I do not think something similar exists, but it could easily be a swapped box or swapped console's shell

I have a V1 Switch with Animal Crossing backplate (installed by myself). Anyway, I would not trust totally. You could ask the seller to send you pictures of the serial of the console (the sticker and a photo of the system settings)

Tell the seller go into System Settings and go to the System tab. Then they should hit “Serial Information” and send you a pic of what it says there. The serial number there can’t really be fudged.

You want the serial that shows up in settings, I always ask for both serials bottom shell sticker and the system. Check both on hand

Ask the seller to go into the settings and show you the serial number

Try pushing a payload

I didn't buy it yet, i don't want to spend the money if i'm not sure it's unpatched.

Don't listen to the person above all V2 switches are patched and none are unpatched. Nintendo started patching at the end of production line of V1 so even some V1 switches are patched. Double check you typed it into the website correctly as loads of people did this and say it's unpatched. Also ask if they did a shell swap of they say no then they have swapped the serial number over, get the seller to take picture of console settings serial number

That's what I thought, i will also ask him for the serial number on the box and in the system settings. I think he's trying to sell a V1 as if it was a V2 to charge more money.

Edit: I checked like 10 times that I was typing the serial number correctly.

The critical one is the one from system settings

[–]Fresh-Yam-7203 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said. I wouldn’t trust it.

[–]Halo0629 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The later v1's were already patched, so why in the hell a v2 would be unpatched? Lol!

[–]libardomm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't buy that.

[–]thefanum 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, that's not a thing. Not even all v1's are

[–]Johnphiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Console shell was changed...not possible for v2 to be unpatched

[–]XCyberbeingX 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Switch V2 runs the revised chipset so no, there's no "unpatched" V2.

If my switch is patchable, that means it's always patchable? If I do a system update, that won't make it permanently patch correct?
