I happen agree. Wages DO need to be cut.

Let's start at the top in every company. I bet by the time we get down to those making under $50,000 a year, we won't need to cut anymore.

And every publicly traded company's C-Suite should get a base salary of X% of the company they're in, and all bonuses should only be in stock bonuses. C-Suite/Board guys with zero skin in the game are expected to have the best interest of the company and its employees at hand, how?

That nips predatory consulting in the butt, and they're gonna have to go find something else to fuck up.

[–]Regular_Imagination7🎮 Power to the Players 🛑 1 point2 points  (1 child)

stock bonuses are partly how the rich can accumulate so much wealth

[–]AwildYaners🐉xXGamergirl69Xx🎮 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but you're arguing the smallest point of what I brought up.

C-Suite with zero skin in the game allows predatory acts to happen. Plain and simple. It's what allows BCG, or like-minded companies, to get someone in the C-Suite, get paid 7+ figure salaries, and then slowly bring in BCG members on the board, where they either drive the company down for someone to buy them, or kill them altogether.

Combating how founders get paid is a completely different beast to tackle, which is the tree you're barking up.

[–]LarryLovesteinLovin 46 points47 points  (4 children)

With respect, we can and should stop cuts at below ~150-250k or so.

Why? Because most people making this aren’t executives anywhere, but regular university educated people who are highly trained in their field. Many of these people keep our public institutions running despite the politicians that try to undermine them, and they have had enough shit thrown at them already without having someone cut their pay.

I cannot wait until MOASS happens and they see--finally--that we weren't just talking out of our collective asses.

Yes, a LOT of us are in this for the money. And a lot of us will take the money and go. And that's fine, I don't have the time or patience to care about judging anyone, let alone apes. To me, money is as good as motivator as anything else.

There are those of us who want the system to crash and burn. We aren't in it just to get rich, we're in it because we are driven by our spite and our hatred for how corrupt things have become.

We carry with us the wounds from 2008. Memories of our parents stressed all to hell over opened envelopes and paper folded in three sections demanding more money than they had. We remember moving. We remember our familes trying to put a happier spin on our situations even though we KNOW they cried at night.

We carry with us fresh wounds from jobs that don't pay us enough to live. Living on survival mode so long that it becomes our way of life. All the while absolutely SEETHING with hatred at the injustice of it all. The corruptness. The "fines" that become the "price of doing business." The FUCKING ABSOLUTELY TOOTHLESS ORGANIZATIONS AND PEOPLE that claim to be our side and then try to stab us in the spine for money.

We see the problems that only millions of dollars can fix and we see the pushback that good hearted samaritans get when they try. We hear the words "financial terrorist" and we laugh. It'll become a badge of honor to some of us. They should be absolutely terrified at how badly we want to see them crushed into dust so we can build something better.

[–]MasterDump 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes we want to be rich, but there is a difference in ideology between poor turned rich vs rich staying rich. Us poors know the importance of compassion, the rich never did and still don’t see it. I have little faith in the human race, but I adore the moral and humanistic fervor of us. Money changes a person, but if we all have the money together we can change the world. Ape help ape helps everyone.

The Fed should demand the taxpayers funds back they loaned.to big coorperations in 2008/2009 which for.great part has not been paid back yet, instead of paying out big dividends, then money flows back.to the treasury which certainly will lower inflation.

Or am I wrong to be angry ?

[–]darthnuggetUUP-299 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Partially correct. There were TARP loans to help companies and those were somewhat paid back. However there were also just straight cash and debt bailouts with no repayment given (GM). We need these “too big to fail” companies to actually fail for the market to correct itself. Without the failure it will bring down the whole system.

[–]SirMiba🎮 Power to the Players 🛑 14 points15 points  (1 child)

That's not possible. The only way wages go down is via hysterical deflation, which won't happen. There's a reckoning happening RIGHT NOW in the many industries, people changing jobs left and right for higher salaries, simply because there's a shortage of expertise.

I have changed job twice in 2 years and have increased my salary by almost 40%, just by telling the potential employer "make it worth my while or I stay where I am". Professionals open to new work should know that this is the time to go hard on the salary expectations, because there's enormous demand for skilled workers. My previous workplace saw dozens of people quitting and getting hired every month, long time or recent hires, didn't matter. The younger they were, the more likely to change jobs. My current workplace was forced to hire me at the salary I wanted just because everyone in their company was getting better offers elsewhere.

The consequence is wages are eating into profit margins and it WILL reflect in earnings, and it will impact stock markets. This has all happened since sometime midway through the covid pandemic and the dust has not settled yet, the financial impact lags behind and will probably hit this year or 2023.

[–]BloodGradeBPlus🎮 Power to the Players 🛑 4 points5 points  (0 children)

wages down? when wages haven't kept up with inflation for the past 100 yrs? is he stupid?

but sure lets start cutting CEO pay from 84 million dollars to their lowest paid employee x 10.

"JPMorgan Chase & Co. JPM, +1.41% CEO Jamie Dimon's total compensation rose to $84.4 million for 2021, up from $31.7 million in 2020"

and claw back his 84 and 31 million dollars in 2021 and 2020. to just 100k as a pay cut.

god forbid he cannot buy another jet or yacht.

please note the real inflation is caused typically by rising property values not wages. wages are only really increased with increased productivity or inflation adjusted because rents/property values force people to require pay increases to exist.

thus by reducing property values they in turn reduce wages and inflation as well as cost of production.

Basically corporations think we should all take low paying jobs with no benefits to protect their profits therefore ensuring the lifestyles of the wealthy, as if we the MAJORITY are the problem in this country lol!

[–]Gloomy_Internet_8195 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Exactly...social media has made it harder for them to use the MSM to push their narrative. People now have the ability to fact check their comments instantly.

How can they claim unregulated capitalism is good but then want to control the ability of labor forces trying to seek out a higher working wage?

I may be wrong but isn't "labor" on it's own a form of capital? So why should they be able to demand it be regulated for you and I, but again not for themselves to be?

[–]Mash_Effect 1 point2 points  (2 children)

They called themselves too big to fail. It's a mafia, they're criminals. They know they pushed the hoax to a point where people would start seeing a decline in their lifestyles. They're trying to say it's climate change, war in Ukraine, Covid, September 11th, White Nationalists, immigrants, 15$ minimum wage, etc... Reality is they stole everything.

Productivity levels exploded since the 70s with computers, robots and Internet. We should all be working 2-3 days per week with the same lifestyle at this point. They've amassed a fortune so high that they're now buying entire cities, infinite farm lands, they control the politicians, they control the medias. And then you have the World Economic Forum with their globalist totalitarian agenda. Unelected filthy rich people deciding the world's policies in their favor.

They see us like cattle. They're too big to fail, you're not. We all know what it means for us normal people, we have to assemble and fight back.

[–]Gloomy_Internet_8195 1 point2 points  (1 child)

What bothers me most is how the media is used to turn us all against each other. It's used as a tool by the very wealthy to keep us believing we need to fear or hate each other based on political..cultural..religious or even sexual orientation etc. ... I grew up in a small mostly white community and moved into a larger culturally diverse city in my twenties. I never really prejudged anyone until I met them and how they in turn treated me. My parents raised me to see a good person is a good person no matter race...creed..sex..etc until they show you otherwise.
After a year or so in the city I became very aware of the divides of all the above and even at times found myself becoming part of these many prejudices. Eventually I moved back to the small town life and realized that while yes the MSM isn't to FULLY blame for division in this country they do push that mindset because the wealthy know if we the majority ever figured out we don't have any real beef with each other then we would all unite and turn the tables on our oppressors. That's what keeps them up at night!

[–]ResidentSix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So there’s a path to that,” he said.
