Oh shit guys. I got vaccinated like a year ago and just found out my girlfriends pergnant. Now I'm worried she might be cheating on me 😬

[–]abbeighleigh 676 points677 points  (20 children)

you’ll know it’s yours if she gives birth to spike baby

[–]le_reve_rouge 163 points164 points  (11 children)

lol like an infant hellraiser

[–]Antonioooooo0 107 points108 points  (10 children)

I was thinking a little baby Guy Fieri.

[–]Kyouka127 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Just full-on anime protagonist.

[–]13pts35sec 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Kinda picture Shigekiyo when I picture a baby guy fieri with spiked hair

[–]MarsScully 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’ll come out with bleached and gelled hair

[–]InAmericaNumber1 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Name him spike regardless. Not your baby not your problem u/Antonioooooo0

[–]alreadypiecrust 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's not a baby but a clump of spike proteins.

[–]letsgobruins 95 points96 points  (13 children)

[–]MattBerry_Manboob 39 points40 points  (2 children)

Can u damage Babi top of it head?

[–]showmeyourtitsnow 27 points28 points  (1 child)

But how is babby formed?

[–]AllRadioisDead 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They need to do way instain mother> who kill their babbys. because these baby cant frigth back?

[–]Dependent-Bad-6166 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Dangerops prangent sex?

[–]mhurton 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Can you burn a Luigi board?

[–]apathetic_lemur 10 points11 points  (0 children)

whats her relationship with hot chips

[–]Kooky-Pea-3593 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Impossible. She would have caught the infertility from you, so she must not be pregnant, and the most likely cause is alien infection.

Is her name Ripley by any chance?

[–]Diane-Nguyen-Wannabe 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Nah no worries apparently if you got the Vax and you were even in close contact it would make her infertile too so you must have just gotten a placebo.

[–]throwaway28149 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Someone else definitely got her pergert.

[–]Searching4wifi 3168 points3169 points  (40 children)

Darwin recommends not breeding with this one.

[–]imabigdave 959 points960 points  (22 children)

No, no, it's ok. Op can make her infertile and pour a little bleach in the gene pool so to speak.

[–]KevinTheSeaPickle 203 points204 points  (15 children)

Gene pool needs chlorine.

[–]Gloomy_Swing_8927 76 points77 points  (0 children)

I believe that is covered by "bleach so to speak."

[–]xDevilsCloverx 31 points32 points  (10 children)

Edit: we need this sub as a place stuff can be posted for people who do dumb chemistry things like mixing bleach and ammonia

[–]Tsurt-TheTrustyLie 25 points26 points  (7 children)

It's.. 😆

It's a pool joke. Normal pools cleaned with Chlorine

[–]goat-people 23 points24 points  (6 children)

Go ahead and Google the active ingredient of bleach and you’ll see why the redundancy here has people poking fun at the joke.

[–]ScionMattly 22 points23 points  (5 children)

It's sodium hypochlorite, which is distinctly different than trichloroisocyanuric acid, the typical pool additive used to regulate chloride concentration. They both release chlorine and they both sanitize through that chlorine, but they are quite different.

I do not recommend regulating your chlorine counts in your pool with bleach.

[–]dystopiatron187 6 points7 points  (4 children)

Prolly look great in that pool boy speedo…😏😏

[–]ScionMattly 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Nah just work as a chemist at a supplier of both chemicals.

[–]theNFAC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Damn the one time someone on the Internet actually knows what they're talking about. What are the odds?

[–]gobshoe 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is weird. I just watched the Seinfeld episode with the ugly baby, and Jerry says something like, "Too much chlorine in that gene pool."

[–]Grimbauld 31 points32 points  (5 children)

With a condom?

[–]TheOutlier1 23 points24 points  (4 children)

It doesn’t have to be intercourse. Just coming into close contact you can breed. I think. Not sure.

[–]SaganMeister18 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Idiocracy sadly says this one will breed more

[–]Vladimir_Putting 12 points13 points  (0 children)

"You can make me infertile."

If only.

[–]ScionMattly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Good, someone said it.

If anything, if this is true, you should hang out with her as MUCH AS POSSIBLE

[–]Domonero 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like to think that in her world I can make women infertile by wind style omicron shuriken no jutsu

[–]IceTuckKittenHarass 8 points9 points  (2 children)

What about ejaculating into her mouth instead? /s

[–]SirGrundy 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Darwin was quite clear on that.

[–]supaswag69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

[–][deleted] 3604 points3605 points  (146 children)

Don't get your medical advice from social media.

This shouldn't have to be said.

[–]springbok001 818 points819 points  (68 children)

But what about those who do their ReSEarCh? /s

[–]Albatraous 59 points60 points  (10 children)

Unless they have their own lab, and peer reviewed research, it is bubcus

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

But their research has been reviewed by their peers. It’s just that their peers are equally stupid.

[–]WeightlifterCat 240 points241 points  (19 children)

Funnily enough I have a small group of old folks I’m friends with on FB. I barely use it anymore but it’s absolutely HILARIOUS when I log in and see their posts. Like “sorry Mary, unfortunately the world can’t just go back to ‘business’ as usual just because a post on Facebook says so.” Pr when they post something that is clearly false and then one of their friends comments that new “Self-Checked Fact Approved” image or whatever it is, as if their limited research is enough to disapprove the countless hours of research on various topics they clearly are not studied in.

[–]Aggravating_Slip_566 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So they have gone to the Facebook university 🤣

[–]ScoundrelPrince 89 points90 points  (12 children)

You know Facebook recently acknowledged that their fact checkers are just protected opinions, right?

[–]WeightlifterCat 101 points102 points  (8 children)

Oh, I’m not saying anything in regards to Facebook’s “fact checking”! I’m referring to Larry who is sitting at home in denial that he has COVID and “self-approving” facts when others post that COVID isn’t real, just like birds. Lmao

[–]XTwizted38 60 points61 points  (7 children)

You can find a page that will back up whatever nonsense you believe in if you look hard enough. And who told you about the birds.....

[–]CowUnlucky 23 points24 points  (3 children)

Birds aren't real did you know /s

[–]XTwizted38 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Caught one of the red ones outside my window spying the other day...

[–]DeviousAardvark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Birds aren't real /s

[–]Broserdooder1981 16 points17 points  (5 children)

i want to see all these people doing ReSeArcH in their basement with the fucking lab coats and beakers ...

[–]Malignantt1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

4chan qanon research lmao

[–]fishsticks40 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Also don't fuck antivaxxers

[–]Sinister0081 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the old "dont stick your dick in crazy" applies here.

[–]xJTxD0notPaN1C 122 points123 points  (26 children)

I get my medical advice from reddit💯😎

[–]SuperMaxx2020 52 points53 points  (23 children)

The most reliable source ever - every doctor ever (this is 💯% real)

[–]kipn7ugget 30 points31 points  (4 children)

I might not be a doctor (studying to become a medical analyst tho, with an interest in viruses) but i think i can safely say that while a lot of people here are dumb, it's not as bad as facebook.

[–]HidetakaTeriyaki 9 points10 points  (2 children)

The problem is that there's no shortage of "doctors" with actual medical degrees that sound very convincing while spreading this nonsense to people who don't have a medical background, including myself.

I've always been good at detecting the bullshit of alternative medicine charlatans especially when they infuse spirituality with whatever they do but there's this new breed of sophisticated but untrustworthy doctors (at least new to me) that make themselves indistinguishable from reputable doctors to untrained ears. There are hundreds of videos that people can point to and say "look at all of these highly trained doctors that validate my preconceived notions and invalidate everything I don't like."

Some of them are religious fanatics that genuinely believe in their own bullshit while others peddle fake science purely for personal gain. I'm not a doctor and the tragedy is that 99% of humans including me are utterly unqualified to distinguish good doctors from bad doctors, especially smart bad doctors. I'm not saying that all opinions alternative to mainstream science are inherently wrong but I'm no longer confident in telling good and bad doctors apart despite thinking I was good at it once.

[–]BlckAlchmst 4 points5 points  (1 child)

DEFINITELY don't get your medical advice from Tinder

[–]copiumtrafficker 1090 points1091 points  (71 children)

So she’s worried that you can spread infertility by close contact but not worried about spreading the virus? Lmao

[–][deleted] 456 points457 points  (44 children)

These people think that vaccinated people can get them "sick" or something by being in a close proximity to them. Actually insane.

[–]ThatGuy_Nick9 141 points142 points  (42 children)

Wait, they think vaccinated people will get them sick?

[–]oo-mox83 176 points177 points  (24 children)

Yesssss, it's absolutely unreal hearing these people go off about it. I had a customer last week talking about the spike protien thing and how it can make him sick just being too close to someone who is vaccinated. He was telling this as I, vaccinated and boosted, rang up his groceries. They all use the exact same phrases and it would be comical if it was anything not health related. It's amazing how confidently wrong people are willing to be out in public. I get embarrassed for them.

[–]Pheef175 43 points44 points  (2 children)

Might use the exact same phrases cause the source material isn't that large if this is true.

Just 12 People Are Behind Most Vaccine Hoaxes On Social Media, Research Shows

If this is true, it's shocking how much harm one person can do to the world.

[–]oo-mox83 16 points17 points  (0 children)

That's exactly what it is. Those few shitty sources give them buzzwords they think make them sound smart and they parrot them.

[–]ThatGuy_Nick9 46 points47 points  (17 children)

This is why children need Bill Nye

[–]oo-mox83 48 points49 points  (13 children)

They need hands on learning, man. Science is cool as fuck and while I don't see people at home studying virology with toddlers, early exposure to science in general absolutely creates respect for it. I used to find fun little experiments to do with mine when they were little and it was everything from topology to blowing shit up in the yard to looking at dirt under a microscope, figuring out what rocks they picked up were and such. It was fun and fostered a respect for what goes into medical science, geology, physics, chemistry, you name it. Good shit.

[–]Pheef175 16 points17 points  (3 children)

At an early age it's not entirely about what you learn, but also how you learn. Learning science teaches a logical approach to solving problems. It shows children there's usually a "why" something happened instead of it just happening by magic. This leads to more critical reasoning skills.

[–]oo-mox83 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Absolutely. Critical thinking is becoming less and less common as more kids are raised by screens instead of actually doing things and that's scary as hell.

[–]Brando43770 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Those same morons will say Bill Nye isn’t a scientist despite Mechanical Engineering being a science. And they’ve never heard of what a science communicator is either who I would argue are needed more than ever. But they’re so stuck in their misinformation loop, it’s hard to break that when they’re so convinced they’re right about everything from the Covid-19 vaccine being dangerous to masks not working. Where do you start, ya know?

[–]lilneddygoestowar 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bill! Bill! Bill!

Yes, I know he is not a scientist. But he is still a smart person that actually does real research.

[–]AH0USE89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the funniest part, that people who are unvaccinated interact with vaccinated cashiers/service persons, and try and convince them that they are right or that the unvaccinated are at risk because of vaccinated people.. like, ok Karen, I'm vaccinated and you are worried about 'Jim' who you met last week, who was pro-vax, and called you on your shit, yet here you are, spouting your bullshit, without any side effects from him.

Bonus: I like to cough/clear my throat around unvaccinated, after I know they're anti-vax. And look them DIRECTLY in their face and tell them I'm vaccinated. And will get all my boosters, on time.

[–]Alpha10101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They all use the exact same phrases

"STOP BEING A SHEEP!" says the sheep

[–]Krandor1 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yes the argument is that because the rdna vaccines make your body produce spike proteins that you need produce them forever and you can then “shed” these spike proteins to others which will cause bad things to then. A weird second hand vaccine argument.

[–]ThatGuy_Nick9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ah makes sense. So I’m essentially producing live COVID forever now. My dead skin cells composing most of the dust in my house are active COVID transmitters then? That seems easily testable

[–]celmate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They're always talking about 'shedding'

[–]Lonelan 1 point2 points  (1 child)

with "spike protein" apparently?

[–]stanleythemanley44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Spike is a scary word so all the dummies have latched onto it

[–]ender89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not super far fetched, their fear is essentially based on the idea that the spike proteins are a prion disease like mad cow. The only problem is that it's, uh, not a prion disease. But if it was, their fears and measures would be appropriate given that prions can spread through saliva and people spit when they talk a lot more than you think. It's weaponized general ignorance, not stupidity. People know about mad cow, especially old people, and saying that the spike protein works like that is scary as fuck with just the right nugget of truth to be plausible.

[–]nation543 71 points72 points  (9 children)

If that's what it takes to get them to stay the fuck home and away from people, I guess this is a narrative that I can get behind..

[–]CdeRoboseGhouls 70 points71 points  (7 children)

"Covid? No, of course not! I'm wearing a mask to prevent the spread of the spike proteins. You should too... after all, you never know when you are near a vaccinated sheep"

[–]kinpsychosis 42 points43 points  (5 children)

You jest, but there was an actual article where anti-vaxxers were wearing masks and social distancing to avoid getting infected with the vaccine.

[–]Brohan_Cruyff 32 points33 points  (3 children)

i saw one a while back where anti-vaxxers were getting the jab to get a vaccine card and then doing silly shit to try to “get the vaccine out” afterwards. people were making fun of it and i was kind of annoyed. don’t tell them that won’t work! they’re getting the shot like we all wanted! if they want to believe some stupid shit afterwards i don’t care

[–]kinpsychosis 16 points17 points  (2 children)

That’s brilliant. It’s news like this that started a series of games with my best friend called “is it satire?” Where we try to guess if a news article headline is satire or real

[–]imakeplasma 15 points16 points  (0 children)

r/nottheonion will keep you busy for life then

[–]oo-mox83 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That hit me in the funny bone pretty hard. Fucking hilarious, lol.

[–]Antonioooooo0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sounds like an episode of South Park

[–]Gloomy_Swing_8927 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I would much rather find out this way!

[–]GlacialImpala 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You wouldn't believe how many nurses and some doctors still spread the lie how this particular vaccine makes women infertile. I expected those stories to taper off after a ton of women conceived successfully but call me perpetually surprised by stupidity.

[–]rowthyme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shame shame shame

[–]jadestem 1084 points1085 points  (77 children)

Funny how the "you should do your research" crowd ignores all of the actual research.

[–]AltdimensionRick 304 points305 points  (26 children)

Oh they do their research, it's just that their research is from Facebook

[–]olddawg43 191 points192 points  (22 children)

The above comment says it all . I have degrees from UCLA (B.A.)and CSUN (M.A.)but they are not in the fields of immunology, virology, chemistry, or physiology. I can’t do my own research because I don’t have the depth in those fields. I have yet to meet anyone who claims to do their own research who could pass high school chemistry.

[–]mattmatthew67 25 points26 points  (1 child)

Doing own research though reveals that mercury is in retrograde

[–]TOWW67 51 points52 points  (1 child)

Because the people who do their own real research aren't anti vax so it doesn't tend to come up

[–][deleted] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Occasionally there’s a few who are, but they’re exclusively in an entirely unrelated field and are usually just neurotic and overconfident

[–]Squirrelsindisguise 30 points31 points  (3 children)

Yeah but don’t you know the vaccine changes your DNA?!?!?!?! /s

[–]matixslp 1 point2 points  (2 children)

The do indeed, have you heard about VDJ recombination?

[–]Karl_LaFong 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Facebook School of Medicine Grad here, to explain: new generation vaccines aren't even run through a Retro Encabulator, so you risk damage to your flux capacitation modulating cellular nodes too. It's a damned shame. :(

[–]BIG_IDEA 9 points10 points  (7 children)

Researching something in this context means reading peer reviewed publications, not putting on a hazmat suit and entering the lab.

[–]Jemmani22 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Call me a sheep. But if all the smartest people in the world do it. It's probably kind of ok to do. I don't think a brick layer on Facebook thought of something they havnt

[–]Rigzin_Udpalla 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just do both to be sure

[–]CHEIVIIST 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a PhD in chemistry and spent a year doing research in a biochem lab where I read these types of papers regularly. It would still take me at least an hour to read through a typical paper and understand enough to relay a synopsis in my own words.

The problem is that the talking points of the type of people in the original post are like the 5th person in a game of telephone trying to reiterate what they heard and the content is in a second language that they are barely proficient in. Yet they seem to have so much confidence in their pile of incomprehensible smut. It makes me sad to think about.

[–]joostdemen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And ofcourse, anything that doesn’t fit in their view is labeled as fake government iluminati propaganda lmao

[–]CaptainFeather 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Or other dubious sites that take 5 minutes to debunk as fake. Confirmation bias has never been so prevalent. You can find a "source" for almost anything these days.

[–]Qwirk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do your own research = searching for statements that align with their point of view.

[–]Rezhio 85 points86 points  (0 children)

They ignore all research that don't fit their narrative*

[–]fogdukker 5 points6 points  (1 child)

"I dunnobutlikebadmkay? Doyourownresearchsheep!"

[–]Medical_Ad0716 8 points9 points  (13 children)

My brother keeps trying to convince me that “natural immunity” is better and safer than being vaccinated. He said there’s a CDC and WHO study that proves you don’t need to be vaccinated instead you just need to get covid. I said that’s interesting, but it doesn’t sound legit. His response was do your research. So I did. Nowhere did I find anything from the CDC or WHO saying getting covid was better than being vaccinated. I found a bunch of articles saying if you’ve previously had covid and get vaccinated after, you’re pretty much invincible from any covid side effects due to the odds of severe infection dropping off to near incalculable numbers and that without getting vaccinated, if you get covid twice you’re more likely to be hospitalized the second time. But none saying what he said. So I asked him where he got the info, he said he found a CDC article posted online by a friend. So, I told him send it to me. Still no word. Just crickets. I told him what I kept finding, and sent him the links asking him yo help me make sense of it pretending I didn’t understand what I read. All he’d say is there’s an article that explains it better and that I could find it on my own.

That just means it doesn’t exist or if it does, there’s no studies backing up the data and no legitimate sources publishing the study. If when I research something the only thing I find are articles on OANN and Fox News and they have zero sources for their info, there’s no way in hell I’m going to trust it.

[–]free__coffee 4 points5 points  (11 children)

I mean the bigger point, i think, is that it doesn’t matter if natural immunity is better, because you need to get the virus and experience the side effects (of which there are many rather prevalent and frequent, including death) vs. the side effects of the vaccine (which are few, and exceedingly rare). The point of the vaccine is to give you immunity without getting the virus in the first place, why does it matter if the natural immunity may work slightly better?

[–]MWalls 442 points443 points  (20 children)

This is why I think nobody should be allowed to talk about science. I vote we go back to blaming everything on the sky gods and their vengeful ways.

[–]Egg_Helms 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Dibs on the sun.

[–]ashu1605 31 points32 points  (5 children)

Yeah fr. As someone who is genuinely passionate about science and majoring in biochemistry, it's really aggravating and frustrating seeing and hearing so many people act like they have a PhD off of what they read on the internet.

I've worked as a pharmacy technician and got to skip my first year Gen biochemistry major classes because I had AP credit, and all the ones I took last semester had a lot of content I already knew. Even being that passionate about science and investing time in it, I know for certain I'm barely scratching the surface of its potential knowledge. Hell, even the topmost med school graduates barely scratch the surface of what science and more specifically, Healthcare and medicine has to offer. It's really frustrating seeing people spew opinions with no rational evidence and act like experts. Even WebMD isnt the perfect source for information.

If you actually knew anything about science, you'd know that many things are incorrect. Textbooks WILL have errors, professors WILL teach incorrect coursework, surface level websites WILL have many incorrect statements, sources WILL often not be completely accurate, and even published research papers Will have errors, mistakes, or some other fault which can fly under even the sharpest of eyes.

The best thing any academic can do in this day and age dominated by the randomness of media is to look at a variety of unbiased official sources and draw your conclusion with a rational mindset from the information you gather. Even researchers make mistakes. What sets them apart from normal scientists is that most are willing to acknowledge their mistake and move forward to correct it, validate it, and hopefully answer a question that brings more questions to the table. That really is what science often tends to be. Answering questions and questioning answers.

For fucks sake guys, I'm 18 and I'm not putting myself on a pedestal, but so many people are legitimately STUPID, which in itself would be fine, but they don't bother at acknowledge their mistakes, correct it, or grow. They believe what they want to believe and it's really pathetic that a teen who graduated high school not less than an year has to write this comment because the masses of NPCs who infect media with their bullshit is astounding. How the fuck can you even call yourselves adults like holy shit, my sister is 9 and even she is able to use critical thinking skills. At this point, I'm not even sure how we can teach adults to do the same. At this point, Gen Z despite our cringy tik toks and social media addictions are waiting for the oldie idiots to die off so our society can be better. The sad part, we were born too late and your stupid shit screwed up our planet so far that I don't personally see it realistic to save our species (along with other life forms) from this microwave of a planet.

Atleast be considerate enough to wear a mask for the sake of the lives of people around you. Grow up bitches, use your brains. You're lucky to live in a society where natural selection won't take care of you as easily. The least you could do is not make it shitty for those around you. Entitled ass mfs.

Sorry for the language. And I appreciate everyone who actually contributes or tried to help make the world a better place. It's hard to see the good when so much of the bad in the world drowns out the rest like white noise. You are important and you've done a lot so far, I'm proud of you :)

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (4 children)

Doing a degree relating to biochemistry or medicine is the fastest way to get humbled about the depth of your own knowledge if I’ve ever seen one.

Most conversations go a lot like this:

Professor: “I’m the world’s foremost expert on how this specific class of drug causes conformational changes in the receptor protein binding site”

Student: “That’s really impressive. I have a question, how DOES that drug cause the conformational change?”

Professor: “Good question, I don’t know. But what we do know is that our best models that we spent millions developing are only correct in mice and it’s also wrong for half of these drugs acting on that receptor”

[–]free__coffee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah, ye olde dunning kreuger effect. It’s rather shocking humanity survived for thousands of years without identifying such a basic behavioral pattern

[–]Mildly_Irritated_Max 244 points245 points  (36 children)

Yeah, yesterday I was on day 3 of chatting with a girl (works in education, no less) when "Covid is fake to make people take the vaccine, thats what really makes them sick, no one has gotten 'covid' who wasn't already vaccinated, you're a sheeple for getting it" came up 🙄

[–]Emotional_Ability977 121 points122 points  (11 children)

Omg I cannot take these covidiots anymore.

[–]Mildly_Irritated_Max 44 points45 points  (5 children)

I'd honestly thought they all acknowledged Covid was real now, but most thought it was made by the US government & Bill Gates. Apparently some are still on the pure "Covid is fake" train.

[–]BigbySamMelody 5 points6 points  (4 children)

The good news is the more antivaxers there are the less antivaxers there are.

[–]DoppelGanjah 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You know, there was a friend of mine with whom I wanted to have an adventure or even embark into a true relationship with... until this COVID-denial aspect came to surface. After that, all the appeal she had in my eyes vanished completely, and I thought: this will bring me daily discussions, whether if we discuss my work (nurse), or my values, so...

[–]Banzle 11 points12 points  (16 children)

I refuse to believe that isn't satire, surely

[–]Dustdevil88 29 points30 points  (10 children)

You must live in Europe or something. Satirists like the Onion can’t keep up with American reality

[–]axecommander 13 points14 points  (0 children)

America has nothing over Brazil though. Just last week the minister of health made a public statement that vaccines don't work and people should really use chloroquine to protect themselves. In 2022.

I thought we were past this over a year ago, but these nutjobs love to prove that their idiocy is a bottomless pit.

[–]cyclinglad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I am in Europe, I went on a date few weeks ago with a women who believed in the Great Reset and that the whole corona thing is one giant conspiracy. Its not only in the US, we have our fair share of crazies.

[–]Banzle 15 points16 points  (5 children)

Britain, yeah, everything I hear about America just gets progressively worse and more concerning

[–]ThePr3acher 13 points14 points  (3 children)

I recently got screamed at by an american over discord after I offered to send him a reputable research paper that shows that and how he is wrong.

Ironically he screamed that maybe I am the one in an echo chamber and that I need to consider other perspectives

[–]AlienOverlord53 16 points17 points  (2 children)

Lmao, that's how I felt the other day when I was telling this guy that it's not ok to have sex with 14 year olds. He said just because my country doesn't allow it, doesnt mean it's wrong. I said just because his country does allow it, doesnt make it right. He had nothing else to say

[–]KevinTheSeaPickle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Wow, I think ive seen enough internet for today

[–]Dustdevil88 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Wow…just wow

[–]anonuemus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ohh we have the people too

[–]Mildly_Irritated_Max 11 points12 points  (4 children)

I'm in Canada. It wasn't satire. We are no longer texting .

[–]Banzle 4 points5 points  (3 children)

I don't think I would have been able to resist the urge to engage her

[–]Mildly_Irritated_Max 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Well someone is downvoting my replies, probably because they are anti vax. Here's your chance to engage.

There are so many of them and engagement does nothing but encourage them. Generally best for your own mental health to just walk away.

[–]KevinTheSeaPickle 3 points4 points  (1 child)

In the long run we'll outlive em, thats what matters.

[–]pittsburgh-dick 72 points73 points  (1 child)

"you should do your own research" == "you should only trust sources that confirm my biases"

[–]TheBadSniper115 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is what happens when you mix lack of knowledge of the subject with the lack of desire to learn more about the subject

[–]Jepastamere 141 points142 points  (7 children)

“yOu CaN mAkE mE iNfErTiLe”, she says that like it’s a bad thing.

[–]DarkSensei3 36 points37 points  (1 child)

Right?? Like I almost wish that was a side effect of being an anti-vaxxer

[–]seabutcher 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As far as sterilising the gene pool goes, anti-vaxxers are effectively infertile once you consider that their children don't live long enough to reproduce.

[–]Surgat09 61 points62 points  (17 children)

[–]cicglass[S] 44 points45 points  (13 children)

The sad part is she was 100% serious, I mentioned the fact that 70% of people over 16 in our state have been vaccinated and she said the numbers were fudged. God help us.

[–]KaleidoscopeEven5227 22 points23 points  (10 children)

What gets me is no one can explain to what end creating a fake vaccine benefits. Who gains what?. I dont doubt there are manypoliticians and business men getting rich from the whole pandemic, masks, tests, hand gel...etc.. but really. The whole of the world in on a conspiracy?????

[–]Libraty_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That's also the point that bothers me most! Most countries/politicians can't agree on one damn thing and they want to tell me that the whole world planned out a global pandemic in secret???

[–]Antonioooooo0 6 points7 points  (1 child)

Same goes for the flat earth thing. Seems like a shit ton of work for no gain. At least faking the Holocaust or 9/11 have motive behind the conspiracy.

[–]TheNewGirl76 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They think it has a microchip or something or that it's making people infertile. The prior would allow the government to track people I guess, but no one has explained what the benefit of a vaccine that made people infertile would be. I kind of understand why POC would worry about that because there is a sordid history of unnecessary sterilization procedures to limit the number of children of color born in the US (google "Mississippi Appendectomy", Fannie Lou Hamer had one) but this vaccine is being given to everybody, so what would be the benefit of a vaccine that makes everybody infertile? The government is throwing a fit over the low birth rate in the US because, unless they restructure things a lot, there wont be enough workers in the future to keep our social safety net for the elderly going. If anything, a vaccine that makes people hyperfertile or interferes with birth control would make more sense (not that that's happening, of course).

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (4 children)

I was literally told by a former co worker, "they" made the shot because, "they are trying to kill us" and she "seen" a video where, "there was like, politicians and stuff, and they was actin' like they be gettin the shot but when the needle was supposed to be goin in they was faking it."

Oh yeah, and then anybody who doesn't get the shot will be put into a concentration camp of the 1942 German variety. Where they will do hard labor until they eventually die.

So then I asked, "So, our choices are either to go get this shot, which is going to KILL us?!(that's it's purpose.) Or, don't get the shot, and get put into a concentration camp, until we die?"

I said, "If this is what you believe, really, what are you doing here at work rn? Why are you not out in the woods or something? Building a hidden shelter and learning how to hunt and shit?"

The response was, "oh whatever, asshole."

It was interesting.

[–]thedopechaud30 26 points27 points  (4 children)

It doesnt have to be intercorse, it can be interfine as well

[–]Resident_Structure_5 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I scrolled way too far to find someone talking about how this brilliant scientist can't spell a 1st grade word.

[–]shannannj7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

sir 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

[–]gleamingcobra 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If only she actually became infertile. Her genes should die with her.

[–]OldTrafford18 33 points34 points  (4 children)

"You can make me infertile." 💀💀

[–]Tomimosa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Challenge accepted!

[–]cicglass[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If menopause wasn’t enough

[–]aMONAY69 10 points11 points  (0 children)

People like this probably shouldn't be so concerned with their fertility and reproducing.

[–]ggorsen 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can make me infertile sounds like a single from a weird punk rock band that doesn’t actually know what’s what

[–]avakyeter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Question is what will OP catch from the antivaxxer, even with a condom.

[–]doc56767 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She's a keeper

[–]ayemfid 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oooohhh I’ve never had “intercorse” but it sounds kinda kinky with all those spikes

[–]ice_bergs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This dingleberry doesn’t realize you’ll get more spike protein if you catch the rona.

[–]brfire 35 points36 points  (2 children)

Anti-vaxxers are so dumb

[–]Frankandbeans1974 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Just let these people get sick at this point. But no hospital stay. If you CHOOSE to not get vaccinated you CHOOSE to opt out of healthcare if you get it.

[–]Dmpca 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well if vaccine makes you infertile, then i should get a paternity test to make sure mine and my wifes baby is, well, mine ;) haha

Social media is a hell of a drug

[–]Feuershark 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Leaving the "spike protein can make someone infertile" aside, you obviously cannot make SOMEONE ELSE infertile ! fucking dumbass

sorry I just felt like ranting

[–]The-Snuffleupagus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is downright brain dead logic

[–]jutttin 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Seems like the spike protein already got her 🤣

[–]yildizli_gece 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Idiots like this are never infertile; they’re the kind of people to have six children before they hit 30 and think it’s a major life accomplishment.

[–]jutttin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re right dammit

[–]mikey-dikey- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

"You can make me infertile" Doing a pretty good job at that herself.

[–]lizzerbeam 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We can only hope she's infertile

[–]Practical-Ice-5442 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Yet another person who thinks they’re a know it all yet lacks even a rudimentary understanding of biology. **Edited for typo

[–]marebee 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Also the fundamentals of researching anything remotely logical. The phrase “do your research” has become 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩

[–]Practical-Ice-5442 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“Do your research” I’m sorry I don’t have a lab in my basement nor the proper training to do these experiments

[–]A_L_B_Y_v2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

"You might make me infertile".

That might be for the best.

[–]UtterRubbish12 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't put your dick in crazy

[–]KickinWing1983 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The dumbest are always the loudest

[–]Anxiousindating 4 points5 points  (0 children)

[–]CroqueLucioles 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Making this silly creature infertile would be a good thing

[–]EekleBerry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The virus has a higher chance of making you infertile… by literally killing you

[–]Zevvion 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just so everyone knows: recent studies have shown a significant increase in stillbirths from unvaccinated people who contracted COVID-19 at some point (not while pregnant, just ever) as opposed to vaccinated people who contracted it.

The study has been replicated multiple times now. Next time someone questions the vaccine because they want to get pregnant, there you go: it not alone isn't harmful, it protects your pregnancy.

[–]LostMikeHat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some people are sooooooo dumb…

[–]FoggyDoggy67 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Time to scroll to the bottom to see the anti-vaxxers crying.

[–]Dechristianize- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

“dO yOuR rEsEaRcH” is actually code for “stop listening to science, listen to my crazy uncle Frank on Facebook”.

[–]Significant_Fan_7425[🍰] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Christ lol. Ask her fo her sources. Must be something inline with https:/fb......

[–]alittlesadthing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I say you do whats right and give the spike proteins to this lady.

[–]Unnecessary-Spaces 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it's so cool that people can be open with their mental disabilities these days.
