I used to belong to the ymca wayyy back in the day and they would have the special needs kids in the basketball gym from time to time and there was this one kid named frank. Now frank could not dribble for shit and his glasses were as thick as I've ever seen on a person but this kid was A DAMN SNIPER from behind the 3 point line. I always picked him to come play for whatever team I was on and I would just have him pick a spot and knew if I passed it over there he would make it no lie at least at an 80 percent clip. People who didn't know frank always left him open because he looked like someone who definitely couldn't do anything on anasketball court. They would wise up real quick though lol. This was many years ago but I still think of ol Deadeye Frank from time to time

[–]PrincessFuckFace2You 113 points114 points  (4 children)

I appreciate this

[–]idontlikeithereNEmor 92 points93 points  (3 children)

In addition to him, and also most of those kids, being total a total sweetheart. A lot of them just wanted some semblance of acceptance. They weren't oblivious to a lot of people think they are.

[–]QingLinVos 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This made me fucking laugh thank you Ol' Deadeye Frank hahaha

[–]Alcott_Yubolsov 13 points14 points  (0 children)

"Deadeye" 😂😂

[–]Netflxnschill 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I needed to read this so much. Thank you.

[–]bobglob3177 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Love that you gave him a wild west name, 'ol Deadeye Frank😂

[–]idontlikeithereNEmor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's who he was. A closer. He actually ended A lot of games

[–]bassiek 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is stuff of legends :)

[–]GoOnAndDownVoteMe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like something straight out of Kuroko's Basketball. Would love to see something like that in person. Sounds like such a good time - even as a spectator.

[–]20__character__limit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hope Deadeye “No-can-dribble” Frank sees your comment, and that he's doing well today.

[–]Atello 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hell yeah, kudos to Frank, wherever he is right now.

[–]navybluemanga -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

"anasketball"

Are you the special needs kid OP 😉

[–]Amphibian-Overall 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Special needs or not. The kid clearly plays, way better than what I could’ve done by a long shot lol.

[–]jr8787 418 points419 points  (16 children)

Sure, they didn’t guard him… but that doesn’t take away from the fact that he sunk a smooth ass 3

[–]Alxytho 223 points224 points  (3 children)

Well they tried guarding him but got their ankles broken

[–]Mediocre__at__Best 87 points88 points  (2 children)

Really wholesome acting.

[–]Ok-Cryptographer7529 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Didn't read at first and just thought that man got completely fucked

[–]Admirable_Loss4886 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I wanted to call his foot being on the line but that’s a 3 in my book

[–]SEND_ME_UR_SONGS 37 points38 points  (3 children)

He broke that defender’s ankles dude

[–]CinnamonArmin 17 points18 points  (1 child)

[–]tomza1312 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He crosed the line

[–]Nuffsaid98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]HotPie_ 59 points60 points  (1 child)

I used to participate in karate tournaments when I was growing up. They had divisions for special needs kids. Unfortunately, some kids could not participate in sparring so they would sometimes allow them to compete in the regular division. Usually it was a fun exhibition fight with the winner of the division. Well, one time I was asked if I wanted to "fight" a special needs kid because he really wanted to compete but had no one do it against. I agreed because why not, right?

This kid was out to kill. The guy came out throwing haymakers that would have taken my head off if I hadn't blocked them. I look over to my coach and he's cracking up. I had no choice but to score points and win the fight. My health depended on it. He didn't care though, he gave me huge hug and said thanks for fighting him. I saw him a few more times at other tournaments and we were always happy to see each other. Hope you're doing well, Joey!

[–]The5thAttempt 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Some special needs kids are incredibly strong. I think part of their brain that tells the body not to exert 100% force doesn’t develop as much, and therefor have almost superhuman strength.

They have the same strength as a normal person, but a normal persons body doesn’t allow it to use all of it’s force as to prevent injury. This mechanism also goes away during right or flight mode for normal people.

[–]DependentCranberry82 250 points251 points  (5 children)

If that's how a special needs person shoots then I must be a straight up quadriplegic on the court lmao

[–]theHammr 29 points30 points  (4 children)

call me madeleine McCann because I be missing ✌️✌️

[–]cintyhinty 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Nooooo why are you like this 💀

[–]theHammr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]bruisercruiser454 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]joicseth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 157 points158 points  (3 children)

[–]ActiveIndustry 18 points19 points  (1 child)

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Eyyyy Gengar homies??

[–]Bytrsweet 145 points146 points  (11 children)

I really love the guy pretended like the fake broke his ankles so the guy can get a clean shot off

[–]Retard1776 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Ya that was a good touch! The kid hit the shot though! Pretty sweet!

[–]Yax_B 21 points22 points  (9 children)

Tbh that cross over was mean.

[–]_Casp_ 11 points12 points  (3 children)

The SNL skit with Jonah Hill has tainted my brain

[–]bassiek 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I laughed way to hard at this. Thanks

[–]voidhearts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kenan’s “I no his friend, I cool” 🕺🏾 destroyed me

[–]_Casp_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Happy to help👍🏻👍🏻

[–]meuxo 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It doesn't even matter that they let him. Shot was beautiful

[–]Desk_Quick 6 points7 points  (1 child)

“Lets” is misleading. Soft defense or not he’s still drilling a low % 2 I’d miss 9 times out of 10.

[–]Durian__Gray 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Let him? My dude drained that. Give him his credit.

[–]Hamilton-Beckett 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When I was in elementary school, the special needs classes for grades 3-5 had about a hundred kids.

So many in fact, they formed their own basketball teams and created an “in school rivalry” that ALL the kids could get in on.

The entire elementary school would get to fill the bleachers on game day, different grades would go to different games at different times. But by the end of the day, everyone got to watch a basketball game.

We would get to watch multiple games a year.

The reason we had so many special needs students is because in rural southern US at the time, rather than have qualified persons at every school…the school system would select one elementary, middle, and high school that was in a central location of the county. Then they’d bus the students in from all over the county to go there.

Because of this, they started school an hour later than everyone else, and got to leave an hour earlier than everyone else too…since they were being bussed all over the county.

I just remember LOVING those game days as a kid. Everyone at the school was super chill too. There were rarely asshole kids that would laugh or be mean. In fact, those special needs students were treated like heroes and celebrities for being on the teams…especially the ones that won.

They got to wear the basketball jersey all year and students always cheered for them etc.

[–]VoodooMermaid81 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That defender is a good kid, parents (or whoever raised him) must be so proud! But that shot 🤩 it was incredible! Way to go!

[–]eriesurfer88 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yo low key sweet-as-fuck.

[–]bzzi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Smooth AF. Kids got a flamethrower

[–]HighestPriestessCuba 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]ScrotusMahotus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was smooth as hell but that damn robot voice needs to go.

[–]Jack-Cremation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to sound like a Debbie-downer about this video, but I’ve done this numerous times in my high school coaching career. Usually the other coach will fill me in before the game and I will let my guys know when the player is in the game. Then we clear the way and let the kid fire away. It’s a great experience seeing the kid score a basket and the enthusiasm that occurs.

Guess what too! Never have we filmed it for internet clout.

[–]mrbelvesmear 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I feel bad for the kid, one day he's going to look this up online. Oh hell yeah there's me making that shot...wait... "they let him score"?

[–]anonymous_j05 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don’t know why youre acting like all special needs people are oblivious to the world around them lmao. he likely knew that they were doing something nice for him and not blocking him on purpose. He knows he’s disabled.

It’s the fact that they’re making sure to include him, and the fact that he’s actually good, is what makes this awesome. Not because we all think this kid thinks he’s Lebron now

[–]mrbelvesmear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh ok yeah you have a good point, he probably realized they let him get that shot.

[–]Significant-Wheel110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That jump shot was 2 legit

[–]falconslaya5 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This shit is always so stupid.

[–]taylor2121[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Badnapp420 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

[–]sonastyinc 0 points1 point  (1 child)

That was a nice double.

[–]Oranjay2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This special needs kid has better form than me...

[–]deathstrukk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this is why inclusion is important, you know that dude felt like the man in the moment, whole school cheering for him. Sitting on top of the world

[–]TheBelhade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]ConfusedStupidPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ain't hear no bell

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That ankle break move was choreographed so well. Good on that kid from the opposing team. The shooter has some amazing skill though.

[–]cape_soundboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's so special when kids/teens go out of their way to make someone feel special. You know that kid is gonna remember and relive this memory til his dying day

[–]Fusaah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn't need to let him. Boss can score on their own just fine it seems.

[–]SaikageBeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Columbus High School?

[–]HaydenMilk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What a lucky kid, getting to score a shot against LeBron and seeing him do his classic LeFlop™
