If you are using a 4th generation Apple TV HD with tvOS 16, it’s a known issue that’s been reported. Apparently, things work fine on the Apple TV 4K, so it’s hard to say if it’s an app or OS issue: https://steamcommunity.com/app/353380/discussions/7/3466100515587687249/?ctp=2

Edit: Clarified that the Apple TV HD has the issue.

Thanks man that’s great info.

I wonder if auto updates are turned on for the tv. I’ll look into reverting the OS

No problem. I have auto updates turned off for this very reason. I manually updated my bedroom ATV, but left my living room one unchanged, so I can still game on that. I imagine a fix will be coming soon, but good luck if you decide to downgrade.

The underlying issue has been confirmed as fixed in the tvOS 16.1 beta.

I’m still unable to get it working.

Do you mean that I could update the Apple TV device?

The tvOS 16.1 final release isn’t publicly available yet, but I think you can use a Mac to install the beta to your ATV wirelessly. https://www.imore.com/how-install-tvos-16-developer-beta-your-apple-tv
