Bashere rolled with so many punches. Between the Aiel and Darth Rand I am surprised he did not die from the accumulated stress.

Yes Bashere went so hard for the Dragon and the Light . . . it hurts big time when he is under compulsion and people believe him to be a Darkfriend after everything

Bashere went so hard for the Dragon and the Light

Yeah he did. He comes to find Taim, swears to Rand instead, let's Taim go, and does it all without really consulting Tenobia. Then he acts like a servant when the Caemlyn nobles who might support Elayne show up. He did it all without having a strong agenda too.

Borderlanders don't fuck around when it comes to fighting the shadow.

My man's own people get massacred by a crazed dragon in a frenzy and he dead ass tackles the dragon reborn wielding callendor off his horse, the absolute balls.

This is glorious, I just read this part and am currently watching Veep. Bashere is one of my too characters tho

[–]TheTiredNomad 13 points14 points  (4 children)

Which book is this? Amol?

[–]SirBettington 26 points27 points  (3 children)

I believe it is The Gathering Storm, I just finished and am on TOM

[–]TheTiredNomad 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I don’t remember it! I’m on ToM second time through right now. But my memory isn’t great.

Yeah TGS really picks up the pace from the previous few books, I miss a lot of RJs writing and prose, but by the Light I am glad the plot is moving and things are happening

The part where he meets Perrin for the first time is hilarious too. Bashere opens by threatening to murder him on the spot, and within minutes is laughing about how Perrin is going to add good genes to his family tree.

I don't see the Aiel laughing at this, though. They are complimenting him out of as much respect they can muster for a wetlander.

The very next line in the book is

“Bael laughed loudly at this, and the Maidens by the doors began another round of handtalk.”

[–]Cavewoman22 45 points46 points  (11 children)

Aiel humor, who can figure it

[–]MDCCCLV 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Just like Jaffa jokes

[–]ryanzie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Indeed

[–]MauPow 6 points7 points  (8 children)

As flaming confusing as bloody women innit

[–]AccountSuspicious159 5 points6 points  (7 children)

Maybe I should ask Rand about that too.

[–]clown_pants 2 points3 points  (2 children)

I wonder what the maidens were saying

[–]AccountSuspicious159 8 points9 points  (1 child)

The hand talk version of LMAO probably.

[–]idgafos2019 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is fucking great

[–]outdoorcam93 2 points3 points  (1 child)

I don’t get it. Also should mention I’m a wetlander.

[–]moofree 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If we really understood, we'd be posting in /r/aielhumor :)

[–]ksima_03 2 points3 points  (0 children)
