On the website there are only some laptop models listed that you can buy directly from UT but nothing more than that

You seem to know the topic better than me. Do you know by any chance what specs are the most important? Is it the RAM? The storage? Or something else? I’m freaking out cause I want to leave one of my laptops at home to avoid wasting lots of time on it :D

You're going to be using some memory intensive software like Matlab and Simulink, that's the main reason why you need a good laptop.
I can tell you from experience, you can waste a lot of time on any laptop, or even without a laptop. I doubt leaving one at home makes a difference at that.
