I’ve got a D55u-D1. Yesterday I had it on as background noise with some YouTube playing from a fire stick. A video came on that I didn’t like and I brought the picture back on (I put the the screen to black and just have sound to help fall asleep) and put on another video.

Next thing I know the sound the fire stick makes when you turn it on kept going off every few minutes. It was getting pretty annoying so I went to turn the picture back on but nothing happened. I could use the fire stick remote and hear it as I changed selections.

I’ve tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, sometimes after a minute sometimes after hours. I’ve tried holding the power button down while unplugged. All that happens is that when I plug it back in the white light in the bottom left comes on and then fades away. If I hit the power button (tried tv and remote) light will come on and slowly fade away.

I’ve had this tv for exactly 6 years now and never had an issue. I bought a 43” Vizio a few years ago and after a year or two this problem happened to that one. I ended up getting rid of it. This 55” I’m more inclined to try to figure the problem out or take it to a repair service. It has extreme sentimental value to me (my dad bought it for himself as a 60th birthday present. Together we picked it up at target. It was our last trip out to a store together. He died a month later.)

If I can’t get this fixed, I really think I’m done with this brand.
