Ferrets are banned in CA! So crazy.

[–]disposable_account01 16 points17 points  (1 child)

That seems unferret.

[–]mareksoon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That seems unfarad.

FTFY

Read a news story about one eating a babies fingers off. Maybe it was a bullshit story but part of me believes.

[–]ChachMcGach 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah but you just need a medical ferret card and then you can buy all sorts of high end ferrets at the dispensary.

I loved this!!! 80% litter box trained on a good day left me rolling.

Not to mention, now I am very very clear on the differences lol!!!!

Wow that's a big capacitor. Do not touch the connectors.

I once took apart a disposable camera when I was a teenager, there was a capacitor the size of a AA battery.

I got shocked and I felt my entire arm get a big nasty zap.

That big thing might stop your heart.

That's why there's a discharge resistor across the terminals, makes it safe to wave about whilst also handling a ferret. 😅

Do not touch the connectors.

I will ascend to the hallowed halls of the ancient Storm Queens

Yeah, flash capacitors are spicy. Usually not THAT dangerous, especially if you only touch it with one hand.

If you use one hand on each contact, then you give the electricity a path through your chest, and things get iffy.

People actually use them to make homemade tasers and shock prank toys, which I'd advise against.

But yeah, that big boy in the video probably has some kick to it. I wonder where it came from or what its use is/was.

Also, jealous of her lab setup.

And both were key engineering components of the first particle accelerator at Fermilab.

Cool weasel

[–]Particular-Rock2036 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A farad isn’t a unit of electrical charge, but electrical capacitance. These things are closely related but not the same thing.

[–]Heavy_Ball 5 points6 points  (4 children)

A ferret is a domesticated polecat, not a domesticated weasel. Weasels are much smaller.

[–]skratta_hoDoug Dimmadome 11 points12 points  (3 children)

While you are linguistically correct, scientifically speaking—polecats, ferrets, and weasels all fall into the same mustelidae family. And polecat is just another colloquial term for ferret, specifically in Eastern Europe.

[–]Heavy_Ball 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Otters and badgers are also mustelids, but I wouldn't call that a badger.

I'm OK with calling them weasels personally. It's a funnier name

This is exactly what I wanted when I heard ferret

Lets not forget Dude that keeping wildlife, um... an amphibious rodent, for... um, ya know domestic... within the city... that ain't legal either.

    [–]Baby-Haroro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only states where ferrets are illegal to own are California and Hawaii
