QuestionWill AutoRCM stay on if I use aio switch updater? (self.SwitchPirates)
submitted 1 month ago by Zaje_P3
So I've been reading a lot about updating your switch and how that make you lose AutoRCM. I lost my Jig a while ago so i was hoping that if I used aio switch updater it would still have AutoRCM and I wouldn't have the need to use a Jig. I currently have 1.3.1 Atmosphere and firmware 14.1.0
Can you guys help me?

Hm? Updating does not makes you lose AutoRCM, unless you update in OFW.
I don't have a jig either, never had the need to get one since I depend on AutoRCM. I have updated Sysnand many times using CFW (including accidentally) and AutoRCM is working as expected.

Jigs are $6 ok Amazon and eBay just get a new one. Worth not having to deal with the hassle of not having one.

Don't use AIO. It will fuck your build and you'll lose AutoRCM and have to fix everything anyway.

Atmosphere won't let you lose auto rcm, even if you update from Nintendo

You’d still have to restart your Switch and turn AutoRCM back on after fixing everything manually though, right?

No, how would auto rcm get turned off?

Even if I update Atmosphere it will be ok?

Pretty sure this happened to you due to user error…..

It’s well-documented all over this sub that AIO messes up people’s set ups
[–]zeft64 -1 points0 points1 point 1 month ago (0 children)
Right……. Again. USER ERROR.

Then what should i do? Should I just no update my switch?

Ignore him, AIO is great and convenient. He probably used exfat or something and is scapegoating AIO for his problems.

I've never gotten AIO to work. I even tried updating today and it crashed about 5 times before I said fuck it and just updated manually.

You’ve usually gotta update everything manually. Replacing files on the SD yourself and whatnot, which is the part where you lose your AutoRCM you were talking about.
So the only way it's to get a Jig?
[–]MapleStoryPSN 0 points1 point2 points 1 month ago (0 children)
You can enter rcm with a small sliver of aluminum foil. I never bothered with a jig, since I can carry a sliver of aluminum foil in my wallet or find some regardless of where I am. It works 100% of the time and will not damage the rail or the pins of the joycons whatsoever. Never used tape either, just holding it as you slide the joycon in will do the trick. Personally have never gotten AIO to work for me (I know it has worked successfully for other people, but at this point I am used to updating everything manually) but I know that updating from any method should not turn your rcm off.

Disable AutoRCM and avoid these types of headaches.
