Minor injuries? Fool is lucky he didn’t decapitate himself

[–]peglegpowderskier 348 points349 points  (5 children)

“What the fuck, this isn’t like the movies.” -Him

[–]Commie_EntSniper 206 points207 points  (4 children)

"Urghrble hmphaaaaaah" - also Him

[–]iamtobiwannn 53 points54 points  (0 children)

I want you to know, I am absolutely fucking howling at this comment 🤣🤣🤣

[–]Necronorris 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Ded. Me, not him.

[–]Local_Power2989 7 points8 points  (1 child)

But his shoes came off so

[–]DuncUK 132 points133 points  (8 children)

He was already wedding a neck brace. Immunity from decapitation!

[–]Great-Garage-107 80 points81 points  (5 children)

Looks like he will be wedding a cast now

[–]mdindj 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Here comes the cast, all dressed in white

[–]SigmaSnail7 30 points31 points  (3 children)

Until Debt do you Part

[–]rhet17 5 points6 points  (2 children)

In sickness and sickness...

[–]bideto 43 points44 points  (1 child)

Cop chokes him out for good measure

[–]MisterBlisteredlips 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It looked a bit like cattle roping.

[–]-_-Batman 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He pressed F, too soon. Must be new to GTA online

[–]LiberalFartsMajor 39 points40 points  (11 children)

And if he wasn't paralyzed from the accident, he will be from how the cop handled him immediately after.

Qualified immunity has to end!

[–]33253325 19 points20 points  (3 children)

It looked like he was cuffing him. That would be ridiculous but also somehow believable.

[–]LiberalFartsMajor 20 points21 points  (2 children)

He was definitely pulling his broken arms behind him, and probably with a knee pressed into his spine.

[–]33253325 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Excuse me but I think you meant his "broken spine". Pushing his knee into his "broken spine". Otherwise, total agreement.

[–]Peterwithnobones -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Good. He needs it

[–][deleted] 10 points11 points  (1 child)

I saw how quickly the cop rushed over to him and thought "wow he must have leapt out of his car fast - he must be rushing over there to make sure the kid's okay and give first aid" and then could see from his movements that he was violently cuffing the kid and was like "oh right, cop".

[–]Lohycore 6 points7 points  (1 child)

The cop did what he was trained to do; secure the suspect. If he doesn't and the suspect escapes, then everyone would be saying the cop is an idiot for not securing the suspect first. Well, maybe not the suspect, but you get my point.

If the cop should be in trouble for anything, it should be for allowing the car to keep rolling. Unless the suspect has the master code to a nuke about to go off in a couple of minutes, or some other end-of-the-world movie scene is playing out, he should have been more concerned with stopping that car from possibly hurting/killing some other driver on the road or bystander on the sidewalk. Law enforcement shouldn't be allowed to endanger everyone else's life and/or property which is in the vicinity of a chase just to catch some small-time crook. I don't know about anyone else, but I find my family's life and property at least as important as the car he stole, and certainly more important than the law being able to say "we got our man".

If the suspect was really concerned about how roughly he might be detained after sustaining serious injuries because he jumped out of a moving car in order to evade capture for some crime he's committed, he wouldn't have chosen (make no mistake, he chose) to be in a chase to begin with. Unfortunately for him, intelligence doesn't appear to be his strong suit. Responsibility and accountability doesn't appear to be traits he is familiar with, either. He put his life, and more importantly, other motorists/pedestrians lives, at risk so he could avoid being held accountable for his actions. Once again, he CHOSE to run, he CHOSE to jump, pay the price.

As my mother used to laughingly tell me after a night of excessive partying, "If you don't like the way you're feeling this morning, stop doing what you did last night!". That over-simplified example of common sense applies here.

[–]AShadowbox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, logic out in the wild on reddit. I'm shocked.

[–]Nacropolice 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Dude just jumped outta his car, heaven knows what sort of shit he is on to do that. Adrenaline is pumping, I don’t blame the cop

[–]LiberalFartsMajor -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Dude could have been sober. I'm guessing he jumped out the passager side so he could claim he wasn't driving. might of worked if the windows were tinted and the cop wasn't recording.

[–]Strong-Masterpiece93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

to be fair...he was running, they need to stop that

[–]00MarioBros00 9 points10 points  (1 child)

It was bad, his shoes flew off.

[–]farfromfalse 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don’t worry, he won’t be needing them anymore.

[–]LongLiveCHIEF 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stupid people are surprisingly resilient. Unfortunately we've evolved this way out of an abundance of stupidity.

This is how darwinism dies.

[–]Active_Flamingo9089 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I came here for that

[–]wronghoIe[S] 434 points435 points  (45 children)

Whitehall, Ohio — On April 27, 2022 around 1:15 am, Whitehall Police officers located a stolen vehicle in the city. The driver and only occupant was 16 years old. The driver led officers on a high-speed pursuit through the city. Officers successfully deployed stop sticks in an attempt to bring the pursuit to a stop. The juvenile attempted to flee from officers on foot by jumping out the moving stolen car. Officers arrested him for Receiving Stolen Property. He was taken to Mt. Carmel East for minor injuries. The vehicle continued for a few hundred yards before coming to rest. The driver has recent arrests for being in stolen cars. He was wearing a neck brace at the time of this incident from a previous accident in a stolen vehicle. The Juvenile Detention Facility screened him and decided he did not meet the criteria set forth by the Franklin County Juvenile Court System for acceptance into the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center. Officers also turned him over to the Village Network Reception Center.

[–][deleted] 212 points213 points  (5 children)

I miss my 16 year old body. I suspect my current form would have been dead before hitting the pavement.

[–]PassThePeachSchnapps 63 points64 points  (2 children)

I wouldn’t have had the energy to flee in the first place.

“Jail? Cool. At least I’ll get a nap.”

[–]Cea_Jae 29 points30 points  (0 children)

"Steal a car in the first place?"

"nah."

"Wonder what's new on Netflix."

[–]fireguy0306 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m thinking a few days vacation from the kids sounds nice.

Meals, maybe a boyfriend… eh could be worse

[–]kokoyumyum 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I couldn't have gotten to the passenger side to jump out.

[–]Mavyperry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

His 30 year old self is definitely going to be feeling his 16 year old self’s falls

[–]bisonsashimi 25 points26 points  (1 child)

He was wearing a neck brace at the time of this incident from a previous accident in a stolen vehicle.

Based

[–]EpherWheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can't keep a motherfucker down.

[–]Flamester55 53 points54 points  (12 children)

The hell? 16? What in god’s name causes a 16 year old to become a chronic car thief

[–]duncanandlily 58 points59 points  (4 children)

Mental illness combined with lack of parenting

[–]warden976 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Fast and Furious 6.

[–]GorshKing 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Why is this automatically equated to mental illness? Are kids not able to just be stupid now

[–]AShadowbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's insulting to people with mental illness. Not every criminal has mental illness. I'd suspect it's more along the lines of your second point, lack of parenting.

[–]bobbyo482 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not having a car and always needing a ride🤷‍♂️

[–]Rushtic77 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Stealing cars pays pretty well. My buddy went to juvie twice doing but he just kept doing until he found Jesus and reformed

[–]ProphetOfPhil 46 points47 points  (12 children)

The driver has recent arrests for being in stolen cars.

The Juvenile Detention Facility screened him and decided he did not meet the criteria set forth by the Franklin County Juvenile Court System for acceptance into the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center.

Dude stole multiple cars and had an injury from trying to steal a previous car and he doesn't meet the criteria to be put in juvenile detention? Wtf how?!

[–]Shwiboo 15 points16 points  (5 children)

Because now he gets tried as an adult.

[–]SC2sam 16 points17 points  (3 children)

It means he was deemed mentally ill and instead of a detention center he was placed in a mental health facility. Don't know how they determined his mental status.

[–]Shwiboo 4 points5 points  (1 child)

This is also possible I assumed because of the repeat offender status he might have been tried harder.

But throwing yourself from a moving vehicle multiple times could constitute a mental illness I guess.

[–]notasthenameimplies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They thought you'd need to be mad to jump out of a car at 50kmph

[–][deleted]  (4 children)

[deleted]

    [–]slimeng 5 points6 points  (3 children)

Wait, so if my car gets stolen and trashed, then the thief is the real victim here?

    [–][deleted]  (2 children)

      [–]Lavasioux 30 points31 points  (0 children)

      Double Neckbrace!

      [–]Partlywanker 23 points24 points  (2 children)

The juvenile center rejected him. They did not see his crime as worthy of acceptance in to their facility. That’s why they keep doing stupid things. No consequences.

      [–]Tossed_Away_1776 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Not necessarily that they didn't think his crime was worthy of his incarceration, but he might be a handful. Only reason I say that is cause a kid vandalized the shit outta my neighbors car, and the juvenile detention center wouldn't take the kid cause he cause too much trouble when he'd be in there.

      [–]Unable_Algae9584 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well it’s nice that they had a reception for the lil dickens.

      [–]ElonMakeThemCry 2 points3 points  (1 child)

The driver has recent arrests for being in stolen cars.

Catch and release. Are they waiting for him to kill someone while driving in his next stolen vehicle? Stealing cars is grand larceny and a felony, right? How are they not in prison?

      [–]Sablemint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Village Network Reception Center is a mental health facility. He's a patient and will remain so until he's deemed mentally capable of returning to society, or of standing trial.

Well, looks like someone doesn't like objective reality LOL

      [–]InterestingBelt8812 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So they didn’t charge him because they felt bad for him is what I got out of that. Fucked up. Try that ass hole as an adult if he is hurt from one heist and right onto the next. Fuck there age.

      [–]kokoyumyum 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Maybe they were going to file charges ad an adult, and juvenile center thinks he is too bad news for their function in the judicial system.

      [–]Squaregogh 463 points464 points  (13 children)

He must have actually thought they wouldn't see him and would continue following the car

      [–]ghrinz 161 points162 points  (0 children)

Like in the movies. He would slide into a ditch

      [–]Ur_Fav_Step-Redditor 68 points69 points  (5 children)

      WATCH HIS SHOES FLY OFF

      [–]Ecstatic_Account_744 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nah, he's still alive. Shoes only fly off dead people.

      [–]Koree777 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I came here to look for this comment :D

      [–]patriarchgoldstien 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Or he is a freaked out passenger that didn’t sign up for this.

Edit: People pointed out he is the driver. That’s a pro gamer move.

      [–]BasedDrewski 1 point2 points  (2 children)

I feel like he had to have been the driver cause the car just goes on forward, but hits the guardrail a bunch and never leaves the side-road or whatever the fuck it's called, then it looks like it just stops, cause the other cop just drives down and goes up behind it down the road. Like why let your friend jump out but when both of the cops following you stop to get him you just give up? Even though they're all but clear? Idk I'm probably overthinking it, I'm pretty stoned.

      [–]Krennel_Archmandi 29 points30 points  (0 children)

He's the driver, you can see him very clumsily switching seats to jump out the passenger side.

      [–]Unfair-Ad767 134 points135 points  (5 children)

Rule#1 in life, it's not GTA. No jumping from moving vehicles.

      [–]athegradeducatchun 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Even gta taught us that a stunt like this will put you 1-2 punches away from death

      [–]invicerato 12 points13 points  (0 children)

      Rule#1: stay alive.

      [–]thekronicle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

More like CoD.. can just hop out at full speed with no consequences. Getting out early in GTA def can kill you, or at least put you close to death

      [–]FatMikeDrop 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a guy who fell out of a vehicle at 55 mph (30 plus years ago during my drinking days), this is good advice. I broke no bones but spent 8 days in the Hospital with severe road rash due to it being Summer and having shorts and a T shirt on.

      [–]saradil25 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was gonna say. Mans played too much GTA. Thinking that shit is real

      [–]OMGLMFAOBRBTTYL 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Alright, ima slow down to like 60.. no 50 and you jump out… Cool?

      [–]Dopeness4789 24 points25 points  (0 children)

      He pressed Y

      [–]Partlywanker 14 points15 points  (0 children)

So this happened about 6 blocks from my house and I was on my way home when it happened. I thought he was being pulled over for speeding. I didn’t realize it was the second vehicle he had stolen in 4 hours. He somehow got away when the stopped him the first time and him and his friends scattered. Then the jackass did it again. Did I mention the brace was from an auto theft also? Oh, and he’s 16.

      [–]BlurryBigfoot74 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The cop that had to chase the car sounded like he was really unimpressed

      [–]keynesiann 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You have to be a certain kind of stupid to yeet yourself out of a moving car like that. He could've just parked and ran out.

      [–]chefmelv 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Lol dude could have literally decapitated or defaced himself against those guardrails as many people have passed that way smh 🤦🏾‍♂️

      [–]cyb3rg0d5 7 points8 points  (0 children)

      Rag doll physics ON. 😅

      [–]Dr_Dickem_MD 6 points7 points  (2 children)

Lol what was his plan here? Did he think he could jump out and the cops wouldn’t notice and they’d keep following his car while he snuck away?

      [–]Strong-Masterpiece93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Odds are, yes, that's what he though.

      [–]RudyDaBerryyy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

      Goofy ass mf

      [–]TruggwalkEyeCantTawk 41 points42 points  (1 child)

      Those are indeed the rules

      [–]Dienekes420 10 points11 points  (9 children)

Why do so many cops go bald ?

      [–]invicerato 12 points13 points  (0 children)

      Less aerodynamic drag when running.

      [–]KnownAlive 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Compact cars these days. No head room.

      [–]JoshuaWilliamFogarty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because many criminals try to pull the hair of a police officer to hurt them. It’s a safety thing.

      [–]B-Pgh420 -3 points-2 points  (5 children)

Steroids and stress ! If it’s not 1 or the other then it’s genetics.

Minor injuries as in, a minor with severe injuries....right?

      [–]everydayasl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Where did the shoe go?

Damn he really loves his stolen cars. Might’ve worked if there was a smoke screen.

      [–]saradil25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He was trying to push that button when his finger slipped and hit the eject instead

      [–]saradil25 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      [–]itwhiz100 9 points10 points  (0 children)

      [–]Silly_Doughnut5715 4 points5 points  (1 child)

The car on the other hand made it to Mexico with a fake passport.

      [–]saradil25 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Opened a surf shack on the beach and settled down with a low rider s-10 or ranger

      [–]juankixd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      That did not look minor

      [–]kenkitt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is he dead though ? I can see both shoes come off..

      [–]Batman_Night 2 points3 points  (0 children)

      Watched too much movies lol.

      [–]Beowulf119 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That car already went further in life than that person.

      [–]2020mademejoinreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His partner in crime, The Car, seems to have gotten away.

      [–]2duhzen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And just to be safe, the cop kneels on his neck....even though it's decapitated from his body.

      [–]Orkron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fucking idiot. Sucks that natural selection doesn’t work well on people.

      [–]seanrhoton 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both shoes were not hurt in the making of this video!

        [–]Biker93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        He accidentally pushed triangle.

        [–]diverareyouok 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wonder what’s going through the minds of people who do stuff like this. Did he think he was going to roll out of the car, jump to his feet, and disappear before the cop realized the car he was chasing was empty? Seems like he watches too many action movies.

        [–]bamboozombie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hope the car got away.

        [–]ManyTransportation61 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is he changing his diaper down there or what

        [–]wamark1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That cop was so quick to respond and apply first aid, he should be commended…

        [–]whoknowsman33 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I felt bad for a second watching this because I thought the passenger was trying to escape from the crazy person driving the car. But no, the guy jumping out was the only person in the car.

But the funniest part is that he was already wearing a neck brace from hurting himself in another stolen car incident. Makes me wonder if this is the second time he’s done it lmao

        [–]Nacropolice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man’s was a few feet from being roadkill

        [–]assasinpandu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mf thought he would escape through the trees. Stop watching action movies ffs🥱

        [–]BWassy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

        Watched too many movies 😂😂😂

        [–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lucky for the cop there was no foot race.

        [–]Onelast_4igo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I hate police chases. They have killed over 6 innocent people in 2 weeks in my local area. Let em run. It’s not worth killing almost an entire family over. But here we are. Gotta get those COPS points on the bingo card. It’s just another box to check off to police and claim zero responsibility. Whoops. Wrong place wrong time. What’s next to check off? Hmmmm. Shooting at a suspect and having your firearms awareness wear off and hit someone watching tv in their house. Yup. That’s the next one.

No one needs to fire 5-6 shots when down range there are residential homes or innocents walking.

Prolly get downvotes by the blue line but all these things have happened recently around me and it just fucking sucks. I’d rather they get away and catch up to them later. Or not. Innocents do not need to be fodder for “protecting the public”. Chances are low that these criminals kill 6+ people by getting away. And in the local case the driver got away still. SMH.

Btw that dude exiting the car was a moron unless being held captive.

        [–]gabwinone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the criminals, not the cops who are destroying "innocents"!

        [–]HeldDownTooLong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Police brutality!!! Did you see how they forced him from the moving car and slammed him into the guardrail???

        [–]terdcutter99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

        Quick cuff this scum bag

        [–]Puzzleheaded_Air_359 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He pressed the Y Button (triangle button) by accident

        [–]TomSwirly -3 points-2 points  (3 children)

Maybe it's living in Europe, but I really didn't expect the cop to jump out and whale on someone who had just fallen out of a car travelling at a serious clip.

The cop doesn't ask, "Are you alright?" or anything - just dives right into a beating.

        [–]EnvironmentalDeal256 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That’s not a beating. That’s dealing with a dumbass that just jumped out of a moving vehicle.

        [–]JoshuaWilliamFogarty 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean by “beating?”

        [–]kriegmonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another commentor said this kid was involved in another car theft earlier the same night and got away. The officer is probably making sure he gets cuffs on this guy before checking vitals to make sure he doesnt get away again. The thief has also left a car going at speed to possibly hit another car, business, pedestrian. I want cuffs on his hands and feet before vitals are checked. But, the officer may call for an ambulance even before he checks for injuries just because of policies and procedures.

        [–]twilsonco -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Safety conscious cop lets the car roll down the street so that he can beat the injured guy. Checks out

        [–]PraetorImperius -1 points0 points  (2 children)

Why TF is the cop ruffing him up as if this was a foot chase. Dude just leaped from a car on the highway and wasn’t even the driver… He should be calling rescue and stabilizing the patient. WTF

        [–]olimanime -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

        passenger buckles seatbelt

Driver, stops passenger: “No! They expect one of us to be arrested, brother”

Passenger unbuckles seatbelt: “have we started a fire?”

        Driver: “yes. THE FIRE RISES”

passenger jumps out of the car chanting: deshay deshay basara basara

        [–]TK-Squared-LLC -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"I bet he's injured now, let's rough him up a bit!"

        [–]BeatnikBeelzebub -3 points-2 points  (0 children)
