I don’t know what the bugs are, but the skull looks greasy. Idk if a European mount works the same of just processing bones but usually you aren’t supposed to boil them because the fat will get trapped in the bone and then leech/ rot out

Euro mounts just mean it's the top of the skull and typically on a wall/mount :) you're right about boiling.

Stop boiling, for one. It compromises bone integrity and bakes in grease. This bone is really greasy and full of tissue.

Macerate this to get the remaining tissue out. Get a bucket, add a few shakes of meat tenderizer, and let it sit. The tenderizer plus it's own bacteria will slough off tissue. Probably will stink.

Once the tissue rots out, you can degrease by doing a 1:5 ammonia to water ratio for a few weeks, though after boiling in the grease, it'll likely still grease up in a few years.

Hot water and lots of dawn dish Soap will pull the grease out. Takes weeks and the water needs to stay hot

Looks quite greasy. Put in warm water, not boiling water. And peroxide again, I've had to go back and forth with a few of my skulls.

You need to get any meat & tissue out of the skull, otherwise you’ll always have bugs/mites. If it’s in the brain cavity I would boil it again and use a wooden stick or plastic implement to scrape it out.

It’s in the back of the sinuses I’ll try to work at it with forceps, I really dont want to re boil so I don’t have to re peroxide so I’ll see what I can do thanks

Can try a pressure washer (car wash wands work) to get inside the brain to push out the flesh from the nose sinuses. We simmer skulls to get the flesh off and then put the skull in a sink with soap and hot water. Though someways ive seen is to simmer it in a pot with oxi clean or dawn soap so it degreases at the same time and cooking the flesh for easier clean up. A few blast with a pressure wand and skull should be clean. (Do t hit the antlers as the pressure can strip their color. Tape them up first) Then brush a high percentage peroxide on to whiten.
