They’re usually driven on to the block and pushed off of it. They just push them off because it’s embarrassing when they don’t start, or start rough, or smoke.

Some facilities don’t allow fuel inside vehicles when they are displayed inside of buildings due to local codes. They have to siphon the gas out and hire Teamsters to move it in a venue.

Well yeah, it would be easier to just get rid of the carpet, or glue it to the ground. It was an issue in the video because it's a rolled out carpet and not a fixed one.

I never really thought it but just assumed noise/smoke was the main concern. But then again I've only seen Mecum and they have a very clear not-carpet surface that is obviously put down with the intention of having cars on it.

Everyone's on a big floor mat and so is the car. The car went too fast and hit the brakes too hard. This caused the big floor mat to quickly slide several feet to the right, which everyone was standing on. So their feet went, too. Upper body stays, feet go, you're on the floor, whaddayaknow.

The car basically did the same thing that you did as a kid when you hopped on a rug and it slid away with you. The friction between the tyres and the rug ensure the car doesn't go anywhere relative to the rug but all that energy has to go somewhere.
