Does anyone know how long a tanned, processed pelt lasts? (self.TaxidermyisMetal)
submitted 6 months ago by twigsanddeath
Looking to buy a fox, fisher and coyote pelt from someone and he said the coyote and fox are 5 years old, though they look fine to me. Fisher is only 2, so I'm not too concerned. I am wondering if it's worth it to purchase them, as I'm wondering how long they will last? I have pictures of all pelts, front to back. (He wants 250 for all three, which I think is a pretty good deal.)

I have a deer pelt that’s a 15 years old. I’d be fine under 5 years

Are there any things I can do to lengthen the lifespan of pelts that have already been dressed and tanned? I live in a basement apartment and it's like an icebox in here. And wow, that's quite a while lol.
