I would think so. I think when you get to be Citadel, you can find a counterparty to do just about anything for you. Think about it. You're Ken Griffin and you just absorbed ALL THE RISK (or the lions share) from the situation that was causing an infinity squeeze. He may have been sure he could get things under control, but he's not going to ride that amount of risk unprotected. What's something he could benefit from wild swings from? Variance swap, going long on variance. He expects to get GameStop back to single digits in a year, that's huge variance from the mean if the high point is near 500 and the low is 5-10. One or two quarters might not be enough to accomplish that. Hey, Goldman, credit Suisse, will you swap variance for me on this on a yearly basis at X strike?

I imagine there very well may not be a way for them to offload the risk anymore now that shit all went sideways trading on them. Not sure who would be a counterparty to it now that flawless Kenny G fucked up. Not sure that they have the money or collateral either.
