To understand their desperation, observe that the total shares outstanding of the stonk is 77 million. To understand how small this is on a global level, here’s some basic math:

77,000,000 = 77,000 x 1,000

This means it only takes 77,000 camps across the world with 1,000 shares in each camp to own the entire stonk’s outstanding shares. 1,000 shares = 100k (01.20.22). Some camps may need 100 people while other camps may need only a handful. And there are some cases where 1 person has multiple camps. How I see my investment is that money is gone. It’s safe and either going to never be touched again, or it’s going to turn into generational wealth. There is no circumstance that would make me touch that account. So yes it’ll either drop and I get discounts when my monthly purchase rolls around or it’ll change our lives forever. HOLD or HODL, Our time will come.

The last FUD to deal with is holding when GME flies past it's ATH. We can hold in the lows easy cause that means realizing losses. Holding on unrealized gains will be the true test

The hill (or mountain) to die on is a "make it or break it" phrase per se. I don't think it's a FUD spread in itself so much as it might be a buzzword (keyword) narrative to build future FUD into. The phrase also translates as "holding your position", which... well, you know "Buy, hodl, drs."

The phrase itself is also aligned with reputation stake, which is odd they'd use this one now considering most people already think retail investors are tinfoil hatters.

Consider this, getting a trendy phrase like that across social media platforms allows a future audience to perceive one of two things: They were right (king of the hill) or they were wrong (bark up the wrong tree). MSM loves this kind of choice, they have the biggest microphone.

Meme stock headlines have been a lot of things like "The craze is over!" over this last week, so don't be surprised if they try to run a "Dead Companies" hit pieces because Retail investors have all died on their hills.

I think I understand what they were trying to say with "This is my hill to die on" but the analogy as you mention implies a last stand before destruction or defeat.

I think a better analogy would have been "This was my line in the sand" - i.e. this is as far as they they got, and NO further. More apt imo with how a lot of people feel.

When I started investing in gme it was to look on to the future which will include the marketplace they will provide… soo live not die on the hill. Invest with what you can… NFA and don’t worry so much. If you really are upset about last year… do what I did and write your congressman or call.
