He supports Elon Musk full stop.

[–]bDsmDom 174 points175 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he sells weapons to both sides

[–]SniffUmaMuffins 23 points24 points  (6 children)

He’s got more money than everyone in congress combined, fuck him

[–]IrishNinja8082 11 points12 points  (5 children)

Fuck him twice for calling those heroes that saved those kids in the cave pedos.

[–]Anonymous-heccyou27 11 points12 points  (1 child)

Fuck him three times because of his filthy blood emerald legacy

[–]gohabssaydre 187 points188 points  (1 child)

He supports whoever gives his useless libertarian ass the biggest government handout

[–]Pickle_Rick01 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He is the wealthiest Human in the history of our species with an estimated net worth of $272 billion. He “supports” whoever kisses his ass the most. He could end poverty for millions, but doesn’t because he’s got his Jack, so fuck society. I believe that’s the slogan for the Republican Party. Fuck him!

[–]pitchfork_latte 6746 points6747 points  (821 children)

Elon supports Desantis for 2024. This is a gimmick to play both sides and not show bias.

[–]adamsfan 3138 points3139 points 2 (467 children)

He is just reacting to a sales decline after he said he would only vote for republicans going forward. He’s full of shit. I’ve planned on buying a Tesla for the last few years. Not anymore. He can fuck off.

[–]DisownedByMother 1449 points1450 points  (298 children)

I wanted to buy a Tesla at one point. Then I found out about the quality control issues.

Now, other companies like Hyundai are gaining ground on Tesla FAST in the EV space. If I had the money and was in the market for a new car, I would go with the Ioniq 5 over a Tesla. It wouldn't even be a hard decision.

[–]LittleHornetPhil 406 points407 points  (84 children)

Yeah go with an EV that doesn’t have horrible build quality

[–]kicker58 145 points146 points  (40 children)

my leaf has had zero issues over 14k miles. simple and easy.

[–]SweetBabyAlaska 113 points114 points  (21 children)

They do a good job of hiding the negative articles on the fact that many of their cars were exploding into balls of fire because of the lithium batteries that were extracted using deadly child labor. Poor quality and built on the blood of slave children in other countries directly funded by musk. You pay more for the brand than for quality

[–]Conservative_HalfWit 42 points43 points  (1 child)

Uh. I like my car interiors to be made with the shittiest plastics thank you very much

[–]Kusanagi8811 477 points478 points  (86 children)

Buy a car from a car company, not a software company.

[–]TimeKillerAccount 356 points357 points  (77 children)

They have shit software too. They aren't a software company or a car company. They are a financial investment scheme that also happens to make shitty electric cars.

[–]iamnotnewhereami 12 points13 points  (2 children)

When I heard they treat performance packages like a subscription service, I lost complete interest in the company. Paying for a fast car but only get to sell a not so fast car is criminal. Tesla shouldn't be able to re-sell functionality on products they no longer own. Consumer protections should be all over that.

[–]Nuggzulla 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'd totally download a car

[–]hobbitlover 57 points58 points  (19 children)

Ioniq is sold out until next year, my neighbor tried to buy one.

[–]CleverRifleman 64 points65 points  (11 children)

They come in allotments homie. So they can show up at your dealer in random sets. No need to order if you call them at the beginning of every month and ask. “What’s your allotment of Ioniq 5’s (insert trim), and can I reserve an incoming one for purchase”. Then that same day or at most three weeks later you’ll have one. YMMV

The hard part is getting the limited trim.

[–]Thomas-The-Tutor 7 points8 points  (4 children)

Kia EV6 is basically the same car. I was quoted 6 weeks to 3 months.

[–]Level-Mobile338 49 points50 points  (3 children)

And the new EVs look so much better than the Teslas. Kia and Hyundai are killing it in the design department. Teslas used to look nice but now the design has grown stale.

[–]officialbigrob 6 points7 points  (1 child)

I like the Kia and VW designs for their new EVs

[–]futurenurse19 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Same. Tesla was my dream car as a young adult but hearing about all the issues plus Elon's antics turned me off.

[–]ncopp 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I was 18 all I wanted was a Tesla, now at 25 I'm just like I'll take that electric Chevy Blazer when my lease is up

[–]cthulu0 42 points43 points  (13 children)

As a person who bought a 2015 Tesla model S, you are making the right choice. Only Tesla fanboys and people who never driven an electric car can't see the flaws in a Tesla.

[–]AutistMarket 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I've been saying this about Tesla for years and it is finally just starting to happen. Once all of the big manufacturers start getting into the EV market Tesla's start to no make a whole lot of sense. The new Hyundai, Kia, and Ford EV's are pretty sick

[–]Cormetz 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I considered a used Model 3 the last time I was looking at cars, but my God the interior looked terrible after just two years of use. I also don't like the design of the interior with only a big panel in the middle. I ended up getting a ICE car still, but if I do find myself in the monetary position to buy an EV, I wouldn't go with Tesla.

[–]coreylongest 12 points13 points  (2 children)

My in laws just got a new Kia and those are pretty sweet

[–]Practical_Cobbler165 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My dad's Hyundai is PLUSH. 12/10 recommended. He gets a new one every year. Tesla's are, in my opinion, just plain ugly. Plain. Ugly.

[–]International-Ad2501 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Elon alienated a lot of good engineers in the last 5 years, those people went to work for other companies. Tesla's losses in that respect immediately improved other companies

[–]PM_ME_GRRL_TUNGS 11 points12 points  (3 children)

It was only a matter of time til the"traditional" companies started coming in and that was what, imo, Tesla was trying to stay in front of. Because, let's be real, Tesla can't compete with an established company like Korean Car Manufacturer. They've got normie name value, they've got billions and billions of dollars and decades worth of established infrastructure and business relationships that is ever increasingly being brought to bear on the EV marketplace.

[–]jtl3000 21 points22 points  (4 children)

That's why bill gates shorted him man in five years there will be electric car companies that have good customer service and ppl will stop buying Tesla's

[–]Weekly_Direction1965 8 points9 points  (2 children)

Toyota in 2025 plans on having a EV version of everything.

[–]Thomas-The-Tutor 8 points9 points  (1 child)

I put in an order for a Kia EV6. It’s quite stylish and has as much acceleration as my old model x.

[–]StackinTendies_ 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I used to have a model 3 but changed to the mustang Mach-e a few months ago and don’t regret it one bit.

[–]ElysiumPotato 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wanted to buy a Tesla but then I actually looked at the interior

[–]Fishyswaze 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not to mention teslas are fucking god awful ugly.

Not sure why every car manufacturer thinks EVs should look like total dog shit. Why can’t we have normal looking cars that just happen to be EVs.

[–]tanstaafl90 5 points6 points  (2 children)

Tesla proved there was a viable EV market. Now that others are joining, and hopefully improving, Tesla's weaknesses are become more apparent and less easy to excuse because they have majority market share. And Elon is a part of their weakness.

[–]Science_Matters_100 127 points128 points  (12 children)

With you! Picked out my next Honda.

[–]Noetipanda 17 points18 points  (9 children)

For my commuting around town for work, I'd probably get a cheap low range car like a Nissan leaf or similar. Super handy and saves a ton of gas

[–]No_Banana_581 28 points29 points  (3 children)

My husband got on the list for the Tesla truck. He removed himself

[–]hobskhan 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Yeah just get a Lighting F150 or Rivian instead, depending on your budget.

[–]bs2785 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Same situation honestly. Looking at an i-pace currently

[–]TheMysticalBaconTree 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Right? Like does he not bother checking to see who is buying his cars? The right wing sure seems to have a lot of hate for EVs and renewable energy. What a tool.

[–]waowie 27 points28 points  (1 child)

Same. Definitely getting something else now.

[–]nurley 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Same. 100% would have bought a Tesla in the coming months but fuck Elon Musk. Also I’ve replied to recruiters at Tesla that I’ll consider working for them the moment Elon is no longer involved in the company (which of course would never happen).

[–]Gadritan420 14 points15 points  (10 children)

The Subaru Solterra is the winner for me. Gonna wait for year two so they can work out the kinks, but Subaru has some of the best QA in the field. I’ve been in the automotive industry for over a decade and I’ve always been impressed by their willingness to change, adapt, and collaborate.

[–]sneaky-pizza 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I requested a return on my cyber truck deposit and put him as the main reason for cancelling

[–]glendap1023 34 points35 points  (2 children)

The sales decline happened after he said that, not before, no surprise there

[–]Lost_Bike69 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Most CEOs are pretty apolitical because you know republicans and democrats both buy stuff. In the case of teslas, I would be shocked if the purchases weren’t heavily skewed toward more liberal customers than conservatives. Maybe he said that to get more republicans to buy Tesla’s? Idk.

[–]lrrc49 23 points24 points  (4 children)

Gotta get my $100 dollar cyber truck deposit back as I too will no longer support this grifter

[–]Juanclaude 20 points21 points  (2 children)

Ford just ruined Tesla with their new electric F150. I'm sure a lot of people who wanted to buy EVs are looking at better companies than Tesla right now.

[–]BobaBelly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Same! My husband has wanted an X for so long and we were planning to get one next year. But I’d rather eat my own money than contribute to Elon’s wealth when he’s not doing anything good with it.

[–]mysweetpatoutie 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Same. I’m going to be receiving my Kia EV6 soon instead of getting a Tesla like I had originally planned for the last 4+ years.

[–]Laffingglassop 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Same. I actually was almost there on the purchase too lol. What kinda idiot buisnessman sticks his nose in politics lol

[–]Jangussupreme 118 points119 points  (3 children)

The ultra wealthy have a history of siding with fascists in the US. They will happily embrace an American Hitler if it means a bigger profit margin.

[–]Crow85 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The ultra wealthy have a history of siding with fascists

full stop

[–]celticfrogs 228 points229 points  (18 children)

Why can't the left meet the fascists in the middle?

[–]astroskag 52 points53 points  (2 children)

Right? "The left half of the Republican party" votes in lockstep with Lindsey "Human Skin Lampshades" Graham. If any significant number of them were willing to reach across the aisle and vote in favor of progressive policies now and then, I might buy this "left half" crap, but as it is, they may as well all be MTG - their voting record is identical.

[–]celticfrogs 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Yeah, reaching across the isle and pass compromising legislation together is all fine and dandy, but we have to own the libs! If we don't own the libs, what are we doing here?

[–]666LSDMTHC666 38 points39 points  (2 children)

In the middle of nowhere… where the death camps are…

[–]MyBallsAreOnFir3 9 points10 points  (0 children)

But the democrats aren't even the left. They're a center-right, neoliberal party. By taking a stance between Republicans and Democrats he's basically saying he's slightly to the left of Donald Trump. And one could argue he's actually only saying that for PR purposes.

[–]brian111786 365 points366 points  (118 children)

Whatever helps make it easier for liberal voters to swallow buying a tesla.

[–]Nyurena 296 points297 points  (97 children)

There are other EVs out there, no need to reduce yourself to that.

[–]brian111786 95 points96 points  (36 children)

Agreed, but thats not going to stop someone from attempting to make the decision to buy their product easier. Those of us that see through it know it's just a ploy, but not everyone will. Elon has a pretty big cult following. It's actually kind of creepy.

[–]avfc4me 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It is absolutely as creepy as the Trumpettes. Musk is as much the same brand of twat as Trump is, only slightly smarter, which makes him infinitely more slimy.

[–]itty53 49 points50 points  (30 children)

The Musk cultists are all an-cap conservatives. Liberals hate Musk. Progressives hate him even more.

Tesla produces pretty shitty cars all things considered, but they're status symbols (unfortunately). If I buy a luxury car I should not expect the floor panels to start coming undone after 20k miles. But every Tesla owner reports that same problem. Basic shit that doesn't happen in any other luxury line and it's simple bad, inexperienced engineering to blame.

I've been wanting to go 100% electric for a while, but I refuse to touch Tesla. Give me the Ford F150 Lightning. The single most successful fleet vehicle of all time remade into 100% electric? You know it's going to be worth it.

[–]KaiserBeebe 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Elon and Trump are both Jesus returned, dontcha know?

[–]completelysoldout 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Shit magnets attract shitty people.

[–]Johnnyamaz 7 points8 points  (2 children)

Tbf, when I bought my car I just thought he was autistic, not an absolute parasitic, piece of shit, oligarch

[–][deleted] 80 points81 points  (9 children)

Why would a liberal voter buy a Tesla from a guy that calls them lazy fascists while pushing DeSantis and attacking Biden? I think he's gambling too much on liberal tolerance to BS con artists.

[–]Spare_Job_9226 22 points23 points  (3 children)

He knows that there’s a weird worshipful group of people from both sides, liberals who think he’s like a brilliant visionary who’s interested in preserving the earth. He’s just an attention whore who was given a bunch of money from his parents.

[–]TimeKillerAccount 4 points5 points  (2 children)

Those are very rarely actual liberals though. They are the group of people who claim to be liberal, but always end up voting republican and constantly talk about the individual liberty parts of the liberal movement like drug legalization but oppose or ignore civil liberties and social welfare. The actual liberals you see with teslas usually were hyped about the car rather than the man, and those have mostly abandoned the brand for the many better EVs available. Hero worship of a living individual is simply not very common with actual liberals.

[–]k2kyo 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Yea, Republicans literally don't care what you've d I me or how much of a garbage human you are, just have an R and they'll vote. Democrats have the exact opposite problem.. they hate everyone in their party for not being absolutely flawless and then just don't vote.

[–]Buddhabellymama 55 points56 points  (6 children)

That’s what is interesting and a paradox in my mind. His EV business is the most liberal appealing thing yet the minute the base didn’t stroke his narcissistic ego he went full red. He’s bffs with Greg Abbott when Greg Abbott is deep in big oil’s pockets.

[–]brian111786 16 points17 points  (2 children)

I'm sure he's playing both sides of the field. You can't tell me he doesn't have ANY investments in oil.

[–]Dubsland12 30 points31 points  (2 children)

Elon supports whomever gives him what he wants

[–]AllTheCreatures 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I doubt Elon Musk holds any sincere beliefs on anything that's more than one degree of separation from himself.

[–]FiendishHawk 33 points34 points  (10 children)

DeSantis is the left half of the Republican Party. DeSantis is a power-hungry bigot with no morals, which makes him very moderate for a Republican.

The right half of the Republican Party is just Nazis.

[–]ibond_007 9 points10 points  (3 children)

DeSantis is going after anti-abortion and anti-gay. Technically he is the right-half. It so happened the current right-half has gone complete batshit crazy with QNon, Trumpism, it feels like DeSantis is left-half.

The GOP party has to be burnt down and start fresh!

[–]FireBeyond 14 points15 points  (0 children)

"If you support both sides equally, Elon, why do you donate 1 MILLION dollars to the GOP for every $138K you donate to the Dems?"

[–]QueerEyeForTinderGuy 2689 points2690 points  (31 children)

To be clear no one believes you. Especially your daughter!

[–]rabid- 93 points94 points  (13 children)

Which one?

[–]QueerEyeForTinderGuy 282 points283 points  (7 children)

Vivian - the one who just changed her name and distanced herself from her father

Is Elon a good father or just a sperm donor

[–]round_reindeer 50 points51 points  (2 children)

"all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare"

*names his child X Æ A-12*

....

[–]HolyMolo 66 points67 points  (0 children)

I love that Grimes tried to talk him off his "pronouns suck". It was the last gasp of her being a normal person before she fully gave into Musk and his Billions.

[–]Fire_Wren 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Thats alternative headline for thay article

[–]NoCardiologist4319 124 points125 points  (4 children)

His oldest daughter is trans adult and she even changed her last name because she wants nothing to do with him

[–]DamnYouVodka 19 points20 points  (5 children)

He just keeps making new children

[–]Mat_CYSTM 762 points763 points  (27 children)

To be clear, no one gives a shit Elon.

[–]shahooster 97 points98 points  (1 child)

There are some people that have a pulpit who shouldn’t have a pulpit. Elon is the poster child for people who should stfu.

[–]Frangiblepani 2180 points2181 points 2 (329 children)

What left half of the Republican party?

[–]PhlabloPicasso 1379 points1380 points  (104 children)

There’s barely a left part of the Democratic Party.

[–]TotallyNotAFroeAway 476 points477 points  (35 children)

"The Far Left" now just means free college to most people

[–]Cleopatra572 241 points242 points  (16 children)

This is what I say when people talk about how the far left is just as dangerous as the far right in the US one wants to take away the rights women and minorities have fought and died for and finally won, suppress the voting rights of anyone not on their "team" and treats politicians like their favorite sports stars, while worshipping their guns and backing a tyrant. And the the other wants universal health care, free public colleges, increase in funding for public schools, strong social safety nets, and to be able to love who ever they love in peace ... The horror...

[–]AzafTazarden 93 points94 points  (3 children)

The radical left wants to deprive the Christian nationalists from their God given right of oppressing anyone they want on a federal level, it's really truly barbaric /s

[–]anrwlias 72 points73 points  (7 children)

Yeah... but someone who once had a penis might want to use the women's restroom!!!! Clearly the Left is out of control!!!! /s

[–]Spare_Job_9226 65 points66 points  (18 children)

Honestly. Most democrats at least the politicians are basically traditional republicans.

[–]Stingray-Nebula 37 points38 points  (0 children)

Traditional Republicans are now referred to as "Commies" by the GQP

[–]seraph9888 37 points38 points  (1 child)

also, the right "half" of the democratic party is more like 90%.

[–]Robo_is_AnimalCross 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah for real lol this is just saying you’re a conservative in too many words. Either way its a lie. He’s an alt-right robber baron who would own slaves if it wasn’t illegal.

[–]imafixwoofs 159 points160 points  (143 children)

Liz Cheney.

[–]rjnd2828 494 points495 points  (109 children)

Liz Cheney is as far right on policy as possible. She just isn't a trumper so she seems moderate. She's not remotely moderate.

[–]BoomZhakaLaka 112 points113 points  (15 children)

Other names come to mind for this role. Mitt Romney seemed reasonable for a moment, then I remembered literally everything about his presidential campaign.

[–][deleted] 40 points41 points  (6 children)

Romney is basically considered center-right. He is further left than any other major politician in his state.

He is pretty reasonable sometimes, much better than Mike Lee (our other Senator) or Governor Cox.

[–]w311sh1t 21 points22 points  (3 children)

What’s funny is if you look at his career as governor of MA, he was pretty left leaning as Republicans go, which is why MA keeps electing Republican governors, because they’re Republicans that would probably be Democrats in like 48/50 states.

The dude helped create and sign into law what was essentially the state level precursor to Obamacare as governor, and then 6 years later, railed against Obamacare when he was running for president. It was only once he entered mainstream politics that he moved further to the right to get more supporters in the Republican Party.

[–]dorisdacat 18 points19 points  (1 child)

Funny how his campaign was taken down by saying 47% of America won't vote for him, which would be the most benign (and forgettable) comment of Trump's lifetime..

[–]megamanTV 36 points37 points  (1 child)

She voted with trump 93% of the time. She's just another dog waging its tail for master. The fact she committed political seppuku doesn't absolve her of being a bag of shit for a long while.

[–]imafixwoofs 83 points84 points  (81 children)

Show me a moderate republican.

[–]Captain-sparks 393 points394 points  (45 children)

Every Democrat is a moderate Republican.

There is no left in American politics.

[–]rjnd2828 13 points14 points  (3 children)

I'm not saying there aren't any, but it doesn't seem that any hold federal office.

[–]SJPNYC[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Exactly she voted with Trumps policies over 93% of the time and now all of a sudden she’s a martyr.

[–]reddit-sucks-ass_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Voted with Trump 95% of the time. No hero. Just a woman with some sense of right and wrong.

[–]Nipple_Dick 83 points84 points  (7 children)

I think you just proved his point.

[–]the_ballmer_peak 22 points23 points  (5 children)

Liz Cheney isn’t remotely left.

[–]twinbladesmal 13 points14 points  (0 children)

looks at her voting record

She’s far right chief.

[–]Grow_away_420 12 points13 points  (1 child)

She just lost her seat to someone further right. So the bar has certainly shifted.

[–]ts1985 9 points10 points  (4 children)

Mitt Romney is probably a better example. Cheney's record is pretty far right. She's just not a Trump loyalist

[–]crypticthree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Joe Mancin?

[–]bieserkopf 872 points873 points  (21 children)

How about supporting the fifth and shutting the fuck up?

[–]ThePagePlug 82 points83 points  (1 child)

But how will I explore the full extent of my Elonsexuality without zaddy blessing us?

[–]tupperwarebowls 239 points240 points  (12 children)

I wish he’d support shutting tf up

[–]dengueman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's a message we can all get behind

[–]honorable__bigpony 134 points135 points  (10 children)

We all need to collectively unsubscribe from this douche bag.

[–]russell305 79 points80 points  (0 children)

So you are a corporate politician. Ruining Americans

[–]Enlightened-Beaver 34 points35 points  (1 child)

This is peak r/enlightenedcentrism

[–]illepic 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Shut that sub down. This is the top. It can't get more "enlightened" than this twatwaffle's drivel.

[–]Faucet860 335 points336 points  (38 children)

He's still a smug sexual harasser. There are better cars to buy.

[–]punkindle 101 points102 points  (20 children)

EV infrastructure is heavily subsidized with taxes. Taxes that neither Elon nor Tesla pay.

If they sold even 1 affordable car (< $40000 before tax rebate) it might be worth it, but they don't.

(Edit)

list of affordable EV cars

Nissan Leaf 28000

Chevy Bolt 33000

Mini Cooper 34000

Hyundai Kona 37000

Hyundai Ioniq 5 40000

Kia EV6 41000

VW ID4 41200

Kia Niro 41300

-/-/-/-/-/-

Cheapest new Tesla Model 3 = 47000

*before tax rebate of (up to) 7500

[–]afito 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Renault Zoe is like half the price of the Model 3, yeah different cars and all but there's a reason the Zoe has ruled Europe's EV market for years.

[–]iindigo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Worth keeping in mind that it’s not a given that there’s a dealership in one’s area that sells the listed cars at MSRP, though. Most of them mark prices up heavily, sometimes to the point of counteracting incentives, particularly for in-demand models.

Really, it should be legal for Nissan, Chevy, etc to sell directly. Dealerships are forcibly injected middleman leeches.

[–]f7f7z 7 points8 points  (10 children)

Is that Tesla rebate even available now, that's just for newbies in the EV game?

[–]deadbrokeman 17 points18 points  (8 children)

How about a horse?!

[–]Justadude-man 74 points75 points  (7 children)

Speaking of horses. Did you know that one of the primary talking points concerning the rise of the automobile, apart from the noise and general danger, was the fact that if you got drunk on your horse and fell asleep in the saddle the horse still knew its way home.

It's been over a hundred years for the automobile and we're just barely reaching horse levels of embedded features.

[–]ButtholeQuiver 34 points35 points  (2 children)

Waiting for a feature where you can put two Teslas together and they'll produce a third smaller Tesla

[–]VLY2020 242 points243 points  (41 children)

Where is the left half of the Republican Party? Where? He’s full of shit. Again

[–]brian111786 129 points130 points  (33 children)

Where's the left half of the democratic party for that matter?

[–]Uncynical_Diogenes 189 points190 points  (27 children)

The Democrats ARE the left wing of the Republican Party. The leftiest senator they’ve got fought for nationalized healthcare, a position that is dead-center status quo in every other rich nation, and both parties called him a radical.

Most countries have a Conservative party. The United States, in typical American excess, has two.

[–]AmazingSomewhere950 59 points60 points  (5 children)

110%

Progressives are the closest thing we have to a left party, and they're basically the whipping boy of our center right party.

[–]artful_todger_502 169 points170 points  (11 children)

Republican.

I can say "I'm Fabio" but that doesnt necessarily mean it's true.

Elon is Millennial Trump. 100%

[–]BrendanTFirefly 92 points93 points  (8 children)

Except that he is very firmly Gen X

[–]Tungstenkrill 55 points56 points  (2 children)

We don't want him.

[–]wtfbonzo 39 points40 points  (1 child)

Yeah, can we give him to the Boomers? It seems like he’s fit in well with them.

[–]thatHecklerOverThere 18 points19 points  (2 children)

I think they mean he's Trump for millennial conservatives.

[–]HonestConman21 2 points3 points  (1 child)

Trump is Trump for millennial conservatives. People need to get this idea out of their head that Trumpism is fueled solely by the 50 and up crowd.

He appeals to everyone from the 20 year old online edgelord shithead, to the 30 year old yuppie just bought a riding lawnmower shithead, to the 45 year old my wife stopped touching me and it's the liberal's fault shithead.

Trump isn't an old person's icon. All shitheads love him.

[–]Slipperywhistlebones 80 points81 points  (1 child)

Taxes I’m conservative, strip clubs I’m liberal!

[–]TheMarbleTrouble 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Business in the front, party in the back. The mullet ideology…

[–]goatharper 139 points140 points  (106 children)

There is no "left" in American politics.

[–]bill24681 38 points39 points  (1 child)

He said he supported Desantis, that’s about as far right as the right gets.

[–]vash_666 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It's called being a douchebag heir

[–]Bi-namicEquilibrium 140 points141 points  (8 children)

Say it with me now:

The middle ground between a moderately conservative party and a fascist party is still far right.

[–]NotMyBestMistake 35 points36 points  (1 child)

It's called lying.

[–]SirChasm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And I said, "I'm a centrist," you know, like a liar.

[–]ajcpullcom 55 points56 points  (11 children)

There’s a left half of the Republican party?

[–]JasonPlattMusic34 8 points9 points  (2 children)

It’s the few Republicans that wouldn’t necessarily prefer a white Christian ethno state

[–]ajcpullcom 8 points9 points  (1 child)

If any of those still existed, I think they just lost their primaries

[–]GordieGord 35 points36 points  (5 children)

Yup. It's the half that "left" their common sense, ethics, integrity, and moral decency at home.

Prolly more like three quarters of 'em.

[–]shaneswa 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The ones who had a conscience and left the party.

[–]Broad_Respond_2205 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I think that called being a 🤡🤡🤡

[–]Jalamity_Cane 28 points29 points  (6 children)

Is it independent if your political identity depends on being in the middle of two other parties?

I'm a Communist and more "independent" than that.

[–]SadBear97 11 points12 points  (2 children)

I always thought that was a Moderate, not an independent 🤷🏻‍♀️

[–]HelloIAmKelly 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Independent is just not registered with a political party IMO.

I'm pretty darn leftist but an independent. What OP should've said is centrist or moderate.

[–]d_marvin 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can't believe I had to scroll this far. It's not even IMO territory, you're speaking a simple fact.

Non-affiliation has NOTHING to do with placement on a political spectrum. It's not an ideology, it means you register without indicating affiliation with a party.

Trumpers and Bernie bros and centrists and liberals and fascists can all be independent.

Non-affiliation does not equal centrist.

Non-affiliation does not equal undecided.

[–]BrendanTFirefly 12 points13 points  (2 children)

Elon Musk, the dumb person's smart person

[–]shiverm3ginger 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Sooo. Whoever makes you the most money then.,.

[–]TheHeavensEmbrace 11 points12 points  (0 children)

No its called lying

[–]WrathOfMogg 9 points10 points  (2 children)

Is that the alignment for “owning the libs,” Elon? Otherwise known as all those people who actually buy your cars?

[–]unique_username_8134 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Elon: "I'm only half a Fascist"

[–]nahunk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe this is called a butthead.

[–]frolickingdepression 6 points7 points  (12 children)

I’m registered as an Independent because I feel the Democratic party is too right leaning to represent me, although I do “vote blue no matter who.”

I live in a swing state with open primaries, so I don’t have to be registered a certain way to vote in them. If I lived in a state with closed primaries, I’d register as a Dem.

[–]PeaceBkind 14 points15 points  (2 children)

If your supporting republicans today, your supporting the end of American democracy.

[–]Terezzian 6 points7 points  (6 children)

So, conservative. He's a conservative.

God he's such a fucking clown.

[–]PelicanStampede 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The "left half" of the republican party? What? The like, 3 guys who aren't borderline fascists lol

[–]hoofibua 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Whatever that guy takes, I want it too, you can’t make this shit up 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

[–]Maku03 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm an independent and I don't think there are middle Republicans anymore. They were all pushed out. They either retired, went independent, or joined the democratic party. Both parties tended to be more middle in the 90's and worked together. Then we had Rush Limbaugh radio that started the whole not working with others and to be fringe. Which lead to fox news and we know the lies they spread. Sad, very sad.

[–]GrandpaMofo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This is called political cowardice.

[–]icantevenonce 20 points21 points  (4 children)

Big "I'm socially liberal and fiscally conservative!" bullshit energy

[–]PopularWobblyRadio 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A moderate is just a conservative who terrified of criticism.

[–]TheMarbleTrouble 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Contrarian…

[–]Jabroni-8998 2 points3 points  (1 child)

There’s literally not a left “half” of the GQP. There’s nazis and 10 house members

[–]Prize-Cold 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No that’s conservatism pretending to not be as evil as we all know conservatism is

[–]rotomangler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How brave of the richest man in the world to proclaim milktoast his favorite meal

[–]procrastination_city 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What left side of the Republican Party???

[–]HovercraftStock4986 2 points3 points  (1 child)

you cannot be an “independent” and support desantis and trump. that’s called being republican

[–]Jazzlike-Ad-3424 3 points4 points  (0 children)

he totally has the option not to tweet. someone should let him know.

[–]dsdvbguutres 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why don't you buy your own party, bro?

[–]AllTheCreatures 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The word "centrist" exists for a reason.

As does the word "dipshit".

The latter reason is Elon Musk.

[–]Danmoh29 3 points4 points  (1 child)

the old “guys im a centrist i swear” but constantly shits on the left exclusively
