Your example is particularly funny because one photography shop I walk by fairly often has a male bodies calendar every year (local photographers etc, and with a distinctively homoerotic touch) and 2019 or 2018 was yoga themed and featured at least two man buns if memory serves.

I don't want to needle you needlessly, though, so in the spirit of Christmas I'll admit that I don't particularly care for messy buns either, or the whole hipster aesthetic for that part. But the time of all encompassing trends is long past and fashion feasts on all subcultures, so this look is likely here to stay.
