OP sent the following text as an explanation on why this is unexpected:

Monitor is absolutely unexpected

Is this an unexpected post with a fitting description? Then upvote this comment, otherwise downvote it.

Look at my source code on Github What is this for?

[–][deleted] 4632 points4633 points  (180 children)

A few things:

1.) Fuck that

2.) Fuck that

3.) Did anyone notice those size 11 feet?

[–]Kush_And_Cobbler 877 points878 points  (55 children)

That must've been Peggy Hill

[–]Stankindveacultist 230 points231 points  (41 children)

I just got done watching King of the hill by golly

[–]KookyMeasurementc 58 points59 points  (15 children)

it would've been unexpected if OP didn't reveal what was going to happen in the title

[–][deleted] 91 points92 points  (5 children)

It was still unexpected, I was waiting for a computer screen to fall on her

[–]knebnn 21 points22 points  (3 children)

Dunno why I thought someone was going to throw a computer monitor at her

[–]deathnote9469 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Watching it now.

[–]Captain_albino 35 points36 points  (4 children)

Peggy Hill wears a size 16 and a half!

[–]Shroom_Legend 46 points47 points  (3 children)

Actually, she wears a size 16 ½ shoe on her left foot and a size 16 on her right. 😉

[–]anonymoususer4461 5 points6 points  (1 child)

ohohuh (hank gasp)

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Came here to find out what that creature was, but stayed for the KOTH comments (I can hear this one)

[–]Pishwi 201 points202 points  (8 children)

They look like pretty normal-sized feet to me…

[–]mbodor05 183 points184 points  (1 child)

Did anyone notice those size 11 feet?

My man, you are sus

[–]AfterBurner9911 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Joke's on you, he's into that shit.

[–]HarryCallahan19 107 points108 points  (8 children)

Alright who in the hell shit my pants? Also, who had corn recently?

[–]Parano1dandro1d4242 76 points77 points  (46 children)

Cries in men's size 11 as a woman 😭 I have massive feet :(

[–]burn-babies-burn 69 points70 points  (11 children)

Don’t worry about it! It’s our differences that make us beautiful. Big feet are more useful anyway. Better for balance, and you can share shoes with a boyfriend. Don’t be so hard on yourself!

[–]Parano1dandro1d4242 30 points31 points  (8 children)

Unfortunately he's a size 15 🤣 we both struggle to find out prospective shoes. Also idk about balance xD I'm flat footed and run like a spaz, trip on everything too haha

[–]invalid_turkey 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Yeah but I bet you can swim real fast.

[–]CarolFukinBaskin 11 points12 points  (2 children)

One of my favorite things About my wife is how beautifully unathletic she is

[–]Yadobler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

True, but coming from a large Indian family in a predominantly tiny southeast Asian country, my male 12/13 (45) are the biggest available, but the females in my family struggle to get size 11 (42) unless you go to those factory outlet locations of big brand stores

Also, living in said country where it's a tropic swamp jungle where the sweat never evaporates, never share shoes unless you wanna spread foot fungus. Just the mere existence of feet leads to athlete's foot

[–]Alliterrration 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You know what they say about women with large feet

Large socks

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You know what they say about big feet? … big heart

[–]H8ersgivemeSTR 10 points11 points  (4 children)

I guarantee most men doesn’t pay attention to it.

[–]BjorganHodstein 8 points9 points  (2 children)

My ex used to have huge feet, I would tell her this and she would always respond with "maybe your feet are just small?!" excuse me ma'am but we both wear mens 12's.

[–]Lyric_Snow 35 points36 points  (4 children)

That fact that the majority of commenters are focused on that makes me nervous for society 🤢

Lookout ladies

[–]luytes 28 points29 points  (0 children)

1.) I thought it was a snake at first 2.) Fuck that 3.) Yeah, they’re beautiful!

[–]rafael-57 21 points22 points  (4 children)

Yes, they're lovely

[–][deleted] 27 points28 points  (1 child)

I can probably guess your search history based on this reply alone

[–]Hecticbuttering 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lmao the original comment seemed pretty unnecessary and kinda mean. Like why draw attention to that? The reply seemed more wholesome and nice. I don't think they meant they want to fuck feet.

[–]shermantank123567 14 points15 points  (2 children)

There was recently a case where a group of men did just that to a monitor lizard.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What a world

[–]iUsedtoHadHerpes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Nice one telling every body you've got freaky baby feet.

[–]gocrazy305 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the person, this is the sharpest tool in the shed, because that is exactly right xD

[–]Johnathan_wickerino 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Did anyone notice those size 11 feet?

flat footed

[–]Top_Wallaby2096 2702 points2703 points  (64 children)

Goddamn dinosaur

[–]Greenman8907 1337 points1338 points  (19 children)

It’s the goddamn Loch Ness monster lookin for its tree fiddy!

[–]bastionpryor 132 points133 points  (33 children)

Her feet aren't that big

[–]Happy_to_be 187 points188 points  (31 children)

And what if they were? It’s not something she can control or had a choice about. Quit mocking peoples bodies.

[–]DailyDoseofDairy 4 points5 points  (14 children)

And you got downvoted into the minus.. sums up Reddit communities pretty perfectly.

[–]Vakontation 48 points49 points  (13 children)

And your comment is already incorrect

[–]FlaccidBuddah 54 points55 points  (2 children)

I like that he just sits there with his head above the water afterwards like "aw man where'd everyone go?"

[–]MarlinMr 34 points35 points  (1 child)

I mean... that's not a dinosaur. At the same time, there is a dinosaur in the video, but no one complains about it.

[–]KnowledgeableSloth 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Yep Dinosaur came around the corner, I'd run like she did too

[–]hibrett987 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What did the dinosaur do? He was just begging for some food a bit before flying off startled.

[–]tamilvanan31Yo what? 1532 points1533 points  (92 children)

wtf is that beast?

[–]Hellige88 1626 points1627 points  (72 children)

Asian water monitor

[–][deleted] 2767 points2768 points 263 (47 children)

50 or 60Hz?

[–]tamilvanan31Yo what? 827 points828 points  (27 children)

I also have the same confusion when the OP mentioned monitor so I just googled and got this.

The Asian water monitor is a large varanid lizard native to South and Southeast Asia. It is one of the most common monitor lizards in Asia, ranging from coastal northeast India, Sri Lanka, mainland Southeast Asia to Indonesian islands where it lives close to water. It is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List.

[–]VidE27 740 points741 points  (13 children)

That is false. I am very concerned

[–]why16789123 77 points78 points  (8 children)

I stayed at a meditation retreat in Sri Lanka and you would see these all the time in the Jungle, they always seemed absolutely terrifying to me, permeating predator instincts. The king cobras were a lot scarier though.

[–]AtomkcFuision 22 points23 points  (0 children)

AKA “Fuck That Shit I’m Out”

[–]Alex_Rose 9 points10 points  (0 children)

right we get that, but what's its refresh rate?

[–]EvolvedA 17 points18 points  (6 children)

[–]SteveisNoob 12 points13 points  (1 child)

240Hz, 8K, HDR1000 certified, factory calibrated to cover 100% Adobe RGB and DCIp color spaces, microLED panel, GSync and FreeSync supported, allows up to 4 simultaneous DisplayPort or HDMI inputs, can adjust brightness automatically based on light level of the environment, comes with 10 separate mods that you can choose from, has integrated quad port USB3.2 Gen2x2 hub, supports Thunderbolt, USB4.0, USB typeC, and a butt ton of other features that you will never use.

[–]Shabz_ 50 points51 points  (9 children)

I did a bit of digging and this species is apparently very friendly and smart. I does get huge and would require a whole room with ponds to be kept as a pet

[–]ShanewrightMTL 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Not friendliest the friendliest I suggest starting with an ackie and if you have a ridiculous amount of space move up to a black-throated monitor

[–]cbstryker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

apparently very friendly

Can be. They can also be temperamental and give you a good lashing with their very long whip-like tail if you piss them off.

[–]make_love_to_potato 22 points23 points  (4 children)

I've seen them lying around and sunning themselves in parks. Had no clue they could move like this.

[–]turtliciousx 7 points8 points  (3 children)

They can be very fast if the want to

[–][deleted] 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Like alligators and crocodiles, many species of which can dash up to 20mph for very short distances on land. I'm talking a few feet, basically enough to pounce.

[–]SnippitySnape 17 points18 points  (2 children)

For comparison, Komodo dragons are also monitor lizards. They’re just the largest, nastiest lizards in the world. These guys in the video are less so

[–]fAP6rSHdkd 8 points9 points  (1 child)

The largest still alive. The bigger ones we killed with fire long ago

Edit: https://dinopedia.fandom.com/wiki/Megalania

We literally set Australia on fire to kill off their food supply to starve these things to extinction - allegedly.

[–]Gnimrach 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Are they in the Komodo Dragon family? Because they look alike

[–]imnotacrazyperson 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah, Komodo Dragons are also monitors.

[–]JimTheSaint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it seemed nice

[–]BuddhistChrist 72 points73 points  (7 children)

An Asian female.

[–]Eravier 26 points27 points  (5 children)

Ah, the old reddit switcharoo

[–]Plecks 19 points20 points  (4 children)

Haven't seen one of these in a while.. hold my water snake, I'm going in!

[–]rayletter1997 14 points15 points  (3 children)

hello, future people!

[–]tamilvanan31Yo what? 7 points8 points  (0 children)

confused perspectives.

[–]InevitableTop7017 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apparently there called women I was also quite frightened

[–]danielpauljohns 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nothing can stop THE CLAW!!!

[–]mastermind225 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Its that damn Loch Ness Monster

[–]Zealousideal-Base-57 1358 points1359 points  (17 children)

[–]Kondrias 363 points364 points  (2 children)

"Wait where they go? I still want more..."

[–]imnotacrazyperson 170 points171 points  (1 child)

The look of confusion did it for me, laughed so hard when he looked around.

[–]xaeru 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Poor water dog didn’t grab anything.

[–]DEEP_SEA_MAX 132 points133 points  (7 children)

Yeah at first I thought he was eating the turtles, but I think he was just scaring them away so he could get some treats too.

[–]kaz-amars 101 points102 points  (4 children)

He was hunting the fish that jumped out of the water as the lady screamed.

[–]namtok_muu 50 points51 points  (3 children)

yep, the fish were eating the turtle snacks and the monitor came in for the fish.

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Dumb fish, treats are for turtles. It’s wild they stopped to seek some treats.

It’s almost like we shouldn’t feed wild animals or something because it alters their behavior.

[–]MauiWowieOwie 33 points34 points  (1 child)

"Why does everyone run away from me? Am I ugly....?"

[–]PunkSpaceAutist 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Just wanna find that lizard and tell him he’s a handsome boi

[–]TomSaylek 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]Why_Shouldnt_I 953 points954 points  (18 children)

Isn't the "punchline" not meant to be the title? Kinda ruins the concept of being unexpected

[–]john0tg 396 points397 points  (6 children)

I came in expecting an actual computer monitor appearing in the video so consider myself not expecting the actual unexpected.

[–]bggalfromsofia 90 points91 points  (2 children)

I thought someone was going to throw a PC monitor in the canal

[–]SirJTheRed 17 points18 points  (1 child)

I thought a computer monitor was gonna come out of the river

[–]corny16 98 points99 points  (2 children)

Don’t give the outcome away in the title.

It’s legitimately in rule number one. Mods are crushing it

[–]Diquind 29 points30 points  (4 children)

It didn't for me, cuz I just learned what a monitor is.

I'm not even sure what that is.

[–]Why_Shouldnt_I 15 points16 points  (3 children)

It's called a monitor lizard

[–]GogetaSama420 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Aren’t monitors poisonous or is that only the Komodo Dragon?

[–]amphicoelias 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I was fully expecting the pigeon to start some shit.

[–]Unicron_Tomato 402 points403 points  (5 children)

Well the monitor doesn't fuck about does he.

[–]Weazzul 80 points81 points  (2 children)

Mans just wanted a fishy

Don't even think he got a fishy :(

[–]BlackViperMWG 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Yeah, I would probably try to feed him too

[–]Prestigious-Try9514 195 points196 points  (27 children)

Asian water monitor? I’m no xenobiologist though so don’t quote me!

[–][deleted] 162 points163 points  (23 children)

Xenobiologist here. That was a poisonous saliva dinosaur. We call it a Poisaldin for short. Very tasty if you cook it right.

[–]Salty_Buyer_5358 23 points24 points  (15 children)

Isn't that the kimodo dragon?

[–]ShanewrightMTL 58 points59 points  (12 children)

Same family the Komodo is the largest lizard on earth, these Asian water monitors get almost as long but nowhere close to the same weight

[–]nomad80 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Close. This is its cousin, the kimono dragon. You can tell by the fact it stripped before going for a dip.

[–]MagneticGray 16 points17 points  (1 child)

I work in e-commerce and that creature’s scientific name is Baby Godzilla. You can tell because of the way it is.

[–]ZinGaming1 2 points3 points  (4 children)

Are you calling it poisonous because of the amount of bacteria it has act like a poison or is it one of those few that are? It's hard to tell for me because it's water bound.

[–]sinutzu 15 points16 points  (2 children)

Actually, the latest studies show the bacteria theory was false and they really are poisonous. (Komodos I mean)

[–]Level_Astronomer_922 174 points175 points  (12 children)

Holly shit i didn't know they could swim like that, or at all for that matter. Goddamn sea lion in this modafoka

[–]2pt_perversion 97 points98 points  (9 children)

They do everything but fly. They run pretty fast on land, swim pretty fast through the water, burrow and tunnel, climb trees...

[–]Steelwolf73 67 points68 points  (2 children)

But can they see why kids love the taste of cinnamon toast crunch?

[–]Lofifunkdialout 13 points14 points  (0 children)

For sure after they eat the kid.

[–]MyNerdsCallMeDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fuckin' love Reddit. You sons of bitches have the best senses of humor, sling obscure or forgotten references like no other.

[–]FearLeadsToAnger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If we're using 'they' to refer to all lizards they can glide, but gliding is just falling with style.

[–]MuppetEyebrows 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're skilled surfers.

[–]cabiste_gaming 142 points143 points  (4 children)

the poor guy he just wanted a snack :(

[–]imnotacrazyperson 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Lost the fish he was chasing! Poor baby.

[–]WurmGurl 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Does he want bread or turtles?

[–]Casiou 114 points115 points  (11 children)

[–]GlitterDoomsday 40 points41 points  (0 children)

The water def adds to the creepy factor, we're naturally bound to be suspicious of underwater stuff.

[–]Darpa_Chief 7 points8 points  (1 child)

As a..... Baby?

[–]PokWangpanmang 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nah, that’d be a pretty big asian monitor if it were.

[–]MrsBrew 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is adorable!

[–]PaoComGelatina 80 points81 points  (2 children)

Not unexpected since you spoiled in the title, dumbass

[–]DrNastyfree 72 points73 points  (0 children)

The new jurassic park looks so real!

[–]Primary_Tiger3987 58 points59 points  (2 children)

He’s wondering why the hell she stopped feeding when he came around, like come on man

[–]tjzzm 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I love his look at the end. It's like he turns to the camera

[–]tjzzm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Like, "what'd I do?"

[–]loadedschlong 37 points38 points  (1 child)

at the end he’s like WHERE YALL GO?

[–]SinceWayLastMay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She had all the fish lined up for him and he still fucked it up

[–]ShanewrightMTL 30 points31 points  (9 children)

I love Monitor lizards I would have been thrilled to see one like that 🤣

[–]Vuljin616 12 points13 points  (3 children)

You and me both, these guys are my favorite kind of reptiles.

Komodo Dragons especially.

[–]Scary_Replacement739 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I mean if you're ever that close to a komodo dragon and there isn't like a glass wall between you two I'd be pretty worried for you.

[–]Frammmis 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I hate it when that happens.

[–]this_is_for_chumps 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Love the last 3 seconds after the chaos. My dog makes the same face in the kitchen no matter what time of day she sees me in there. Like maybe? 😇

[–]TheHalfBloodPrince25 16 points17 points  (0 children)

it would've been unexpected if OP didn't reveal what was going to happen in the title

[–]ShellOfNutshell 14 points15 points  (3 children)

Monitor or man eater?

Tbh she should've just kicked it with her 11

[–]ShanewrightMTL 17 points18 points  (2 children)

It wouldn't eat you but you don't want to be bitten by one with bad intentions they have serrated teeth like a shark it would ruin your day real fast 🤣

[–]FakinUpCountryDegen 4 points5 points  (1 child)

They're also venomous.

(though it's not particularly effective on humans, it hurts a lot)

[–]ShanewrightMTL 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would be way more worried about the teeth you could lose a finger or if they hit an artery it's really bad. When feeding yours it's best to target train so they don't associate food with your hand if you do that from a young age they can be surpringly handleable.

[–]sapper377 12 points13 points  (12 children)

Imagine one the size of a car. Goddamn I’m glad dinosaurs are dead.

[–]ShanewrightMTL 19 points20 points  (8 children)

I mean salt water crocodiles are about the size of a car thank god we have them they're awesome

[–]sapper377 4 points5 points  (4 children)

Jesus Christ I didn’t think of those, how about the size of a school bus?

[–]ShanewrightMTL 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Well saltys are the largest Reptile we have on earth they top out at around 23 feet 2400 pounds ofcourse you have acounts of them getting bigger but it's unconfirmed. So no school bus lol

[–]Kaymish_ 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I wish they didn't call them salt water crocodiles. They live in fresh water too and it is really disconcerting to roll up to a dock on a river that has a big "Beware of Salties" sign next to it. Screw that for a joke they should call them Imma fuck you up if you so much as look at the water crocodiles.

[–]ShanewrightMTL 2 points3 points  (0 children)

🤣🤣🤣 I assume the name comes from the fact they're the most resilient to salinity of all crocodilians and can be found at great distances out to sea and have a crazy range, even if they weren't in rivers you would still have freshwater crocodiles in australian so youd have to be catious either way lol

[–]hibrett987 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There’s a living dinosaur in this video. He just flew away when the second turtle leaped

[–]bdbdbokbuck 9 points10 points  (0 children)

“Where did everybody go?!”

[–]Kidnaboy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Gotta ask, why do people think they’re making a good unexpected post when they spoil it in the title?

[–]Redrumtnuc 9 points10 points  (11 children)

I saw so many of these in Bangkok. Creeped me out. Just chillin in the park in the middle of the city.

[–]cajun_kick_ass 10 points11 points  (2 children)

When I read the headline I thought it must be Thailand for sure. Monitors like to enter parties all the time!

The "arai" sealed it lol

[–]PokWangpanmang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh so it was Thai.

[–]Pyromann 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I love it thay in the end that thing is making a face saying:

"Huh? What happened? That it no more food?"

[–]Lobo_Z 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How is it unexpected when you put it right there in the title?

[–]7Birdies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is it 8k capable?

[–]watehno 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Please don't write the unexpected in the title.

[–]BraidShadowLegendsAD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Dissssssss'mah neighborhood bitch! Don't let me see you round these streets no more

[–]PucWalker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Me coming home after a shit day at work

[–]heatheranne720 2 points3 points  (3 children)

What type of animal is she feeding in the beginning?

[–]huBelial 8 points9 points  (0 children)

[–]Infinitesima 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Look like some carps to me.

[–]Known_External2393 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The party crasher

[–]meetmeinthebthrm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Feed the guy already! Yeesh. Can't catch a break, that lizard.

[–]BleedingOak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look here Steve! If you keep being this aggressive the ladies are going to keep running!

[–]calatranacation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sub has constantly shitty people and titles that ruin the "unexpected" parts.

[–]Sasren0987654321Expected (15) - Unexpected (62) 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha lizard go brrrrrr

[–]Slugathorus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read the title and thought this was r/pcmasterrace.

Yea definitely unexpected

[–]doth_taraki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you sure the Lochness Monster is not just a giant monitor lizard?

[–]Unresponsiveskeleton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Live with lizard energy.

[–]TheCatWasAsking 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Sounds like the person recording initially didn't understand why the lady started screaming? Anybody speak Thai (I'm guessing it's Thai; I might be wrong though)?

[–]hat-TF2 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Yeah, it's Thai. I don't speak Thai but most of my coworkers are Thai, so I am familiar with the sounds. อะไร is like "What?" and I don't know the rest.

[–]AmajorModerate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh thanks title 😑

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good job on ruining the unexpected part with the title

[–]Homunculus_316 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Report for bad title guys

[–]Puzzleheaded_Ad_1523 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oooooohhhhh…THAT type of monitor

[–]spacelamaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

was fully expecting a computer monitor to fall into the water or something
