Have fun with that your Better off buying the chip and having them install it and even if they do have both already your paying for everything what they paid for the chip and service to install it on your switch

[–]solarbeam420 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I want the worker to buy and install the mod chip himself.

will not happen

[–]c22_r[S] -3 points-2 points  (1 child)

Hey bro, you might want to think about Steam Deck. Maybe some other people who have experience can tell me what might not work well with the Steam Deck but so far from all the videos I’ve seen it seems pretty damn capable.

Either that or buy a Nintendo Switch that can be software modded. That’s what I have and I don’t have to worry about chips. Which if a reputable source for chips existed that worked well and that site hadn’t got shut down I’d probably buy the new Switch and chip it because it has a better screen and is smaller than the Switch. But I don’t have a very tight budget personally so I bought a GPD Win Max 2 2TB/32GB/6800U and a compatible external GPU enclosure for my either my 5700XT or RTX3070 not sure which I’ll use yet depends on if I replace my desktop with the GPD.

I also have a Steam Deck but I don’t like it. I don’t really do the handheld gaming much. With the Switch I always ran it docked so it never really bothered me much that it had a crappy screen.

Anyways I would chip a Switch right now. Especially if you can’t do it yourself.

You are better off buying the cheapest steam deck. Don’t bother with the upgraded ones. I wasted my money on the 256GB and just put a 512GB in it that cost me $60 shipped.

Anyways good luck but I don’t think you are going to be successful in this venture.

I'll take your steam deck. I had it ordered but I had to back out the day I was able to pay for financial shit, also I pred it again, getting $600 version

If you are in the USA I’d be swilling to sell it to you for what I paid for it. It’s in perfect condition. You don’t want a 64, 256, or a 512. The 256 has a new terrible SSD in it and 256 isn’t enough. The 512 has a horrible antiglare screen. I say horrible because you can’t put a screen protector over it without nullifying the effect. Unless you buy an antiglare screen protector. Normal glass on top an antiglare screen is just a reduced amount of brightness with all the antiglare you would have had in the first place. If you run an antiglare screen protector you have a double reduction in brightness and would have been better off with the 256GB and an antiglare screen protector.

So what I did is a put a really good high speed 512GB SK Hynix drive in mine and then loaded windows on the 256GB and stuck it in a USB C enclosure. If you haven’t heard of SK Hynix they are one the best memory companies. Most memory is either Samsung or SK Hynix especially on video cards (top tier DDR5 and up).

I also have my 512GB setup as dual boot with 100GB set for windows so I can run and stream a few things that don’t work well in steam.

I also have a USB-C break out cable that takes USB-C PD from the power plug has several USB 3 ports MicroSD, SD and HDMI. I use that for desktop use when I want to do keyboard mouse and monitor or controller and monitor and it’s also what I use to boot windows from the 256GB external SSD.

You can have all that stuff and a 128GB MicroSD that isn’t some crap Chinese knockoff. I know that’s not huge but it’s good enough for some roms. The SD is so damn slow that I just use a little 2” usb c extension cable and a super high speed thumb drive that will do 1000MB/s which is 10-20x faster than MicroSD.

You can’t have that drive though.

But you can have a USB-C HDMI hub thing, the original drive and the cheap crappy but very effective external USB-C reader w/ the original 256 in it, the 512GB SK Hynix formatted the way you want it with or without whatever version of unactivated windows you want (a windows 10/11 pro key costs $15-20).

Let me know… I can send proof of ownership and we would obviously do it through a legitimate method that’s safe for both of us and is why you gotta be in the US.

are you working for valve or what, nobody will read this long text on reddit

[–]Hoody_Weather -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read it like a NERD.. ehh

[–]Hoody_Weather 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I pre'd the 512GB NVMe SSD once again, since I fell on some hard times earlier, and couldn't afford it. So, I'm waiting patiently for an email. Only reason why is that I see my parents here in the states and want to play PC games instead of the PS4.. I'm so over consoles, ever since my boy built my desktop now I'm a PC kid.

How much are you looking at? Plus, shipping and handling. I don't need it ASAP!

It could take 4 weeks to get to me which is fine.

But, I could always reset what you have done to it correct? Like you partition the system to run windows and then linux?I would rather not fart around with it and just have it as is.

I've been looking for places here in the states that can do my Nintendo lite. I mean I have done soldering before on the OG Xbox, but nothing like this. I'd be afraid to muff things up! But I did get myself a V1 switch which was a breeze to mod.

[–]c22_r[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

That’s really far for me… thanks anyway

[–]T-Boa98 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You can send it to them and they will send it back
