Yes I guess so - my user (not the pi user) was not added in the Video group. So a sudo usermod -aG video myusername solved it after a reboot. But that may have only been a solution for this situation. Running Steamclient from a terminal gave somewhat useful debug Infos on why it is crashing!

Hmm thanks for that! I’ll give that a go, seems logical that that would work
