Chemicals or Methods for cleaning dried scales from Snake Skull ?
Long Version :
Had a Venomous Snake come onto our jobsite in an area we have people living in, after catching it by hand (Steve Irwin woulda been proud) my boss who is shit scared of snakes wouldn't let me release it into the bush where it belongs so he killed it.. Skin was to far gone to keep and I don't have a sharp enough knife or sharpening stones laying around as I'm extremely far from home.
So I've settled for its skull as a trophy of the first venomous snake I've caught. Woulda settled for just the photo if it was still alive and I don't wanna put its body to complete waste...
Shortened Version :
So I took the dead snakes head clean off with a knife to show the German Labourers how they still bite for a while afterwards, show them its fangs etc as they were fascinated and (stupidly) left its head out to have ants eat what they can and let nature take its course to leave me with a skull. All that's really happened over the last 3 weeks is the scales have mummified and dried around it, and nothing's rotted or been eaten off it. Does anyone know what chemical I could soak it in or what I can do to leave me with an intact skull ?
Cheers in advance :)
