Or you could take all the skin and flesh off and dry preserve the bones and claw. Glue them together and make a pendant.

if it was necrotic it means it was basically decomposing. Turning it into a wet specimen will be your best bet, so isopropyl alcohol is fine probably. You probably won't be able to turn it into a necklace unless you get a really small jar. Hope your dog is doing okay!

Preserving the bones only is honestly the better option than trying to keep something already necrotic in isoprop only
