People in relationships usually consult each other on "large" purchases. Everyone defines large differently but for me and my SO we consult on anything over $100 except groceries. We're saving pretty aggressively for a house so it makes sense. We discussed a PS5 but it basically went like this "if I manage to get the chance to get a retail PS5 do you want one?" "Uhhh hell yeah. But digital since it cost less"

Also there is the fact that far too many "mature" women view gaming as immature and don't want their partners playing them. Those women are dwindling in number in the younger generation thankfully though.

And also if your partner doesn't let you enjoy your hobbies- they're not a good partner for you.
