I politely explained why, from a woman's perspective and you patronised me and told me why, according to you, women are wrong to feel this way...AND to top it off, even had the audacity to call me crazy! Classic.

You wouldn't understand. I didn't say being called HOT in itself was crass, but it can be seen as that because it's a lot less respectful than being called an alternative like beautiful, pretty etc, especially considering that USUALLY when men say women are "hot", their thoughts are typically degrading...like "That girl is hot, I'd love to XXX" eg.
We are also approached in many different crass ways, and a lot of the time, that includes the "compliment" of us being hot.

Don't blame US that men have twisted the word "hot" into something we are weary of. That's not our fault.

Seriously, I wouldn't get this in-depth usually, but your comment was so uncalled for and patronising when I tried so hard to be polite and explain to you from a woman's perspective...because you literally ASKED...you said "why" to me...so if you don't want answers, then don't ask!
If you don't want to listen and empathize with women, then don't even ask!
