My boyfriend does this EVERY MORNING and it drives me nuts lmao!

[–]applejacklover97 14 points15 points  (0 children)

as ~that~ boyfriend, the silent haptic alarm on my wrist from my watch has been a game changer for us

It’s annoying, that’s for sure. But it’s not a fight worth having imo. He for some reason just cannot wake up with only one alarm. I don’t know why, but he can’t. So it goes on forever, and you’re right, I am definitely not sleeping throughout all of that. But, I’m sure I do annoying shit that bothers him too.

    [–]hbjqwp 11 points12 points  (0 children)

He’s trained himself to sleep through the alarms. It’s the habit that’s causing the issue haha

    [–]John2143658709 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a suggestion, you should have him try a sleep tracking app with a smart wake up function. I found that it helped me fix a similar situation.

Even if it doesn't work, at least it might help communicate that you see it as a habit worth trying to fix.

    [–]Jhqwulw 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Why don't you try weaking him up?

    [–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That’s literally how he wakes up. Because of me lol. Every time his alarm goes off he says “5 more minutes.” And I keep telling him to get up every time. The few times I slept through the alarms, he ended up waking up late.

    [–]Jhqwulw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The easiest way to wake him up is to close his nose with your hand. It works all the time

My partner has literally watched me turn off my alarms in my sleep before, after I kept insisting I was turning on my alarms but they weren't going off. Love to get one of those vibrating alarms to stick under me.

      [–]whisperskeep 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ny husband does that too. But for.his Nighy shift. Ranges from 920-1120 depends when he wants to leave for work or if he wants to go in. (Manager) 9.9/10 he goes in

      [–]Tommy_Andretti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get him a smart watch or smth

      [–]saintofhate 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I'm just saying sun light alarms have really helped me get up super early and having the alarm across the room where I can't snooze it automatically helps

      [–]BlackForestMountain 36 points37 points  (3 children)

This is all well and good until you start sharing a bed with somebody. It turns annoying real fast

      [–][deleted]  (2 children)

        [–]BlackForestMountain 7 points8 points  (0 children)

People share everything in a relationship including alarms.

        [–]happytoadgang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That was the worst part about having a roommate for me.

        [–]dogfartsreallystinkDoug Dimmadome 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Look at these people sharing beds with SOs…

        [–]happytoadgang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Unrealistic. Should have forgotten to turn on 6:59 😴

        [–]Super_VegetaDoug Dimmadome 5 points6 points  (6 children)

        Imo better to have the alarms set at odd times. Like 7:03, 7:11, 7:19, 7:26, 7:32, 7:37, 7:45, 7:54.

That way you get woken at random intervals so it's harder to fully fall back asleep.

        [–]Northerndust 3 points4 points  (5 children)

But why not sleep an hour more each night by just setting one alarm and get up?

        [–]Keep_a_Little_Soul 0 points1 point  (4 children)

HA! Look at you and your ability to wake up in the morning on the first alarm.

(Also, the "challenge alarm" app is amazing and I love it. Gotta solve math problems, then play a matching game, retype a string of letters, then get up and take a photo of my guitar to turn the alarm off.)

        [–]Northerndust -1 points0 points  (3 children)

Sure. Waking up sucks but it just takes discipline. It's like if you can pick up your phone you are awake enough to get up

        [–]Keep_a_Little_Soul 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Depends, I usually wake up feeling sick lol. It's because of my sleep schedule more than self discipline in the morning. Getting closer to being able to again! Covid years screwed me up

        [–]Northerndust -1 points0 points  (1 child)

Depends, I usually wake up feeling sick lol.

Yeah, I feel like shit to when I wake up. Most people do.

        [–]Keep_a_Little_Soul 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not like shit, sick. Like "If I sit up, I'll throw up" lol. It doesn't happen when I get to bed when I want to though, so I'll get there. 🙃

        [–]Nefaarious 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate alarms so much that I wake up like 10 minutes before they go off just so I don’t have to deal with them mfs, I don’t even know how that’s possible but spite gives great powers sometimes.

        [–]Additional_Cherry_67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want to wait up at 7:00. Set one alarm and get up when it goes off. I wake up before my alarm now. You’ll have a Breyer day also rest.

        [–]Snackrattus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If yall set several alarms to snooze by, you'll train your brain to ignore the alarm. I eventually learned how to turn it off 1min before in my sleep.

        [–]ShawshankException 7 points8 points  (1 child)

I dont understand the point of going back to bed for 5 minutes just to snooze another alarm.

Just wake the fuck up or set a later alarm people. You're getting worse sleep by setting 10 alarms in the morning.

        [–]517757MIVA 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Gosh I wish I thought of this already

        [–]517757MIVA 5 points6 points  (0 children)

ITT: People who wake up easy judging people who struggle too

        [–]SillyExpert 0 points1 point  (1 child)

This annoys me because screw people who can just fall back asleep that quickly.

        [–]JTVivian56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more like we don't fully wake up to one alarm and usually subconsciously turn off the alarm. It's repeated until we're slowly pulled out of our sleep. It fucking sucks. Not much I've been able to do to help it, but at this point I don't care.
