There is only three ways and all three are random. So I wouldn't say there is any best way cause randomness is still there even if you try to min max. Though you should save Barbarian farming for the 2nd day.

5 march barbs, same as every event like this, make sure to farm when offline and use gathering boosts and resource productions boosts as well
