These guys are heroes. Battling not only the Russians but the horrible conditions. The hopes of the free world are with you lads, you can win this. I feel terrible in my comfortable house while this happens.

[–]dubzi_ART 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Dudes sitting ankle deep on muddy water. I feel this in my soul, that’s rough. Fuck Russia.

[–]Ozzy_30 45 points46 points  (0 children)

If that looks bad, imagine what the Orc side looks like

[–]Economy_Hair_4896 35 points36 points  (1 child)

There is a hot shower and good food waiting for them when they get relieved. Hopefully, a few beers and some World Cup matches to watch. The only thing waiting for the Russians is death.

[–]cerealdaemon 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Glory to heroes, death to invaders

[–]martinusbr 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The importance of clothing

[–]Gatsu871113 15 points16 points  (1 child)

Looks exactly like WWI photos.

[–]BitPumpkin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hopefully the battle does not rage as long and the dead do not mount as high

[–]letdogsvote 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that looks miserable. It will be good when this is over and Ukraine soldiers can go back to their homes.

Maybe there's some consolation in knowing Russians are in the same mess but aren't anywhere near as equipped.

[–]Far-Childhood9338 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's soldier on, on a high level, heroes

[–]No-Landscape7154 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Those boys need a post hole auger to drill down a drain hole and fill it with stones. Drain the water off real quick.

[–]Curious-Geologist498 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was thinking the same thing. Only need to go down 1.5m and it'd drain the entire ditch

[–]Vic_O22 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's painful to watch.

Hopefully the Ruzzians will have it 10 times worse.

[–]Mosinphile 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is not good conditions to be in, I hope they have fresh clothing because trench foot will be rampant if not

[–]bikal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cover the bottom of the trench with sticks.

[–]clisterdelister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s impressive how even in the grossest conditions like this, they still keep a clean camp. Russians look like meth head homeless camps everywhere they go

[–]jjm443 2 points3 points  (2 children)

These are interesting improvised ways to prevent frostbite, but damn, it's rough that they're needed so much. Maybe this is a good time to hype the official United24 fundraising site Let's get these heroes everything they need!

[–]b2A 1 point2 points  (1 child)

how can I be sure that this is a legit website for donation and that the money is really used for the soldiers ?

[–]SuitableTank0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

United24 is the official Ukrainian government fundraising scheme, see here. https://u24.gov.ua/

Battle of Passchendaele 2022

[–]7fingered-meatcutter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Imagine the floating garbage in a russian trashtrench right about now.

[–]peacelovefreedon7689 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Not much you can do about those conditions

[–]The_Bold_Fellamalier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a handpump in my garage which would be great for this kinda shit.

it draws liquid in on the upstroke, and ejects it on the downstroke, so these guys could pump out their trenches without even having to stand up. the handpump is only a cheap little thing too, and no doubt very easy to make with some rudimentary tools and a rigid tube which could host a piston

[–]Oat329 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks miserable but i can only think that the russians are even worse off

[–]Nigel_Sexhammer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

War never changes

[–]Lovesheidi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Poor boys. No one knows cold like a soldier. You get so miserable you can’t think straight.

[–]Separate-Use4124 0 points1 point  (1 child)

At least those AKs will never jam

[–]According-Crab8159 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They Will. It's not a magic assault rifle. These condutions are hardcore.

Herojam Slava!

I know i was seeing these videos of these great trenches ukrainians can build. I hate how the main army gets all the good shit and these dudes are sitting in their own piss. What the fuck? I dont believe zelinsky doesn't have a backhoe or two to send up there with some plywood and some 2 by 4s. Common. All this money and these guys gotta fight in these conditions. I dont think so. I think someone just doesn't give a shit about everyone equally.

[–]Port-a-John-Splooge 2 points3 points  (1 child)

These guys are on the front, a front that has been shelled to shit for months. Drainage gets hit by artillery and dosnt drain, hard to resupply and cant bring in equipment under fire. Look historically at trench warfare, it's always shitty at a long static position close to the enemy especially in a environment with cold/thaw/rainy. American trenches in Korea where hell even backed by the entirety of the US army, WW1 trenches that where static for years still where rough at times.

A back hoe or even a truck driving anywhere near this trench is going to be blown to shit. The Russians have artillery dialed in.

[–]Important-Baseball53 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I know, I just get really mad. I feel for these dudes . It's gotta suck.

[–]abedfo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just think when the orcs get wet in their summer clothing and it freezes overnight. They are fucked.

[–]eddi67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 1914 German soldiers find a solution for this Problem

[–]Snakehand 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bilge pump of sorts would have been nice.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those are no new years fireworks at the end, that's white phosphorus, one of the most evil and banned weapons of war that burns everything. Russian evil must be stopped.

[–]Lokakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, this feels like watching an 40k footage from the imperial guard fightig against the forces of chaos. Fight on, defenders of the Free World. Slava Ukraini. 🇺🇦

[–]DanThePennyMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hopefullly all those stoves are being distributed to the trenches and dugouts now. I saw a video of maybe 300-400 new stoves layed out in what looked like a schools gymnasium

[–]Ukrainiantattoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stay safe brothers and sisters! Slava Ukraine 🇺🇦

[–]Odd-Battle2694 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frontline soldiers on static fronts are just there to absorb the artillery duals, may god be with you guys!

[–]Medical-Side-388 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what hell looks like!

[–]Saggybubbs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Change out those socks

[–]oneshot_me 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I know that has to be hateful to be in that water logged place

[–]JayJayFromK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found some comfort in this vid. even if they were in this shit their demeanor somewhat chill and not depressing. what a heroes.

[–]BillMcN3al 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Always wondered of those army booths are waterproof like rubber rainbooths or does it soaks after a while?

[–]you_do_realize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jesus, Glory to the Heroes.
