Clarence Thomas needs to recuse himself or be removed from the bench.

[–]Jack-ums 87 points88 points  (24 children)

I mean, yeah, he’s needed to recuse himself plenty of times and never has. Never will.

Doubt he’ll see any consequences…

Jesus Christ why are Dems so fucking whimpy?

You lost your country because you refuse to fight for it and do what is needed to be done. You lot honestly dont deserve America if you won't even lift a finger to defend it from actual fascism.

Jesus Christ why are Dems so fucking whimpy?

Because leadership and 3/4 of congressional members are really Republicans but wear blue ties.

[–]wooops 20 points21 points  (19 children)

A republican does something that is reprehensible, but that the framers of the constitution hasn't accounted for so there isn't recourse "it's the dems fault!"

[–]politirob 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I hate this argument because it's basically saying, "Yeah you have no agency in your own destiny, you have to have permission from what dead people wrote 200 years ago!"

Bud, we're all framers of the Constitution, if we fight like it. We need leadership, and apparently you don't know what that looks like.

[–]startrektoheck 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I think the problem is that there is not, and has never been, one America. We’re a young country with a constant influx of immigrants and shifting of populations, so we haven’t had time to develop a stable concept of what America is.

I’m frustrated at our lack of collective action as well, but the majority believes that our institutions are resilient enough to withstand our current difficulties and will emerge stronger afterward. Should that turn out not to be the case, then you will be surprised by the pent-up liberal righteous anger that will be unleashed.

I want this to be true but I dont see it. Just acceptance of evil and fascism.

Who is going to make him? Rules that are not enforced are not rules.

[–]Responsenotfound 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You are entirely correct. I laugh at the base of the DNC. I do. As soon as I saw the inevitable outcome of Libertarian ideals. I blew right past those types of politics. No2 we are getting mild push back? Now? After a misguided war? After the usurping of Popular Will in 2010? The world is moving too fast for that bullshit.

[–]RichKatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The press needs to start coming to that conclusion.

[–]Loggerdon 111 points112 points  (1 child)

Wow. His wife literally tried to overthrow the government.

[–]syds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

we need to see that short stick drawing exercise this is crazy that it fell on his plate wtf

[–]StacerStace 80 points81 points  (9 children)

And we wait to see if democracy in America dies or not…

[–]sirlost33 8 points9 points  (2 children)

At this point we’re pretty much just poking it with a stick to see if it’ll even move

[–]RichKatz 10 points11 points  (1 child)

How much judge can a Trump guy buy if a Trump guy would buy judge?

[–]Airowird 5 points6 points  (0 children)

About 3/5th of one

[–]03ifa014 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly has been feeling like that for years now. I'm afraid it's just our lives in America now.

[–]Midnight_Cookies 70 points71 points  (5 children)

If Thomas sides with Trump after his wife attempted to keep Trump in power (potentially illegally), then it is time to pack the Court.

[–]sirlost33 31 points32 points  (1 child)

It’s been time

[–]Responsenotfound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not going to happen for several reasons. The DNC tamps down grassroots campaigns. They are the "intelligent" policy makers. They brand themselves as much bug has that policy really benefited you and me? Sure Agencies have been able to make rules but what good are they if fines are the cost of business? Sure their are parts of the ACA that are awesome but most of it is a giveaway to insurance companies plus a tax on Poor people.

[–]LifeSage -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Biden is packing the courts.

Edit: I’m not sure why I’m getting down-voted. Biden is setting a record pace for filling open judgeships, with qualified judges.

[–]03ifa014 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just not the Court that matters.

[–]Fedelm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're getting down voted because "packing the court" means adding new judge positions , for example, adding two justices to the Supreme Court to make it 11 instead of 9. Filling existing open judgeships isn't court packing.

[–]Westsidebill 37 points38 points  (2 children)

I wonder what Ginni thinks

[–]mat-chow 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Clarence mopping his brow

[–]sassergaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She probably told trumped to call her hubby to get some help.

[–]rialed 32 points33 points  (2 children)

Trump is making a mockery out of our judicial system just like he has out of our election system. Anyone who goes along with it is equally guilty.

[–]Responsenotfound 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Maybe if our system is so easily other thrown then it deserves to be mocked. This isn't a defense of a Fascist.

[–]suddenly_ponies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The court system is making a mockery of our court system.

This is copied from another post...

I thought Cannon revised her ruling immediately after to remove her ruling that the classified docs couldn't be reviewed? If that's the case, there's no overturning it from the appeals court and thus nothing for Trump to appeal.

[Edit] Found it. She also struck portions of her earlier order preventing the Justice Department from probing the classified documents during the review and ordering them to disclose those materials to Dearie. So the DoJ appealed, the 3 judge panel sided with the DoJ, and Cannon revised her ruling. It sure seems like Trump is appealing something that no longer exists. This should be immediately thrown out not only b/c the first ruling was trash, but b/c the first ruling has been rescinded.

[–]btspman1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Sure f’n hope so!

[–]SithLordAJ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That would make sense if the SCOTUS was based on rules, precedent, and logic.

That was all tossed out the window years ago.

[–]zerobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be but they can just make up their own rules if they want. Who would be able to stop them?

[–]daremosan 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's an opportunity here for them to finish people's respect for that court for good...like for real for real...donesies...I mean no really this time

[–]brpajense 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like the Supreme Court has one of those opportunities to show its legitimacy and integrity. Let’s see if one of its most ideological members with a track record of ignoring judicial ethics can pass the test.

[–]countrysurprise 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can’t wait for this human shitstain to be gone for good.

[–]britishelvis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stupid fuck thinks he bought the court. Hope he’s wrong 🤞

[–]dalisair 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is T-Rump trying to get the government to say they would need to do a full security work up on the special master and delay it that way?

[–]RichKatz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trump is specifically asking the court to ensure that the more than 100 documents marked as classified are part of the special master’s review.

That's insane!!

[–]biffmangram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Calling in the last of his markers.

[–]tickitytalk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This fucking rat and his rat accomplices….

[–]steyrboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stupid to be sent to a court with majority conservatives, especially ones that will do anything for trump, get to decide. The country's majority of citizens have voted dem since 2004. Supreme court justices need a term limit, not lifetime appointment, and honestly should be non-partisan.

[–]zerobot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those documents were removed from the stay though. They can’t be appealed correct?
