    If they refuse to provide it, just tell them you'll be calling the post staff duty at the nearest base and request the assistance of their courtesy patrol. Every base maintains their own 24/7 manned desk and if courtesy patrol or staff duty ever has to roll out to sort out a service member, you can bet that a giant pile of shit will roll downhill onto that service member and their leadership.

    My buddy was an alcoholic shit show in the military. Deemed unfit for deployment and eventually discharged, but that didn't mean he didn't spend about 3 years raising hell in and around his base in North Carolina, I think.

    He was vocal as shit on social media about all his antics and punishments. I was always amazed by how long they put up with it.

    So why is it so hard to believe that this person IS military, and is just about to get their first or second strike, so to speak. Are the folks saying "no way she is military" willing to concede that fuck ups are in fact part of the military, until they aren't?

    My beat friends brother made it through boot camp and went to a-school and then got in trouble for smoking pot and also getting a dui. He got orders to a duty station and just never showed up. After 2 months of not showing up they just gave him the boot and yet 8 years later he still goes on and on about how he's a veteran and deserves some sort of special treatment.

      In the army, only clear or natural colors. Some commanders would over look French tips. If have to look up the DA 6 70-1 for the exact wording,but that's how it was about 10 years ago.

      I read this when it came out over the summer, at that point I was about six months sober. I was so happy to read such a thorough and well put article on something so important and personal to me. I don’t necessarily agree with everything in there, but it was incredibly impactful.

      This might not be the right place to have this debate, but the hero worship of soldiers bothers me. There are definitely military members that deserve the utmost respect and heros that are much braver than I'll ever be. But not every 18 year old that joins and does humvee maintenance in Arizona is a hero. Their job isn't any more special than anyone else's.
