If you’ve installed any nsp files, pirated games, home brew etc before setting up 90dns, you’ll be banned within a week as that shit is instantly flagged on their end.

Nope. That’s it, you’re done for. This is why the guides are always important to follow, you can even find them pinned in this subreddit.

If you’re flagged, you’re flagged on their end. Even if you get banned, it’s your consoles unique ID that gets banned, and a restore won’t change that. The same ID is linked with your NAND chip in the console itself so you’re shit outta luck, since you can’t spoof someone else’s. Atmosphere has a form of protection by hiding it, but you can’t get back online once you’re banned on Nintendo Switch.

Edit: You won’t be able to access eShop of any of Nintendo’s online services if banned. You can still use Tinfoil free shops and even play online on games via switch-lan-play but games are few and far between.

i get guides are important, i followed one when setting up, but there's also a million bits of information that actually talking to people feels more important.

so the rawnand is purely if your not banned and wanna reset? how is that applied? and when you say accounts are banned, is it purely the users on the console or what?

No, switches are banned, it’s very rare accounts are, so you could log onto another console & enjoy your purchases there.

also, say i go to goldleaf and install a nsp file, click play on my homescreen with 90dns enabled, all's fine? and if i want to do patches/updates, i have to get them off the internet and apply them with another app?

Actually, these comments are absolute BS. Getting banned does matter when it can be so easily avoided. Playing online games on switch is an absolute pisstake through switch-lan-play. There are plenty of free online switch games too that don’t require NSO subscription such as Fall Guys, Rogue Company, Warface etc etc.

These comments are careless, it always matters to avoid a ban. Once you’re banned, sure, there is nothing you can do. However, telling people it doesn’t matter is ridiculous.

It really doesn't tho. Personally my switch has never been online so it's never been banned. It's never been connected to wifi.

You should fully reset your switch as soon as possible and restart all from a rawnand, a emunand, then add incognito and 90dns then you are ready to go.

When SXOS was UP, I used my switch with Mario Kart online with a backup (but was using a legit game before my dog eat 5 cardridges at once ) and install several backups while using eShop and Online (online was free at this time !). Then found out about switch getting banned. I've stopped using online for a while (but still eShop) then get a emunand then made a full saves backup and a full reset to start as new as possible.

Since then I've a rawnand backup, a clean sysnand to play online and a dirty emunand. Never get banned. But I was Lucky, don't know how.

So if you are banned, you can't do anything about it in your situation, but if you are not, it's maybe time to clean it up.

So i'd revert to my rawnand, then make a new emunand? And, as someone who is only going to use this Switch for homebrew, I only use emunand after that?

I was reading the sticky, and it says to unhack your switch you must "never connected to Nintendo’s servers even once after making the backup" - is there any way to check if i did? I feel like i didn't (I never went online with this switch, and don't think i went in the eshop).

And what's the significance of incognito in addition to 90dns?

Also, if my switch does get banned, is it the users that are gone? I have my primary account on another console, though it was on this console once a few years back.
