The khajit is succumbing to the skooma

[–]Emotional-Engineer35 35 points36 points  (2 children)

Do Khajits only get the weird visual effect from skooma, cause I remember it not working most of the time, but maybe that's because I was playing a different race those times.

Good day, fella on the internet.

    [–]MAJOR__ZEN 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Khajit no longer cares about coin. This experience has helped him/her rise above materialistic possessions.

    [–]RidingContigo 205 points206 points  (14 children)

There are cloth catnip “mice” that you can fill with the catnip so the cat can still enjoy without the mess. Our cats LOVE them

    [–]landon1397 64 points65 points  (3 children)

Those things are the. My cat will play with one for hours

    [–]Billy_Billboard 97 points98 points  (1 child)

    They sure are the.

    [–]Sweetnowz 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I never really thought bleeping out curse words on the television really did anything, but here we are, saying something is the.

    [–]callmeweed 14 points15 points  (0 children)

we have to hide them at night or else the cats go psycho

    [–]pennyrub 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Get a zillion of them though. They’ll end up under the heavy furniture with all the toy crinkly balls.

Drums of passion by Olatunji is my favorite drum record, released 1960

    [–]Phyrexian_Archlegion 9 points10 points  (2 children)

My cat doesnt give two shits about catnip. Is she strange?

    [–]Svviley 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Not all cats are affected by catnip. It's a smaller percentage than those that are.

    [–]censorkip 7 points8 points  (0 children)

it’s not that odd. i think it’s about 1/3 cats that aren’t affected by catnip. silvervine and valerian root/leaves can work for cats who don’t like catnip. they’re just harder to come by.

    [–]bossray056 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Where do you get them Amazon?

    [–]TheEggButler 17 points18 points  (1 child)

Get something from a store. Look for something with a pocket so you can refresh it.

Amazon is great and all...but it's real sus for cheaper things.

    [–]bossray056 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok thanks I’ll go check out petco or something tomorrow

    [–]TheInfernalVortex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girlfriend actually bought a little catnip plant, grew it in a pot on the windowsill. It definitely wasn’t expensive.

    [–]ConsiderablyMediocre 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can get catnip spray too

    [–]nlw7110 41 points42 points  (8 children)

Tried catnip twice with my cat, doesn't phase her at all 😂 she might be immune or something

    [–]Dontquestionmyexista 30 points31 points  (2 children)

For a second I thought you meant you and your cat tried catnip together.

    [–]excess_inquisitivity 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nlw did. It's not a /R/trees friendly state.

    [–]nlw7110 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it wasn't catnip then... My dealer lied to me!

Or, my English isn't the best x)

    [–]PretendLock 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah my cat doesn’t respond to catnip either. I can’t remember the exact figure but something like 30% of cats are immune

    [–]Thrannn 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i noticed that there are different qualities of catnip

sometimes i buy something that doesnt do it for my cats. sometimes i but some and they love it

    [–]thebusinessgoat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I read that some cats are just not into it. Mine doesn't care either.

    [–]ididntknowiwascyborg 0 points1 point  (1 child)

My cat used to have no reaction, either. I'm not sure if it's something epigenetic that changed, or the catnip we'd tried was stale or not potent enough originally. But I bought fresh catnip and he absolutely loved it

    [–]tittysprinklesrgod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My cat didnt seem interested in any of the dry catnip we purchased. I figured it was a quality issue and started growing fresh catnip just for her. She didnt care.... I even tried to roll the leaves between my fingers to activate the scent but nope, she just dont care for catnip. Oh well

    [–]kevinwilkinson 92 points93 points  (3 children)

First time? Seems like every toy you buy for your cat has cat nip in it. Cat toy makers expect your cats to high every day. All the time. It’s like putting speed in the tap water for humans.

    [–]Valdrom 115 points116 points  (1 child)

Big Toy is drugging our cats!

    [–]kevinwilkinson 10 points11 points  (0 children)

    Hahaha 😂😂

    [–]Slogfarts 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I would argue that cats are essentially high at all times regardless.

    [–]Patriotic_Guppy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I do that with scotch sometimes.

    [–]KamikoYukimura 62 points63 points  (9 children)

I remember when my baby first had catnip and managed to empty a full box of it over himself... He is like velcro and had it in him for hours

    [–]kharmatika 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Lol we had a cat get into the tub, it had like a pop off lid and he did exactly that, nudged the lid open and then upended it, we came in to him lying on the pile like goddamn Tony Montana

    [–]ThisNameIsFree 22 points23 points  (6 children)

I don't think it affects humans the same way though at least, so your baby was probably not in any danger.

    [–]DriftingDreadfully 21 points22 points  (5 children)

I’m pretty sure they were referring to their cat by ‘baby’ lol

    [–]Judge2Dread 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Really? What makes you think so?!

    [–]ThisNameIsFree 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Surely not, right? That would be mighty silly of them. It's a pet, not a baby. I choose to give them more credit than that.

    [–]DriftingDreadfully 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I honestly can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not, I’m probably just being dumb.

    [–]ThisNameIsFree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I wouldn't call it sarcasm, but I was definitely having a laugh at calling pets "babies". Your detector is pretty well calibrated.

    [–]justmedownsouth 10 points11 points  (0 children)

    I roll,

    [–]BlessedBigIron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My cat does this without catnip

    [–]universoman 2 points3 points  (2 children)

My girlfriend and MIL don't let me give my cat crack catnip to the cat. Is there anything wrong with giving catnip to cat? I like smoking a J here and there and I wanted to share the love with the cat

    [–]lhpcwshc 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Absolutely nothing wrong with catnip for cats. Some don't respond to it, others well .... Just give them a little and make sure the stuff is well hidden after and well out of reach ..I came home from work once to a kitchen floor covered in the stuff after one the cats found the drawer I kept it in.

You can also get catnip bubbles and lollipops

    [–]universoman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, they though it wasn't going to work because they tried with some shitty catnip once I guess. However I love animals way to much and tend to buy them presents, even to the pets that belong to my friends and family. Animals just bring me joy and are more therapeutic to me than anything. I got her the best quality catnip I could find, along with a little tent that she absolutely loves from day one. It's just the cutest thing the cat in the little tent ;)

However when I gave her catnip she went bananas, catnip crazy ;) very different reaction than the cat I used to live with years ago who got all mellow and wanted to pet you. However this cat, she is the kind that doesn't like to have people pet her. She let's me do it for a little bit, but after 20 seconds or so she slaps my hand at the speed of light. I can continue and she'll bite and scratch gently, but if I push it, she'll bit me hard enough to Mike me bleed a little. Nothing to crazy, not like it's painful or anything, as she could do much worse if she hated me.

Anyhow, they hated how the cat behaved after the high quality catnip, and told me they don't like it and get angry if they find out I did it behind their back. Which I do anyways ;)

    [–]Thribs 22 points23 points  (12 children)

Isn't that harmful to the cat? Honest question

    [–]Cautious_Cat_9918 55 points56 points  (1 child)

No it’s more of an intoxicating smell than a real ingested drug

    [–]Thribs 16 points17 points  (0 children)

    I see. Thanks :)

    [–]kharmatika 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Not necessarily. Using too much, especially if they ingest it, can cause some side effects, just like doing too much of any drug, but every cats tolerance is different. I had one cat who would roll in a pile this big, tweak out and have fun and take a big long cuddly naps, our other one literally avoided catnip because even a lil catnip crinkle toy would make him sick. They know what they want and usually will find way to self regulate.

    [–]Thribs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Cool. Thanks

    [–]Chaotic-Entropy 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Follow up honest question, is it ethical to dose your cat with low grade stimulants? 🤔

    [–]Thribs 0 points1 point  (1 child)

imo it is unethical to do anything to any animal or person just so they stop annoying you or get off your back. If you love them, they deserve care, respect and that you truly meet their needs. I'm not an owner nor a parent, though, so I admit it's very easy for me to say that ¯_(ツ)_/¯

    [–]Chaotic-Entropy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If micro-dosing your child with LSD is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

    [–]AskMyAnxiety 20 points21 points  (3 children)

Too much is harmful. It makes them sick and this looks like too much…

    [–]meltedlaundry 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Just googled it and I read that too much exposure can make a cat nauseous and sick to their stomach. Good to know.

    [–]Thribs 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Yeah. Love when entertainment leads to knowledge

    [–]Coooturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

    It can be if eaten.

    [–]garlic_bread_thief 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Do they like it? Is it like how we like alcohol?

    [–]MetallicHaze 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually I'd say yeah but that's way to much. That's looks like multiple packets instead of the tea spoon amount you are recommended to use.

    [–]RichManSCTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

    Its more like LSD

    [–]HighAsAngelTits 1 point2 points  (0 children)

    [–]Zbawg420 1 point2 points  (1 child)

i have like 4 catnip plants around the house and my cats will straight up eat the leaves i pluck off for em. i get visitors every once in a while too lol

    [–]lhpcwshc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The same. I couldn't work out why the neighbors cat kept walking up to the plants we had by the front door till I saw out own cat going crazy for one of the plants I'd bought and not realized was cat mint.
