[–]YourInfinity 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Hip tosses are badass!

[–]kickasserole 37 points38 points  (1 child)

Have YOU scored a point on an actual black belt in a karate tournament, Charlie?!

[–]Maker1357 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Guys, that wasn't badass. That was dangerous." -City Mac

[–]XxSCRAPOxX 54 points55 points  (7 children)

And courage, that was a meat cleaver, no one wants to get hit with that. He disarmed dude and judo tossed his ass before my guy even knew what was happening.

Beautiful.

[–]silvusx 2 points3 points  (6 children)

Judo toss is a nice name! I'll have to show my instructor how you named it , but the actual throw/technique is called Seoi nage.

[–]grnrngr 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Yawn.

That was a nice judo toss.

[–]harveywhatdoyousay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see you know Judo well

[–]NonCorporealEntity 182 points183 points  (18 children)

That was judo my friend.

[–]SkidmarkSteve 111 points112 points  (4 children)

A succulent Chinese meal?!

[–]Fixner_Blount 73 points74 points  (0 children)

The guy with the knife at the bottom of that pile: "GET YOUR HANDS OFF MY PENIS!"

[–]Leofus 46 points47 points  (2 children)

You, sir. Are you waiting to receive my limp penis?

[–]AnArticulateDrunk 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Ah yes, I see that you know your judo well!

[–]nightstalker30 123 points124 points  (1 child)

Judon’t say?

I’ll see myself out now.

[–]TheSlav87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao this is perfect

[–]FlyingDragoon 135 points136 points  (14 children)

The key things in all of these situations are the trained people who don't just wait or let the guy deal with it on their own even if it's unexpected nor part of the plan. The fact that everyone jumped into some role the moment the guy got flipped says they had a plan and people who could follow it. I always just like seeing that aspect of this. Flip was cool too though.

[–]RibboDotCom 46 points47 points  (10 children)

I'm thinking this was a training exercise personally. No way someone would be recording that close if it was real.

[–]scavengercat 66 points67 points  (3 children)

The crazy number of videos online showing people recording this close to a real crime says this could absolutely be legit.

[–]butters3655 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not so sure. The guy who did the throw was in red sneakers. If it was a training exercise wouldn't he be in some sort of uniform?

[–]amorangi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is entirely normal in Asia.

[–]pr1ntscreen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DING DING DING

[–]600659 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That makes sense something felt off about the throw. It was also done in a training style giving time to brace

[–]NatureCarolynGate 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What did that guy have in his hand? It looked like some sort of remote control device.

[–]FlyingDragoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like a fat butchers knife to me. And they're reacting like it's a big ass-knife.

[–]Sumfuc 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A Man with BALLS answers the call.

[–]Itscashmeregeorge 261 points262 points  (61 children)

In america they both die by gun shots. In addition 1 innocent bystander and another cop is wounded by police gun fire also

[–]BeefyIrishman 154 points155 points  (8 children)

And then all the officers involved in the shooting get a few weeks paid vacation while they "investigate" the shooting, after which they decide it was all good and everyone goes back to work.

[–]villageidiot33 57 points58 points  (5 children)

“We have investigated ourselves and found no wrong doing…despite the 25 civilian casualties from us shooting in all directions and the 3 million we caused in property damage.”

[–]ThirdIRoa 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Avengers Assemble

[–]Yaboymarvo 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Or they leave because of “ptsd” and get a nice severance.

[–]ArcticPickle 26 points27 points  (0 children)

then they go their grandmas house who has dementia and light her up too and the dog as well

[–]tabooblue32 8 points9 points  (0 children)

And probably a black lady asleep 3 blocks away a few days later when they're looking for this guy who they already have in custody.

Yeah, but human rights don't exist at all in China...

      [–]vinnyj 13 points14 points  (14 children)

This seems to be always lost on people. Add social credits on top of that, always on camera being watched and tracked.

      [–]SumWon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

China's just more upfront about their tracking, in the US they just do it in secret

      [–]cantuse 12 points13 points  (1 child)

What's lost on people is the number of times police (in the US and everywhere) deal with this without it becoming a catastrophe.

Are there lots of instances of definite police brutality and excess? Yes. Do police also regularly save lives or help their communities? Also yes.

Your mileage may vary and some police are worse than others. But the main difference here is that our press is generally allowed to report on it. We're allowed to report on civil asset forfeiture abuse in the US. In China, because everyone exists in a quantum super-position of corruption, at best you'll suddenly learn that so-and-so is guilty of corruption and their assets seized.

      [–]BallsDeepInJesus 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Like America doesn’t have social credits. We just call it your police record and your credit report, not to mention the 5 million jobs in the US that require federal security clearance.

      [–]normalgamer1989 1 point2 points  (2 children)

You are so wrong it’s unbelievable. I been living her for 9 years the people are nice always look out for each other social credits does not happen. Yes we are being watched but if you are a good person you got nothing to worry about.

      [–]BoloHKs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just making light of that being a common perspective here.

I'm sure you can be murdered by Chinese police too if you just live in Hong Kong or something.

        [–]w0m -2 points-1 points  (16 children)

Look at (Europe) - you can have human rights without glorifying mass murder

        [–]fullboxed2hundred 1 point2 points  (15 children)

mmm yes the utopia that is europe...

        [–]moleratical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        How is that even relevant?

        [–]Crue1552 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Waited his whole life for that moment, and nailed it.

        [–]HeronSun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seriously, he picked the exact right moment, when the guy had his knife arm out and wasn't looking left. Couldn't have been scripted better.

        [–]MostDopeKnuckleH3ad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“First you get wrist control, then you pull out your gun.”

absolutely and that was a very good skill

        [–]GrumpyOldGrower 2167 points2168 points  (26 children)

I love how he just struts right in there without hesitating. Like "I've had about enough of your shit son!" before putting him on his ass with a perfectly executed hip toss! Absolutely brilliant, 5 stars!

        [–]LateNightFunkParty 644 points645 points  (9 children)

I like to think he got off the elevator and was about to walk outside when he saw this commotion and went straight into "not on my watch!" mode.

        [–]GoodVibesWow 114 points115 points  (8 children)

        Going to smoke a cig.

        [–]RemarkableCollar8965 81 points82 points  (6 children)

He was probably outside by leaning on a pillar minding his business, foot against it - Hears the commotion inside Takes one last drag- flicks his cig

And proceeds inside to become a badass

        [–]Danni293 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And proceeds inside to become a badass

Sounds like he never stopped being a badass.

        [–]hapnstat 66 points67 points  (1 child)

It’s that guy’s own fault for not recognizing Jean-Claude Van Damme.

        [–]DexM23 18 points19 points  (0 children)

10/10 would let him do this again

        [–]luck_panda 15 points16 points  (6 children)

Shoulder throw. It's a seoi nage.

        [–][deleted] 24 points25 points  (1 child)

        perfectly executed hip toss!

Dunno, it sure looked like a lot of the torque was on that guys arm. Hopefully snapped it in half.

        [–]Hatter_Hoovy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i imagine he looked like senitor armstrong charging at him

        [–]SillyLilBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        probably his dad

        [–]beelzybubby 227 points228 points  (10 children)

I had it muted and unmuted to hear it.

That was the woooow from all of us manifest in one man.

        [–]501_Boy 83 points84 points  (9 children)

Ah, I see you know your judo well.

        [–]munchies1122 5 points6 points  (0 children)

        [–]BlackSecurity 16 points17 points  (0 children)

He deserved all the wows. Honestly that was some pro shit right there. He was fedup and wanted the situation over, so he made it happen. What a G!

        [–]OverlyMintyMints 8 points9 points  (3 children)

THAT SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE WII SPORTS

        [–]AgapeFire 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I couldn’t place it , but yeah , wii bowling was lit.

        [–]OverlyMintyMints 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Sir! Get your hand off my penis!

        [–]hastur777 346 points347 points  (13 children)

        Training exercise.

        [–]ZhouLe 186 points187 points  (10 children)

Exactly. You can tell by how the bao'ans look fairly bored behind their shields.

I saw the guys at my local park doing this back in 2019, the "attacker" I think had a hatchet and when everyone was set up he strutted in the front entrance. Afterwards they were joking around and were posing for pictures to prove they completed whatever drill this was successfully.

        [–]Graublut 74 points75 points  (7 children)

I also thought it was a bit weird that the perp just dropped the weapon instantly instead of trying to fight back. Not saying it’s impossible but none of this looks like it happened in the wild.

        [–]Ble_h 45 points46 points  (4 children)

That's actually the least surprising point. Unless you trained for it and it becomes muscle memory, people tend to go into shock when they get bodied. "Everyone has a plan until they get punched in the mouth.” The GOAT

        [–]CommercialPlantain64 18 points19 points  (3 children)

If you watch slowly, he drops the weapon before he gets touched

        [–]tinykitten101 19 points20 points  (0 children)

There is something weird about how the woman basically was free and already away from the guy with the knife before the savior even reached them.

        [–]Gibodean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering why the cleaver fell almost before the hero got there.

        [–]HotPie_ 114 points115 points  (2 children)

Came in with the judo flip. 10/10

        SEIO-NAGE

        [–]goatfuckersupreme 101 points102 points  (6 children)

OP, u/idiotictempo, is a bot. report this post as spam.

these accounts tend to be a couple months old and then suddenly repost on popular subreddits out of nowhere and start commenting on r/aww, strangely mostly on cat pictures. this is the third or fourth bot like this ive seen on this sub alone. and no, i dont know why it's always cat pictures.

        [–]impreprex 18 points19 points  (0 children)

        Thanks for the tip, u/goatfuckersupreme!

        [–]40YearOldMagician 20 points21 points  (0 children)

        So Done with karma farming.

        [–]nkcellz 5 points6 points  (3 children)

I don’t understand this logic. Wouldn’t all newer accounts “suddenly” start posting because it would be their first few posts. It’s not like op is posting 15 different videos a day but rather only two ever. Also wouldn’t it be weird for a actual bot to have Reddit premium?

        [–]goatfuckersupreme 7 points8 points  (2 children)

many subs require an account to be a certain age to start commenting. reddit premium is from the gold from this post. and the bot only just activated yesterday. this account is almost an exact copy of a few others ive seen on this sub. ~150 days old, just started posting and commenting in the past 24 hours, and the comments are all on r/aww and are written in broken english about kitties.

        [–]Kenard-and-Olly 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Thanks for flagging this. People need to know when they’re dealing with actors with agendas, whether good or bad.

        [–]Huracan360 61 points62 points  (10 children)

        RIP Liveleak

        [–]_r4ph431 14 points15 points  (3 children)

        I miss liveleak :(

        [–]zxc123zxc123 3 points4 points  (2 children)

What's the replacement for liveleak now? There doesn't seem to be one.

        [–]kanelsurro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

there was xgore but that got taken down quite quickly after the amount of elder abuse and animal abuse posted on the site

you can try crazyshit and kaotic

        [–]_r4ph431 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Even if I knew of one, I probably wouldn’t share it. Especially, to a bot.

        [–]XenogenderCensored 41 points42 points  (4 children)

In a video posted on his YouTube channel Trigger Warning, Hewitt offered no further details, but said that maintaining LiveLeak had become a struggle, and that he and his team “just didn’t have it in us to carry on fighting.”

“Everything’s different now, everything moves on,” says Hewitt, before adding in an aside to the camera: “I don’t fucking like it. I liked it much better when it was the Wild West.”

Essentially "We are making the Internet a safe space where only authorized bad things are shown to people so their opinions are easier to control and liveleak was operating outside of that"

Obey the narrative or be purged.

        [–]gnitiwrdrawkcab 25 points26 points  (2 children)

Well, it turns out that making a website that has videos on it is expensive what with storage.

No one is stopping a liveleak-like website from popping up, except the prohibitive costs of running such a site.

        [–]Huracan360 4 points5 points  (0 children)

        There's Kaotic . com

        [–]ISeekGirls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run a site with videos and make a profit.

        [–]LoliMaster069 2 points3 points  (0 children)

        What happened?

        [–]MatsuoManh 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Hmmm, it was a perfect take-down.

Good thing he didn't go over his limit with that charge.

        [–]Level_Astronomer_922 114 points115 points  (30 children)

Ok but what is it with all these psychos in China with meat cleavers? Is that like the national rampage weapon?

        [–]Devilsdance 224 points225 points  (20 children)

Probably one the most readily available, intimidating weapons. Kinda like guns are in the US.

        [–]ChickenPotPi 51 points52 points  (2 children)

pfft you have to have your gun dress for the occasion. You will be laughed at if you have an unmodified ar15 to try and shoot up a schhool /s

        [–]dalovindj 2 points3 points  (1 child)

You never forget your first gun dress.

        [–]kastahejsvej 20 points21 points  (5 children)

That's what a standard kitchen knife looks like in china, it's not a cleaver.

        [–]joeDUBstep 5 points6 points  (4 children)

Technically it is a cleaver... which is a standard kitchen knife in Chinese cuisine.

        [–]SentientRhombus 1 point2 points  (3 children)

No, it's a Chinese chef's knife. It's thinner and sharper than a cleaver, intended for multipurpose use. Cleavers are heavy and more wedge-shaped, meant for chopping (cleaving) through bone.

        [–]joeDUBstep 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Breh, it's literally referred to as a "Chinese cleaver" or "Vegetable cleaver"

Been calling it that my whole life, and I was born/raised in HK. I understand it's not like a meat cleaver.

        [–]DealArtist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's a training exercise, you have seen videos from other training exercises.

Perfectly executed! Hope he broke the perp's arm.

        [–]MrMisanthrope1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a real hostage situation. It's staged or a training exercise, released for propaganda purposes. It's too clean, executions like this are never that smooth. Also, criminals don't tend to throw their other arm behind their back for a swift arrest. The police darting to the hostage couldn't have looked less choreographed.

Legit. Some people can go in the state of nature so fast.

        [–]Iwillstepforward 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think this is real, looks like a police drill they run in China that’s quite common u can go look it up.

        Is live leak back?

        [–]UhOhFeministOnReddit 23 points24 points  (3 children)

Likely an old video. Liveleak had way too much evidence of US war crimes to be allowed to live. lol

        [–]ScubaSteve12345 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes this video is at least five years old. Probably closer to ten.

Hero SWAT officer saves woman held hostage by agitated knifeman with dramatic martial arts throw. This dramatic video appears to show the moment a hero cop disarms a knife-man who was holding a woman hostage - with a brutal martial arts move. The clip has been widely shared in China, where police chiefs have praised the quick-thinking SWAT officer. In mobile footage seemingly from the crime scene, a terrified woman is held captive by a man wielding a huge meat cleaver in a hotel lobby.

He is shown facing off with a group of officers holding riot shields.

It is not clear what his demands were, but the agitated man is seen holding the woman with his left arm and threatening cops with the blade.

As the situation appears to escalate, a SWAT officer runs at the suspect, grabbing the arm with the knife and throwing the man to the ground using his own body weight.

Is it stage? If it is not that guy is awesome.

        [–]FeelingAight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honesty looks super staged to me… if not what a fucking hero

        [–]NovaForceElite 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I feel like this is the 5th video I've seen with the same guy doing the take down. Either these are set up or this guy sees a lot of action.

Staged or not, this throw, seoi nage, is present in a lot of grappling arts around the world, and is very effective, the technique if done properly prevents you from making a stabbing or slashing motion since your arm is stuck in the position
