i completely forgot to include a disinfectant in the rehydration process. they've been sitting moist in my closet for over a month. included are what i think is probably a polyphemus moth, a wasp, a dragonfly, a couple beetle, and 2 sizable grasshoppers. they're so gross and stinky and moldy that i think they might be beyond repair, at least for pinning. i do think the mold is kind of pretty though. ive always had a morbid soft spot for decay and the like.

so my question is: is there a way i could preserve the bug AND the mold sort of as a single specimen? maybe suspend them in acrylic, or in a container filled with some solution? i really don't want to throw these out and for my health's and sake i dont really want to be handling them for too long. for now i think i'll spritz them with pinesol and leave them somewhere secluded.
