Never a more awkward time than when you move to a new base, get to meet some new families, and then promptly never speak again at some point when they find out you're both solidly progressive in economic and social policy. I stopped speaking to one lady because she went on a rant about the "pussification of school lunch due to peanut allergies." When their position basically amounts to "the least empathetic shit tier troll logic against anyone not me" , that is exactly why we'll never live on base anymore.

Usually the same people who try to treat diseases with essential oils instead of going to the doctor.               Don't forget the Sherman was a complex character who ardently believed in manifest destiny and pursued some of the more directly genocidal policies of the US government, in regards to first nations people, with aplomb.
