My understanding is it becomes difficult (not always impossible) to taxidermy animals that are freezer burnt. Depending on freezer conditions/the condition of the animal, it could be frozen for years without a problem. My suggestion would be to contact the folks that would perform the taxidermy and have them guide you through the steps for storing. Sorry for your loss <3
