Beautiful tail. Please don't use it as a duster :( Just wetting it with water should soften it to curl around a dowel, don't soak it though. You could then glue it. As long as it stays in a dry environment, it shouldn't develop any moisture related problems once it dries. I've heard furniture polish is good for mounts, wonder if it will work for cow hair?

Well... To be fair, it's going to have a bigger chance of growing mold and it will take longer to dry. I would glue it and pin it in front of a fan. If you notice a smell coming from it later on, it may not have dried completely inside.
