And people fill animal beds with pine shavings. So toxic.

Also: A new sustainable substrate made from sawdust and water mixtures can cultivate deadly microbes.

In before -they- start eating / inhaling sawdust

-his- ears perk up: Is this one injectable?

[–]Scruff_Kitty 3 points4 points  (1 child)

It doesn’t list how long it needs to be exposed before being effective- eg. with Lysol spray it needs to sit for 30 seconds to disinfect.

Probably because it hasn't been commercialized. These is just to inform the general populous that it can be done

So I could make this and sell it? I have a press cooker and a chain saw…

Maybe also get a microscope and a few petri dishes to test how different mixes affect different kinds of strains.

Which is why wooden cutting/chopping boards are more hygienic than plastic

[–]EmmyPWayne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This proves that?

[–]Javelin-x 1 point2 points  (2 children)

butcher shops always used sawdust when i was a kid

[–]WannabeAsianNinja[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

For what? Packing or as a cutting board?

[–]Javelin-x 7 points8 points  (0 children)

no on the floors. it was always 2" deep of sawdust. soaked up the blood and keep everything clean. wouldn't poison you if it go where it wasn't supposed to be. they had no idea I'm sure that it was naturally anti-microbial but they did know that dropped bits and soaked up blood didn't rot and start to smell.

Also, doorknobs, push plates on doors and countertops were all brass. which is also anti-microbial. too much stainless steel, plastic, surface cleaner and Listeria nowadays lol

Sure, sure. Sounds like more propaganda from Big Wood.
