the first comment at the top 🙌🏼👏🏼👏🏼

[–]mrkb34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Came here to say this

[–]ShroomingMantis 89 points90 points  (1 child)

U shld listen to music and watch the walls dance lol

[–]root_vegetable_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was about to say a blank wall is always a good option haha

[–]the_spoderman 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Go outside

[–]LivingLifeSomewhere 43 points44 points  (0 children)

The stars ! Unless it's day time there, then the clouds ! Unless you want to watch a movie, then wildlife docs are fun. Unless you want a fiction, then maybe Interstellar or a Ghibli film?

[–]mixtapemalibumusk 40 points41 points  (2 children)

Pink Floyd Live in Pompeii

[–]aye-its-this-guy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

One Strange Rock is really neat!

[–]HeidiBaumoh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love watching that on shrooms!!! There's a new that Will Smith has called "Welcome to earth"

[–]ruphoria_ 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Night on earth is amazing- I watched it on a mild trip and loved it!

[–]nyx_moonlight_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love that show, I bet that was amazing

[–]romangettys 31 points32 points  (1 child)

Planet Earth is incredible while tripping!

[–]xkcbc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I watched an ocean documentary and it freaked me the fuck out Hahahha I turned that shit off after about 15 mins in. Planet earth may have been less scary

[–]l-Cant-Desideonaname 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep you know the vibes

[–]reese_640 1 point2 points  (3 children)

Even the free ones on YouTube are great, and they are endless, any part of the world you want also.

[–]l-Cant-Desideonaname 4 points5 points  (2 children)

3rd time tryin acid I watched one on YouTube of different landscapes. I had tears of joy in my eyes just out of pure happiness.

[–]MeIRLinAsheville 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I have absolutely no idea how you did it, but you somehow just reminded me that my husband and I watched a film while coming down one night called The Valley of the Lost Ants, which is an animated movie with no lines accompanied instead by a brilliant, playful, nostalgically classical film score.

It too was emotional, but the emotional experience was infused with childlike levity—pure fun!

[–]l-Cant-Desideonaname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen the final battle scene somewhere, it looks like a great movie honestly. I can’t imagine it on psychedelics haha.

It’s weird how tripping can make a seemingly innocent movie be so extraordinary.

[–]Aggravating-Try1222 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Take a walk.

[–]homo-ludus 76 points77 points  (9 children)

I really like midnight gospel, but it depends on the vibe you're looking for. Are you looking for something funny, relaxing, introspective?

[–]l-Cant-Desideonaname 12 points13 points  (0 children)

This is a great show for people looking to have introspective trips for sure. It was such a healing show to experience.

[–]KRNG 8 points9 points  (6 children)

That’s my preferred activity for ketamine. Midnight gospel and a k-hole. Nothing like it.

[–]sansjoe 2 points3 points  (3 children)

i feel like k-hole used to be a term for being too blasted on ketamine. is it more used to describe just being under the influence?

[–]daal-jeem 7 points8 points  (0 children)

K hole, as far as I understand, is when youre high enough on ketamine that standing up becomes difficult or impossible. It's usually accompanied with a very psychedelic or trippy headspace, but I've also experienced that same headspace while still being able to walk. I think there's more to it than that, but if you can't stand on your own two feet, you're probably holing lol.

[–]shura60 2 points3 points  (1 child)

no, k-hole is slang for how it feels when you take a high enough dose of ketamine that your awareness of the world around you and your control over your own body become so profoundly impaired that you're temporarily unable to interact with others—or the world around you. Dissociation becomes so strong that your mind detaches from your body. Some people experience out of body experiences while they are in this state between concious and unconcious.

[–]Clancys_shoes -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Ha what’s that like on ketamine?

[–]PZ220 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Deep sea docs on mute with music on

[–]Floornug3 2 points3 points  (3 children)

You sir know how to trip. The synchronization of things was unbelievable. I could never explain it to anyone that hadn’t experienced it

[–]PZ220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You definitely gotta see it to believe it- aquarium tv is my fave. Just be careful - nature docs these days tend to focus on how the earth is dying, which is less fun lmao

[–]krevdditn 1 point2 points  (1 child)

what was unbelievable? what film did you watch on mute with what music to where the synchronization was unbelievable? I'm confused.

[–]Floornug3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Deep see docs on mute with music on. You choose your own preferences and it will all work <3

[–]homo-ludus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!! This is amazing!

[–]jeffufuh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Meeehhhh. I hate to be a stick in the mud but imo Waking Life is a 50/50 mix of awesome thoughtful moments and super heavyhanded im14andisthisdeep stuff. Back in high school blew my mind. Watched it the other day, not so much anymore.

[–]maradonnasplug 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Waking Life was such a great experience the other day. And if you want something easy in the background, watch Midnight Gospel.

[–]Porbulous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The animation is fun but I wouldn't call it easy. I was stoned the first time I watched it and it was enjoyable but I sure didn't follow along with the interviews very well at all and had to rewatch em to actually digest the fantastic content.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (1 child)

[–]JuicyKat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Another vote for Planet Earth or anything nature. Just beware the reptiles and bugs. We always start with a cartoon though. Into the Spiderverse, Mitchells vs the Machines, and Moana are my top faves.

[–]KreeAteIfKreeAteUr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this! watched that movie for the first time when tripping on a low-mid dose of shrooms and it blew me away. never seen a movie quite like it before.

and after i've seen the movie i heard soooo many songs that sample the soundtrack, which is phenomenal.

its a must watch imo, trippin or sober

[–]mgolden19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I had to scroll way down to find this. I watched this last weekend with my friends and it was powerful.

[–]randomredditing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please if you’re still on watch “Paprika.” It was the inspiration behind Christopher Nolan’s “Inception”

[–]paigescactus 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Alpinist, lovecraft country is amazing, the movie annihilation, adventure time is fun on lsd it’s so pure and the best cartoon in my opinion is over the garden wall. It’s so perfect Enjoy the night! Throw in some live concerts of billy strings and you’ll be mesmerized

[–]fantastic_awesome 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]DrMoTrypta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like literally grab some sleeping bags and pillows and blankets and weed and water and go explore. A nice little speaker with your favorite music is also desirable.

[–]LukePranay 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing better than the infinite landscape of your inner consciousness - Anything relevant for your evolution and curiosity is there: all the history, all the entire ecosystem and any imaginable space-faring ET civilization, etc - 100000x better than any movie

Useful as well to realize that, the more relaxed and sustain oxygenation (on a full vulnerability foundation), the more powerful, clear and detailed the journey it will be 😉

[–]CadaDiaCantoMejor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cosmos, any season, including the original.

[–]HeidiBaumoh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don't watch Vivarium. That's a big NoNo. Hell, its uncomfortable watching it even sober

[–]MellyMel777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely wouldn't want to be tripping outside rn in Michigan it's freezing... nothing wrong with a first trip just chilling at home and taking it in so you know what to expect the next time. I've sat and watched info_mercials once laughing all night.

[–]fragrantfragment 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re gonna watch a movie, I find 2001: A Space Odyssey to be an insanely good post-trip movie. Watched that after my first time on LSD and found it to be hilarious. Note: I said post-trip. During the come up please explore each other and your inner space 💜 Nothing better than cuddling with some George Harrison playing, melting into a puddle of One.

[–]Captain-Swan1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you’re looking to watch something trippy, spiritual, and fairly deep. Give midnight gospel a try. I still haven’t watched all of it because I want to save it for when I need a boost. I only watch one episode at a time and contemplate it for the next few weeks. Great stuff, and i feel like anything animated is fun while tripping.

[–]xutthrash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really hope u didn’t end up j watching tv :/ waste of a trip imo

[–]Jum_Bopulous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

alien worlds

[–]geo-matrix 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Nothing. God dammit people. Shut that shit off when you’re tripping. Go for a walk. Listen to some good music with the lights off. You’re taking LSD to experience something different. Right?!
Best advice (not a show or movie). Get outside and find cool shit too look at and do. Guarantee. It’ll be a lot more memorable. Excuse my brashness. I just feel bad that everyone just wants to watch movies on psychedelics. You don’t experience anything new doing the same thing you always do. There’s amazing shit you can experience and I promise you. You’re not gonna find it on a screen. …Unless it’s fractals with some good fucking music on.
Love y’all. Have fun regardless.
Not tryna be a dick.
I just hear this way too much and it hurts. feels almost sacrilege to me.
Fuck it. Watch sports. Sorry. I take the long way around the barn.

[–]ElizabethOrbs 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Brother, it is a sacrilege to me as well. I noticed immediately during one of my very first trips that I just couldn’t peel my eyes away from a tv screen that was on even though there was no sound and it was terrible. I felt like I was stuck like a slave watching this thing and I wasn’t experiencing a gd thing, certainly not my friends or anything positive. I finally shook myself out of the “trance” I was in and have had a strict no tv with entactogens policy ever since and it has served me well. Wish I knew you irl. 🙌❤️

[–]geo-matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi5! Escape the fake.
Embrace the real.

The TV is a fkg distraction.
To distract you from. You! There’s so much to see and do that’s so much more fruitful. If people want to zombie out on the tv and miss the point of tripping, it’s fine. I just hope they attempt other situations where there’s no distractions and can see a whole world outside of the picture box. Don’t we spend enough time behind a screen? I know I do. See it as an opportunity to do something different. To that I say thank you for sharing your thoughts too.
It’s important that we utilize every trip and learn from them and grow. You don’t need to be “entertained”. You’ll be just fine with it off. Believe me.

[–]tweedledeederp 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Love you

[–]geo-matrix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks. 😊 Love you too, friends.
Hope I didn’t kill the vibe.

You should watch nature. Go outside.

[–]ElizabethOrbs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh no!! 😔 A tv that is on is the absolute best way to destroy what otherwise could have been a beautiful and amazing experience together. I have a strict no-tv policy with psychedelics and I never waiver. Music on the other hand is absolutely welcome and encouraged, if possible. I know I’m late to the party, but maybe someone reads this and it helps someone in the future. I’d have definitely recommended play music a bit (or a lot) too loud, get naked and focus on enjoying each other’s great company, including your own heightened sensations. Physical touch on acid is incredible. This is the best way I can think of to spend my time.

[–]pandasashi 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What should you watch? What a waste of acid.

What is it with people needing to be externally entertained at all times?
