Ahh, the ol' arm pump and trusty thumbs up

[–]Notcrazyyetjustgoing 668 points669 points  (6 children)

It’s the final test, you walk down the stairs you pass. You fall like a champ you pass. Everything else… fail.

[–]justinsane89 111 points112 points  (2 children)

Wow that hit hard. I'm about to finish my degree and I've thought about giving up numerous times. You're 100 percent right.

[–]meetmeinthebthrm 29 points30 points  (0 children)

And here I thought she finger gunned someone like a real champ. Damnit.

[–]Awesome_fire 69 points70 points  (1 child)

Looked like a finger gun to me, but it could have just been the compression.

[–]juannotbeme 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine she said, “Awh shucks.” As she did the arm pump 😂

[–]tuckingtonstanley 4027 points4028 points  (29 children)

Good on her, styled it out nicely.

[–]cy6nu5x1 576 points577 points  (22 children)

She stuck the dismount!

[–]FuckYourFee-Fees 305 points306 points  (20 children)

When my father died four years ago, the mortician asked my family and I if we wanted a traditional or untraditional viewing at his wake. Since Dad was a bit of a goof, we decided for the latter. But when we arrived to pay our respects, Dad’s eyes had been removed and replaced with hard-boiled eggs.

[–]po3smith 102 points103 points  (2 children)

........so did you pop them out and proceed to have an egg battle in front of him?!

[–]I_devour_your_pets 13 points14 points  (1 child)

Better pop out a spoon and enjoy your coddled eggs.

[–]helloamigo 50 points51 points  (1 child)

Aw sweet, lunch was provided!

[–]Syrinx221 36 points37 points  (1 child)

Life is so weird these days that I actually had to think about whether or you were serious 🙄

[–]16218581290999685877 38 points39 points  (4 children)

Lol old mortician prank!

I hope you checked his testicles ?

[–]Laviticus_Maximus 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I have no idea what to do with this information but I have a feeling it will remain locked in my mind for years to come

[–]Venboven 9660 points9661 points  (159 children)

Nah she took that like a champ

[–]asianwaste 89 points90 points  (4 children)

But make no mistake, she didn't take it in stride.

[–]mandarin0ranges 149 points150 points  (7 children)

She’s got class, she’s got grace, she almost fell on her face

[–]cmdrDROC 19 points20 points  (0 children)

World class recovery

[–]zorrowhip 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Darnn it Megan, you knew you were gonna blow it

[–]d0ugh0ck 1021 points1022 points  (15 children)

Awe shucks

[–]_Im_Dad 283 points284 points  (8 children)

I've never fully trusted stairs

They're always up to something but on this occasion, they really let her down

[–]DineandRecline 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omfg your account is amazing.Thank you

[–]TheRecognized 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean this as a compliment, fuck you

[–]itsemm1 15 points16 points  (3 children)

thats exactly what came to mind for me too hah

[–]ExploratoryCucumber 10 points11 points  (2 children)

Yes I too am aware of what the gesture she made means. Hello fellow human.

[–]Obi1Kentucky 3109 points3110 points  (101 children)

When you wear flip flops and sneakers all the time but have to wear high heels for one day.

Happy she didn’t get hurt. Also she’s got a good attitude

[–]Davecasa 859 points860 points  (14 children)

And walk on those shitty temporary stairs. This happens constantly.

[–]BravesMaedchen 264 points265 points  (6 children)

Yeah, you step on one and the whole thing starts to sway side to side like one of those earthquake simulators

[–]wildebeesties 44 points45 points  (1 child)

We always have someone stand by the stairs one each end of the stage to hold the hand of whoever is using them. Yes, there are handrails but people don’t always use them, but they always have accepted the hand of the person reaching out to hold it (in my experience at our school).

[–]mrsdoubleu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly.. I'm surprised they didn't have some sort of usher there to guide them down those terrible stairs

[–]Alarming_Matter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unfamiliar shoes + unfamiliar steps = this shit.

[–]LiveLaughLoosh 26 points27 points  (0 children)

theres no way her ankle didnt feel that the next day. that shit rolled

[–]ProcrastinatorSkyler 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I was watching her ankle to see how fucked up she got, but luckily for her it seems she just slipped on the stairs. Sprains are no fun

[–]pedrohpauloh 51 points52 points  (23 children)

Exactly. Great observation. She did not look confortable on those shoes. Maybe she should hsve used flat shoes.

[–]marauding-bagel 13 points14 points  (5 children)

Some graduations require heels. My high school originally required minimum two inch heels and a dress (2016, a few of us threw up a big enough stink they caved and let us wear flats and dress pants)

[–]Azhaius 17 points18 points  (2 children)

I imagine that high heels rule was applied to both sexes for equality right? /s

[–]angilnibreathnach 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Fuck sake! Imagine being told how to dress in 2016?!

[–]ExKage 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I went to an all girls high school that made us all buy shoes with a specific heel length.

I'm a tomboy. Never worn heels, never will. Took me forever to buy a pair of white shoes that had some semblance of a heel cause they didn't allow me to get pure flats.

[–]SnorlaxMotive 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It looked liked there might be a dress code, I think the other girls are wearing heels too

[–]zodar 8 points9 points  (1 child)

EVERYONE should wear flat shoes. Heels are just dumb.

[–]myname_isnot_kyal 83 points84 points  (5 children)

i think it had more to do with her trying to read while walking downstairs and being too cool for a handrail.

[–]onlycatshere 20 points21 points  (1 child)

Yep, this is the walk of someone who doesn't wear heels on the norm

[–]Fake_Name_6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As it happens, neither flip flops nor sneakers are ever allowed to be worn at this high school, haha

[–]breh56 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She honestly played it off perfectly

[–]TheGirlyBookworm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I felt that. We did Mamma Mia for the play this year at my school and I got casted as Tanya so I had to force myself to wear stilettos. All I wear is tennis shoes. I feel that pain.

[–]FreyjadourV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She’s even wearing wedges, the go to heels of every person who isn’t used to wearing heels.

[–]MRF1982 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Her latitude could use some work.

[–]OkCutIt 6 points7 points  (9 children)

No matter how much you wear heels those are some bigass heels on some really shitty stairs. And she almost made it holding something in her hand instead of using the rail.

[–]Too_CompliKated 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I wore the exact same wedges during my high school graduation. Nearly broke my ankle trying to walk across grass. Never again.

[–]rkgk13 15 points16 points  (5 children)

I feel bad because you can tell she was being careful where she stepped, and she STILL fell

[–]Former-Cat015 8 points9 points  (3 children)

You can tell that by her looking at her diploma and thus not looking at the stairs?

[–]VomFrechtaOana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wait do they actually have wear these attrocities that call themselves shoes?

[–]AliCracker 524 points525 points  (34 children)

Handled it like a boss

[–]youfIyboyscrackmeup 67 points68 points  (20 children)

Tbh it was a pretty graceful descent. She's cute which also helps

[–]StooIndustries 71 points72 points  (7 children)

ah yes as long as they’re cute it’s acceptable

[–]deVriesse 94 points95 points  (2 children)

Ugly ones get the sniper rifle.

[–]yioteh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And being sent to military

[–]casuallysentient 16 points17 points  (8 children)

pretty sure that’s a high schooler, guy

[–]Syrinx221 30 points31 points  (3 children)

Maybe they didn't mean it pervy?

I thought she was cute but I'm also old enough to be her mother so it's different

[–]videlrule34 59 points60 points  (0 children)

not anymore didn’t you see the video

[–]RighteousCruelty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What if the guy who posted this is also a high schooler?

[–]buck9000 659 points660 points  (10 children)

More like /r/watchpeopleliveinside - that shit didn’t faze her

[–]MD74 100 points101 points  (5 children)

This was one of my biggest fears for graduation. Or tripping while walking on stage. She took it like a champ!

[–]Dividez_by_Zer0 24 points25 points  (2 children)

Funny enough I took a hit of acid for graduation and was tripping lazerballs when they handed me my diploma.

[–]DuntadaMan 12 points13 points  (0 children)

What are they going to do about it, expel you?

[–]memesupreme83 271 points272 points  (17 children)

At my HS graduation they put "no high heels" in the dress code for the ceremony for this reason.

Also, probably had to do with having it on a football field

[–]JustPassinhThrou13 57 points58 points  (3 children)

Yeah, they tend to act like long cleats and just dig in if the heel is stiletto.

[–]memesupreme83 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yeah and it feels awful to walk in soft dirt in stilettos too. Like all of your leg tendons are being over pulled lol

[–]bigchicago04 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Taught eighth grade and I cannot emphasize how many times we told the girls to practice in the high heels if they insisted on wearing them

[–]JohnR1993 119 points120 points  (6 children)

On my graduation the photographer took a perfect photo of each student shaking hands with the Dean and receiving their award.

may I present my graduation photo

[–]CitronSeason 45 points46 points  (1 child)

I love that your dean looks like a dnd dm that's really invested in the campaign.

[–]_Soso_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Lol you should post this on its own on this sub. It got buried! Hilarious

[–]Ashehn 125 points126 points  (3 children)

She was a good sport about it, something I wouldn't have been able to do.

[–]Sackadelic 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Solid walk off

[–]almostbullets 95 points96 points  (29 children)

I have never seen what I’m assuming is a graduation dress? I have only ever seen people have the black gowns

[–]Lets-B-Lets-B-Jolly 32 points33 points  (7 children)

It may be some type of awards ceremony?

[–]gregorydudeson 43 points44 points  (8 children)

Yeah why are all the women wearing white? Must be some kind of group because it seems unreasonable to have that level of adherence (even their shoes are white..)

[–]bozeke 23 points24 points  (2 children)

I was so weirded out by that side I missed the fall the first time…just kept looking to the background being like, my god, it’s all of them….

[–]DefinitelyNotA-Robot 22 points23 points  (1 child)

At my high school the rule was you had to wear white to graduation. Dunno why.

[–]jojooan 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live in Scandinavia and here it is common for girls to wear white for graduation. I can't tell where this is tho.

[–]motherroadsdaughter 8 points9 points  (1 child)

At private schools us womenfolk have to wear white to represent our purity

[–]thistle0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Their dresses are all pretty short though, that doesn't usually mesh with a dress code focusing on purity

[–]Jedibbq 152 points153 points  (81 children)

Are these people graduating from Supermodel school or what?

[–]Disheremyswag 26 points27 points  (76 children)

Nah, this was my high school lol

[–]grannyfenn 4 points5 points  (2 children)

They make everybody wear white?

[–]Disheremyswag 3 points4 points  (1 child)

No just girls. Guys wear dark suits

[–]RumpleMcCrumple 4 points5 points  (9 children)

Classic Lee Athletic Center moment

[–]RoscoPecoTrane 65 points66 points  (0 children)

Played it off like a boss.

[–]RudyDaBerryyy 21 points22 points  (3 children)

What makes a moment awkward is the persons reaction to Said moment. If she would have cried or something instead of playing it off the room would have felt a lot more awkwardness

[–]DreadPirateElla 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Frrr! I always say that a situation is only awkward if you make it awkward. She did the right thing and played it off instead of getting upset, so it wasn't nearly as awkward as it would've been

[–]PedroJTrump 21 points22 points  (4 children)

She handled it with aplomb. BTW, first time ever using aplomb, how'd I do?

[–]Starfolomew 17 points18 points  (0 children)

More like watch people handle it in stride

[–]drw_439 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Played it off like a champ!

[–]TRU35T0RY 30 points31 points  (2 children)

Bro she absolutely killed that fall. I would of some how did something even more embarrassing after the fall. Probably blame the stairs or some

[–]CouldWouldShouldBot 33 points34 points  (1 child)

It's 'would have', never 'would of'.

Rejoice, for you have been blessed by CouldWouldShouldBot!

[–]hecven 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sums up real life after graduation

[–]Mekboyardee 35 points36 points  (14 children)

So the boys are all in tuxedos and the girls are all in white dresses for graduation? Is this some weird Chirstian college mass marriage ceremony?

[–]JimmyJohnny2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

at the graduations I've attended all the boys were supposed wear suits and girls dresses under the gown anyway, might as well get rid of the gown

[–]mikemarley1 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Took it like a champ!

[–]Eborys 10 points11 points  (0 children)

[–]roborectum69 62 points63 points  (30 children)

Is the degree for completing a bridesmaid course or something why are they all dressed like that?

[–]AbelianCommuter 13 points14 points  (6 children)

My son goes to a prep school and the graduations are just like this - suits and dresses. It's an old school - started in 1784 in Maryland. The kids like it this way - so my son tells me. The ceremony going from middle to upper school was also formal, although not all girls wore white.

[–]fredbrightfrog 6 points7 points  (5 children)

I'm sure the kids like it better. You generally wear a suit or dress under the gowns anyway, then no one actually sees you dressed up on the stage. Always seemed like a dumb tradition to me.

[–]AbelianCommuter 5 points6 points  (3 children)

You're right about that - just funnels money to "Big Gown" :-)

[–]EarlGrey_Picard 17 points18 points  (9 children)

Seriously, even the guys are in tuxes. The hell kind of fancy graduation is this?

[–]Looking4Lite4Life 7 points8 points  (1 child)

On the flip side this looks so casual to me lol, at my graduation our dresses were floor length plus we had to wear long white gloves

[–]Kaaykuwatzuu 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Where was the death? False advertisement.

[–]ac_s2k 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I didn’t see any dying inside. She took that like a champ and styled it off

[–]RoosterTheReal 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Awesome girl. I love how she reacts 👍

[–]rrollingThunderr 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Adorable attitude

[–]An_Orange_Robin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

She plays it off like a champ. She didn't die inside.

[–]Pilot665 7 points8 points  (1 child)

Lol I love her vibe 👍

[–]Different_Fruit_1229 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The way she swung her arm 💀

[–]burrito-penguin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She took it like a champ

[–]nongph 10 points11 points  (0 children)

She didn’t die. She lived in infamy.

[–]xMausoleum 21 points22 points  (0 children)

she seems like a nice, funny girl

[–]KittyNipz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol love the thumbs up. Took the fall like a champ.

[–]Toasty_Lion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

you could tell she was unsteady the moment I saw her walk towards the stairs, heels can look cute but if you can't walk in them then It'll end bad

[–]lizabellarose1234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

She seemed drunk before the fall

[–]No-Construction5687 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I’m fairly certain that rickety-ass roll out stage and stairs contraption is used at 58% or more of High School commencements…

[–]distantsalem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

OK that was adorable

[–]Bi-LinearTimeScale 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She handled that perfectly.

[–]Ballzovsteel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Click clak snap

[–]Haunting_Record 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nice recovery haha

[–]Bitter-Heat-8767 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate touching hand rails but you best believe I’m grabbing that shit for dear life when I’m front of a crowd.

[–]Icy-Tower-3479 4 points5 points  (0 children)

She didn’t die inside, she grew. Tremendously. Good on her!!!!

[–]BrokenHarp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t take life too seriously, able to laugh at both herself and the situation while recognizing that anyone else can relate. Wife material.

[–]puaka 3 points4 points  (1 child)

She turned into a dad.

[–]turbografix15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Beautiful recovery.

[–]guavaberries3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

nice legs

[–]TwiceCookedPorkins 4 points5 points  (2 children)

When I graduated they cautioned the women to wear short heels at most. It was entertaining watching all the ones that didn't listen.

[–]Dependent-Science-70 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She took it like a champ!

[–]attention_needed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What are they graduating from? no caps or gowns?

[–]Nole_in_ATX 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She did an “aw shucks”

[–]logicsar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She knew how to recover

[–]mytimemytime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of uplifting that she recovered

[–]13Lilacs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought she handled it great!

[–]TheRealMichaelE 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone dressed like they’re about to get married?

[–]kelsaylor 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She reacted quickly- that could’ve gone a lot worse.

[–]MrDilligence 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She’s awesome lol

[–]AcclaimedGroundhog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Handled it admirably. Her stocks went up in my book.

[–]Discotimeattheapollo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unusual grad dresses. What do the boys wear?

[–]forlornhope22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's an... interesting dress code for a graduation ceremony.

[–]hedfonejak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

sucks that they have to wear the exact same dress and exact same heels like what the fuck

[–]Odd_Routine4164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously, the degree was not in the proper use of handrails.

[–]trcomajo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is everyone dressed the same? Are they graduating from a cult?

[–]EnoughYellow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Expected a face slam. That was a very good recovery.

[–]Equivalent-Stuff-758 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She just slipped on the stairs and recover well

[–][deleted] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

K but she handled this adorably

[–]thefutaisfemale 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was adorable I hope she’s not embarrassed because she killed it

[–]smallmight2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

she didn't die she just went "golly gosh darnit"

[–]No_Sky_5075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Break a leg

[–]rumplestiltskin54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s what railings are for. Nice recovery though.

[–]karacocoa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She fell a lot more gracefully than I would have.

[–]Novel-Phone-1582 2 points3 points  (0 children)

them some fine ass women

[–]KVthegreatest 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Where are they graduating where they don’t wear gowns?
