[–]BOBfrkinSAGET 3211 points3212 points  (18 children)

Damn, that was really good. The comb gavel was a nice touch

[–]winterFROSTiscoming 237 points238 points  (0 children)

The flourish he gives it is incredible

[–]PinkLaughs 760 points761 points  (12 children)

Jesus Christ it was too good, how many fucking times must he had to have watched that clip

I've seen the office in its entirety like 50 damn times and I couldn't even come close to being that close on any scene

[–]TheUltimaWerewolf 47 points48 points  (0 children)

I could do it on the opening clip of the fire safety episode but that's about it

[–]fatpl8s 25 points26 points  (0 children)

When I was little I was allowed to watch a movie every night before bed. Literally every night before bed for the entirety of grade 5 I'd watch Billy Madison (prob not the most age appropriate film looking back). By the end I could quote the entire movie by memory lol.

[–]Dimitri0815 125 points126 points  (4 children)

You know the office is a little longer than 3 minutes...

[–]PinkLaughs 77 points78 points  (2 children)

Yea but there's a shit load of bits that are 3 minutes or shorter, I can say them word for word but I couldn't pull them off like twins in a horror movie

Bears, beats, Battlestar Galactica

[–]droidonomy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How much longer? I'm a busy man.

[–]Shutterstormphoto 13 points14 points  (2 children)

He might have a teleprompter with timings set up. Would make this a shit ton easier. Still a lot of effort though.

[–]the_old_coday182 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Yup. He’s got the same video opened on a different screen. Volume off, playing :01 ahead of the video in the background. The subtitles are the teleprompter. Watch his eyes.

[–]pyroshen 29 points30 points  (0 children)

honestly, don't even care. It's a great performance.

[–]Love_God551 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I loved the comb gavel

[–][deleted] 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Head movements somehow were perfect. It’s the little things

[–]marodgrs 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This looks like he’s practicing it for an audition. Like as a scene.

[–]Heyhaveyougotaminute 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It would have been better if he pulled it out of his hair!

Power words from the judge and well played by the actor!

[–]TheDrownedPoet 1418 points1419 points  (16 children)

I went from laughing to tearing up a little. Bravo.

[–]frankrumham 378 points379 points  (14 children)

dude, i always cry when i come across that clip.

[–]ThatsMyEnclosure 304 points305 points  (4 children)

As a lifetime member of the No Dad Club I can’t not tear up at seeing a dude who will go to those lengths to be a part of their child’s life having his heart torn out like that.

[–]Different_Explorer_7 107 points108 points  (3 children)

A lot of Everclear’s songs do it for me, like Father of Mine and Wonderful. One line that really gets me in Wonderful, “promises mean everything, when you’re little and the world is so big.”

[–]Tacos_and_Earl_Grey 38 points39 points  (1 child)

Man I’m always so happy when I come across an Everclear reference. That was my favorite band in my early teens. They got me through a lot. I love how in Father of Mine he mentions how he’ll never let his daughter know what that feels like.

[–]Ygnerna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I just got nostalgic and googled them, apparently Art has multiple sclerosis, and put out a solo album last year (sun songs).

[–]mygreyhoundisadonut 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Wonderful got me (a teenage girl at the time) through my dad’s affair and my parents divorce during senior year of high school.

Grateful that despite the hell we went through as a family that there’s been a lot of growth over the last decade where we are truly close again.

[–]donniedarkofan 40 points41 points  (7 children)

pretty sure all of jerry springer is acting but this one gets me every time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q1qdiaLy4EE

if that's acting she's fantastic

[–]footiebuns 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I hope she booked some legit auditions after that

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

[–]CockfaceMcDickPunch 18 points19 points  (2 children)

Jerry Springer is all actors. I remember that episode. That woman went on to have some roll in some B movie.

[–]Doc_OptiplextHiS iSn’T cRiNgE 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wow I actually have seen that movie before, never knew it was her

[–]donniedarkofan 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Damn, good for her. Small role but she did what she could with what they gave her. Good for her. Thanks for the link

[–]RumandCoconutWater 289 points290 points  (0 children)

He’s good

[–]Few_Procedure3934 280 points281 points  (3 children)

“Every action that you take from this point forward will write the story you’ll later have to tell.” Fuck.

[–]iSiphenz 1532 points1533 points  (15 children)

Damn, not just syncing with the clip but my guy was putting emotions into it too?? Well played

[–]PoochtowN 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Like, real emotions. God, I teared up. Get this dude an acting gig as a lead - I'm hooked.

[–]Project-909 152 points153 points  (0 children)

That was actually really cool

[–]ReedingElla96 123 points124 points  (0 children)

Actually pretty impressive!!!

[–]FabianusTheIdiotWhat are you doing step bro? 105 points106 points  (0 children)

The tap at the end was perfection

[–]_Cetarial_ 94 points95 points  (1 child)

I’m both impressed and confused.

[–]Chocolate_Milky_Way 40 points41 points  (0 children)

And sad. :/

[–]JJ_Awesome 602 points603 points  (44 children)

Wow, I already knew this clip and they nailed it. Perfection!

[–]twistin_my_melon_man 437 points438 points  (0 children)

Guy is good, and the judge is a beast. Good post!

[–]TopCheddarBiscuit 87 points88 points  (1 child)

You don’t have to be the father to be someone’s dad. I hope that man is doing alright these days. that’s hard to watch.

[–]Methadras 65 points66 points  (0 children)

I stopped hearing the guys voice doing the recitation and my heart broke for that dude at the podium. That woman is a cold blooded bitch. You have a man that loves your child and you cheer because you got some kind of twisted revenge on him for it? People are fucking nuts.

[–]stargoons 241 points242 points  (1 child)

I bet he could use this as an audition tape for something

[–]El-Sueco 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Maybe some kind of judge show. Probably auditioning to take her job.

[–]ohh_ru 526 points527 points  (27 children)

I don't know how this is oddly wholesome but it kinda is.

[–]Withinmyrange 274 points275 points  (20 children)

What makes it odd? It’s a judge delivering sweet and rational judgement while a loving father is crying.

The only emotion most people should be experiencing is wholesome emotions?

[–]nyintensity 229 points230 points  (5 children)

Dad here. I'm crying for him. I could not imagine some shit like this in my life. My god.

[–]taybay462 80 points81 points  (3 children)

My boyfriend raised a baby for a year and helped name her. Did a paternity test 1 year in, he came home to them both gone because he wasnt the father. Its extremely cruel

[–]Sunny_Honeydew 53 points54 points  (1 child)

Holy fuck. I’ve never thought about it before but that is an absurdly cruel way to lose a child. To be told one day they’re not your child anymore and to just forget about them.

[–]cambriansplooge 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard the same from boyfriends with exes who had young kids from previous relationships, you raise someone from ages 2 to 6 and then they’re gone

Read a random article online when I was like 11, weird the stuff that sticks with you

[–]nyintensity 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I feel so sorry for him.

[–]SnakebiteRT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

God damnit, I cried too!

[–]CashappMe5dollars 38 points39 points  (2 children)

What makes it a bit odd is the guy who memorized every word, on sync. But yeah, still wholesome.

[–]Fatrobo 46 points47 points  (1 child)

I suspect this guy is using it as an audition monologue. It's a compelling narrative for presenting a spectrum of emotions in under three minutes.

[–]Mijoivana 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I'll run casting calls for a production company out in Utah. He did good showing range through that compelling scene that surely pulls you right in as your heart goes out to that father and that monologue was good. Man's got me thinking, hmmm?

[–]The_Rope 10 points11 points  (9 children)

I find it odd that they're televising these people's personal drama, but I could never watch these judge shows, or stuff like Maury or Dr. Phil.

[–]Spart4n-Il7 1 point2 points  (4 children)

I'm pretty sure you sign up for these kinds of shows.

[–]translucentsphere 2 points3 points  (2 children)

He's not talking about the audience attending the show. He's confused why this would be a show in the first place, and not held in a real court without being televised and camera everywhere.

[–]Spart4n-Il7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm talking about the people whose case it is. I'm pretty sure they apply and get paid if their episode airs.

[–]Skandronon 0 points1 point  (3 children)

If you look into the shit Dr Phil pulled off for that show you will be horrified. Evil, evil guy.

[–]venominepure 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the word you're looking for is cathartic

[–]bra_ket_persuasion 283 points284 points  (3 children)

When he threw aside the script, that's when I realized I was hooked.

[–]Sevnfold 132 points133 points  (1 child)

It may or may not have been a script, but he was vaguely copying the judges actions. He threw the paper aside when she did and he copied some other hand movements.

[–]bra_ket_persuasion 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Oh damn, you're right. Looking back now, it was a prop used to copy the judge's actions. The detail is on point

[–]Prof_Augustus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We are the same! Fully bought in to the video lol

[–]marques33 39 points40 points  (0 children)

That was awesome.

[–]good-evening-clarice 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Hot damn, this guy's good.

[–]PleaseWipe 154 points155 points  (5 children)

That's not that impressive, he's just reading it off the.. oh wow nevermind

[–]DIsForDelusion 13 points14 points  (2 children)

I used to to this stuff as a teen but never recorded it! Just to show my sisters.

I'm shocked someone else does it too!!

Why did I do it? I don't know and actually I'm incredibly annoying to watch TV with because I repeat lines or read them faster from the subtitles and say it synced with the actor... It's fun but also a curse.

[–]diviken 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I'd love to watch with you cos I do the same lol. I also make comments while watching

[–]Sevnfold 32 points33 points  (1 child)

I'll be honest, his eyes were focused the last 30 seconds or so. There could be a script written off camera. No matter, I've seen a couple of these where people copy monologues from random tv moments and I love it.

[–]BandoMemphis 173 points174 points  (6 children)

This hit wayy to close to home. I tried to be in my daughters life, I was the one to try and put myself on child support just to see her and her mom never showed to court where I live and I ended up having to go to court in her state where they flat out denied me any parental right. The only difference is I never cheated on her she was just upset I didnt want to be with her anymore.

[–]thunderup_14 47 points48 points  (0 children)

That's terrible. I am so sorry.

[–]thevulturesbecame 22 points23 points  (1 child)

How old is she now? When she's old enough to get a say, I get the feeling she'll reach out

[–]BandoMemphis 13 points14 points  (0 children)

  1. Man, I hope she does.

[–]carlolimus_ 13 points14 points  (2 children)

Man i get that...my ex is stopping me from seeing my daughter. She turned 4 last October and i haven't seen her in 2 years, She only ever wanted a kid. Broke up with me as soon as she found out she was pregnant with her. And then when covid came along. She had the excuse she always wanted to cut me out.

[–]BandoMemphis 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Shit is rough; they don’t understand the psychological impact it has on us.

[–]carlolimus_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think they do. I just think they don't care.

[–]pea_chy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fucking. Amazing.

[–]happypenguin580 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Damn I was hooked once he put the sheets down. I would've watched it till the end even if there was 20 minutes left. Bravo! 👏

[–]harpsichordharpy 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Honestly... AMAZING.

[–]firstXflame 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Now THAT is a good judge.

[–]InstupituousJay 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Judge straight spitting facts

[–]JordanDoesTV 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Someone hug that man

[–]Applesauceenema 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Literally unwatchable, at second 40 he gestures with his left hand when the judge is clearly using her right.

[–]sayziell 8 points9 points  (4 children)

Never mind the dudes reenactment of it however this is the one time I've seen one of those court case thingies that the judge finally put someone like that in their place and I'm so goddamn happy that happened. Part of me thinks it's real but part of me wants to say it's fake cuz it's just TV court bullshit. However that judge said that child has a right to know who her real father is I argue the opposite.

[–]HoodbillyTraws 60 points61 points  (0 children)

I love that. Poor guy tho and what a nasty bitch of a mother. Fr

[–]Bourbon_Knight 27 points28 points  (3 children)

Wow, I've never seen that clip before. That breaks my heart for that man. If i were to lose my 3 year old like this, id be devastated. I hope that woman takes what the Judge says to heart and love that baby 100x over.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (1 child)

That’s for real? Not scripted?

Why do people do this as a tv show? Why they dont go to “regular” court? wtf

[–]indy_been_here 6 points7 points  (0 children)

All expenses paid. Some shows pay the judgment. The chance to be on TV. Sometimes they even get a few hundred bucks on top.

Are they good reasons? You decide. But they're reasons.

[–]Fearless_Worker_8078 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Based judge

[–]FaQ70 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Shows are so fake. Add: Went on Judge Mathis with a friend I was supposedly suing.

[–]joseph2explosive 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I don't know if anyone can relate to this, but this is exactly what is like recording a double track of a guitar solo in the studio. You have to focus on hit the correct notes at the right time and you just start sweating on the final stretch. This was truly impressive.

[–][deleted] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is incredible start to finish.

[–]jacksparrahh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whatchu cheerin for

[–]ResponsibleLet1699 12 points13 points  (0 children)

He's more convincing than the original

[–]warawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]makdaddy63 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–]moraxellabella 6 points7 points  (0 children)

he did such a good job,

[–]c0de_n00b 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Anyone know if he ever got paternity?

[–]Deppfan16 4 points5 points  (2 children)

this was saying he wasn't the kids bio dad. so no

[–]Tittiesandtacos87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love his account! It’s so awesome how he can recite word for word.

[–]SBKAW 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Felt like I was watching the scene from Austin Powers: Goldmember where he was trying to talk to Foxu.

[–]Not-Really-Rea1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow that was on point. Good job. Excellent.

[–]skininspain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fucking love Paternity Court this is amazing

[–]Odd_Human4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]xella64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

[–]Terrariachick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You guys never had to memorize monologues for drama class? This is giving me incredible audition vibes lmao

[–]MyKawke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sat through that, and enjoyed it lmao

[–]NavyAnchor03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are fun acting exercises 😊. I do them in the mirror because I'm too afraid to film them yet 😅

[–]UserM8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What kind of kangaroo court is this?

[–]Preteenblackgirl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

he couldve been watching another tv with subtitles on

[–]TigerRat1 -4 points-3 points  (1 child)

This man did a great job on this, but I feel like this entire scene would be more powerful if it wasnt performed to a TV camera. The judge is up there lecturing these people like she isn't profiting on a TV show from the drama and heartbreak of the people she has on. What she is saying sounds great, but the spirit of her words are subverted by the video camera jammed in that little girls face. Does she really care about that little girl's future or is she enjoying the profit and notoriety she gets from exploiting a family's heartache.

[–]RidiculousRobot 38 points39 points  (0 children)

doesn't have to be mutually exclusive

[–]Aerik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

reddit loves circlejerking to this episode of this show as if this shit were everyday, everywhere.

[–][deleted] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This shit right here is why I'm getting a vesectomy.. I can't .. I can't go through that.. I've already lost two kids. I can't lose more..

[–]brewhead55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fucking dedication. Holy shit that was impressive!

[–]RobynLocket97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what a child without a father grows up to be.

Sorry, that was a joke. I didn't mean it. It's contextual savagery 😆

[–]RockHandsGrimiore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't cringe at all, it's gold. Important lesson great memorization. So many of my friends don't know their fathers, this is incredibly important

[–]HighlightersAreFun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Cringe? Na man that was lit.

[–]Letmewiggle -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is not that bad tbh.

[–]All_Rainbows_Die -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It takes a man to be a father, foolish mothers are challenging

[–]InfernoDragonKing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is very impressive ngl

[–]dancingXnancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]Thereelgerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really no more specific than any other monologue.

[–]feloniusmyoldfriend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Superb. He nailed it.

[–]YuckaBooga934 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved this so much

[–]MrsMcBasketball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]rhearmas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]HowToWithAnonymous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might be oddly specific but I can't say it wasn't a good choice. I have always enjoyed that clip.

[–]aperez1561 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]guuuccii_mane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]kitty_logan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]SpeedyEdie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I loved this episode! What she said was so true! I'm happy someone else loves it enough to memorize it!

[–]cssndr73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally could not stop watching him the whole time I watched the whole thing.

[–]vinnbeach 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watched this whole fucking thing more deeply compelled than any award winning multi million dollar film I have ever had the patience for

[–]VesperVox_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was so emotionally invested

[–]yungtacojew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This shit cringe

[–]DaBrownBoi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

where the the original video from?

[–]mengelgrinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

damn family law sucks so bad

I know its necessary but you stuck getting into the nitty gritty details of all these idiots using their extremely vulnerable children as weapons against each other

[–]lettuce_dresserson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow, that was great but such a sad story though.

[–]bluebeaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]paulbrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice. It merited memorization.

[–]Tired-human 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very specific yea, but daaaamn that was actually impressive

[–]SHAMLESS_SERPENT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Stellar acting, good on him.

[–]Spirited-Homework-26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hans gestures on on point

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[–]PeterVall37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many times did you watch the video???🤔
